After my last wings- I couldn't leave well enough alone and had to make an even bigger pair.
The video featuring some cute moving cat ears, and the other elements of the final cosplay, is also coming soon! I think that'll be the last video on Hazbin Cosplays though as I want to do some other stuff.

Question?how do hide the back bord I'm new to this...
@@cashlynnCollins you can see towards the end of the video when I'm painting I covered it with extra feathers!
@@MissTwisteddd ok thx sorry i watched this like two days ago
i had an idea to make beautiful somewhat realistic feathers but im por and dont have time ill get to it tho
@@rebeccachambers4701 fr im broke but thats not gonna stop me
Alright, next goal: Actually integrate your cosplay wings with a real hang glider.
How-
for the love of God, Da Vinci already did it!
Next goal: grow wings
Then she could cosplay as Fenyx!
@@CJMoody Phoenix from Harry Potter?
"Hot glue is not usually the first thing you think of when you're gluing foam" thats a cosplay thing every furry knows the power of hot glue on foam.
hot glue and foam and fur though, winning combination, I think it's usually foam on foam that's not so great with hot glue! Least not usually compared to contact cement.
@@MissTwistedddit depends on the kind of foam because, if the melting temp is low enough, hotglue is the actual best for it. You commented on how it melts the wings but that’s exactly why it works.
@@ScreamTeleheadyes, it's like welding for foam
@@MissTwisteddd Oh no, quite the contrary, hot glue is the undisputed king of gluing foam to foam. Upholstery foam, EVA foam, packing foam as you've seen here, it's godly. This is the entire basis of arguably the single most important fursuit construction technique, the foam headbase.
Furries.... bless your hearts... you bring a smile to a heartless and cruel world. I'm not one, but have no hate for people who do their own thing. Much respect. You do you boo.😊
another alternative source of fiberglass rods: igloo tents
either buy one on discount and throw the strings, net and fabric, and zippers on your to-use-later pile
or ask all friends who own tents to think of you when their's eventually dies...
Igloo tents! Honestly I think a lot of tent poles will be a great option, I looove salvaging the zips and other bits and pieces too. Good suggestion!
There are replacement components available from camping stores for a reasonable price.
Bonus is the kits include Shock cord which may also be handy for projects
THANK YOU I WAS LIKE LOOKING EVERYWHERE FOR FIBERGLASS RODS AND LIKE NOTHING CAME UP WITHOUT BEING LIKE REALLY EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!! THANK U FOR THIIISISSS
Another option is modelshops (the RC kind). Especially ones that also do RC airplanes and such will have glassfiber and carbon fiber rods in a bunch of thicknesses. Thinner glassfiber rods are great because they are so flexible. i've used them in hoop skirts which was really handy because you can squish the hoops to get through doors.
@@MissTwistedddwhen you said joy of creation
All I could think of was fnaf
Also you should try to make a biblically accurate Angel like a seraphim or a cherub
The cherub is creepy
“It should be relatively comfortable” definitely still riding the success from the other one (I say this as a fellow cosplayer that also makes impractical props)
They turned out amazingly well as did the entire cosplay. You never give yourself sufficient credit for your creativity or sheer determination, and you should. Thanks for sharing this with us as always.
3:58 Oh yes, I spend the "freedom dollar" currency. 😂😂
But how many flags per eagle is that?
@@this.user.has.anxiety hmmm that's a good question
Forget Us dollars I USE FREEDOM DOLLARS
For your next wing project, I have a challenge for you. Is it possible to make the wings foldable? Like how characters fold their wings on their backs?
Edit: Now we know it's possible, the only question left is if the creator-chan (don't question why I said that) is willing to do all that work. You could use a smaller pair of wings for this. (It was requested for you to do it more complex than Lilith's wings/cosplay)
That would probably require studies on bird musculature
It is definitely possible, I've seen people with foldable cosplay wings before. Requires a lot of work and very intricate design though.
I have done that and honestly it's just painful how much you have to account for while making them
It is possible to make articulated wings, there is a costume wing company that actually specializes in them, so it's definitely possible if you research how bird and bats wings are structured and how they move, umbrellas actually fold out similar to bird wings except they have more than just 2 folding mechanisms, the tricky thing is if you want to make the feathers spread out when expanded, cause then you need a lot of smaller mechanisms attached to the larger wingtip feathers.
Bird wing has the same basic structure as a human arm, mechanics are the same, just longer and thinner.
Maybe look for beach fishing rods, they are really long and they gradually get thicker and stiffer, so you can start stiff and rigid on the root of the wing and getting lighter and more flexible towards the tip.
And they are pretty light too.
And maybe using kite surfing line, it's thin and super strong.
With a swivel joint at the bottom of the backplate (you can make them from a hose) and a string in a pulley tackle, you could adjust the angle/height.
Damn I would show you what I mean and build a quick mock up, but there are 16000km in the way 😂
It looks so good how they just kind of drift to being directly behind you as you start walking until you stop. Very fluid movement!
amazing project.
I like how the "bones" and the wings are separate, so you can change one without harming the other. (and transport as mentioned ofc)
OMG THE QUEEN POSTED
I belive condors have a wing size like this realative to their size
That's so cool! I think a lot of birds do especially the big soaring birds- like albatrosses for example. I think we don't really comprehend the scale of the wings when they're on birds!
a lil bit less, condors are around 9 ft btw.
Fuck no! Fuuuuuck no. Idk where they live but keep those away from me
Fun fact! The bird with the largest wingspan is the Albatross, however it’s only about 11.5ft (or 3.5m)
This is absolutely stunning, I have been obsessed with your cosplays and would love to see your cosplays at a convention ❤
Thank you! I go to most of the local cons here in Melbourne. Travelling interstate is expensive as heck, let alone travelling internationally to cons outside of Australia, so I don't tend to go to other ones. I'm making a mini-set of these wings currently so I can wear them to an upcoming convention!
My face hurts from smiling so much. I find your creativity an absolute delight to watch!
Well that makes me smile right back so thank you!
As someone who glues foams A LOT for my job - Hot glue is amazing (especially the high temp stuff!) It has a tendency to actually soak into the material while maintaining good contact on both pieces. It's my go to for anything involving foam!
Yeah but for anyone mentioning it I would worry the amount needed to properly attach the feathers would add a lot of extra weight
Bro looks like he got passive soring wings.😹 Grate job on the cosplay of Husk. 😸
Definitely turned out that kind of shape! Thank you!
im sorry to be this type of person
but
its great not grate🙃
@@sparrow4572 Okay so I still stink at spelling. At least that's my only error. 😹
I love watching people break down parts of their cosplay / their whole cosplay! It’s so interesting to see it all come together. Amazing!
Girl, you think Husk's wings were overe ambitious. I dare you to make, in fact, i would actually love to see you make Lucifer's wings. Now, that would be a challenge.😅😍🤩plus, Luci Boy is my favorite from the show🥰🤎😈
Haha these wings are only ambitious cos of the size! But I do kind of want to do a 6 or 8 winged creation!
I've said it before, but some more mechanical based maker channel really should do a collaboration with Charlotte to build some form of articulated wing skeleton for her to skin. It would be so cool to see her in wings that folded and unfurled in an properly organic style. Sh*t, if I wasn't on the other side of the planet I'd offer to have a go at it myself. I'm sure MT could repay them by crafting them something truly mental in return. :)
You're preaching to the choir with he tip about using used fishing poles as cheap glass fibre rod stock. I used to buy these whenever I saw damaged ones going really cheap in thrift shops. I used to build radio controlled aircraft, and you could make wings almost indestructible if you substituted the original balsa or spruce leading edge with a section of fishing pole. They were also really good as pushrods for flight controls. If I needed to join 2 of them side by side, I'd wrap them together at intervals with nylon thread, then soak the thread in superglue. As long as you don't use superglue that sets glass hard you get a really strong joint that's still got enough give to it that it'll put up with all but the most abrupt "Unplanned landings". :D
The cable rods are also good, but definatly in second place to fishing poles. if you need to use multiple lengths of cable rod screwed together, the point where the brass fittings are glued onto the glass fibre rod tends to be a pretty serious weak spot. The best use I ever found for cable rods has been to screw them all together with the hook on the end to retrieve an RC aircraft from 20 odd foot up a tree that had somehow managed to jump right in front of my model aircrafts flight path. :D
Sad that we won't get to see this at a convention but it's absolutely understandable given the physical size and how hard ir would be to safely move around.
Luckily I'm making a mini pair right now, about 3 metres wide and more flex so I can wrap them around me to get through con crowds safely!
Now that is an amount of talent that I would love to have. Man, those are SO real looking. Applause for the absolutely ethereal wings and their creator.
A 20-40$ 2 person tent has a nice set of fiberglass rods AND nylon to cut up. The rods also have male/female connectors.
That backpack bit you cut away could have been folded up to hide the wood/mechanical bits
...so many feathers... so many... x.x
Looks amazing as always!
As a suggestion, you might want to put some Duct Tape or Foam over the Heads of the Bolts and Nuts and Washers, so you will not have any sharp edges that can dig your Costume or your Back.
That's a great idea! For the ones on my back they sink into the foam of the padded backpack well enough, but that might actually still be worth doing, especially in case they snag on fabric!
@@MissTwisteddd By the way, LOVE your Cosplay of Eda, the Owl Lady.
For high strength low weight you can also use old golf clubs, or order filament wound epoxy tubing.
We use it for LARP weapons and it makes good rigid light cores for all kinds of stuff
27 minutes in, those are perfect wings for my OC.
*FINDS A MISS TWISTED VID* "TAKE THAT DEPRESSION!"
Not me staying up way too late so I can finish watching this in one go. Also not me vowing to swipe every bit of packing foam I come across tossed in the garbage at work so I can build the ultimate pair of wings for my winter fae.
Appreciate you staying up and finishing it! Hope your winter fae goes well too!
I absolutely also have a hoard of this foam from my old job! nice 🤝
wow they came out great! and the shot with you filling the entire allay was funny, also i wouldn't be surprised if you were able to fly if these where real wings!
Here's a thought for future reference: Rather than fill the PVC with hot glue for the fishing rods, you can get end caps for PVC pipe which you could then drill appropriate sized holes in for the fishing rod.
Also, you might look into using a rivet gun for attaching hardware instead of bolts. Much more compact, much more secure, and fun to use.
Also also - Stop hitting your shelf 😀
Hot glue actually melts the foam together kind of that’s why it works so good. I used an Eva foam base so I had a bit easier time, if you glue a bit and let it cool for a few seconds it doesn’t melt fully through (I’ve used polyethylene foam for wings before)
This is totally awesome!
The wings look amazing by themselves, and the whole cosplay ensemble is fabulous. I get why you don't want to wear this at a 'con, though, because you'd need a team of people to guide you around the place and prevent collisions with trade stands, passers-by and door frames.
I once had the pleasure of photographing a cosplayer who was Dr Octopus, and she had this whole arrangement on her back for the artificial octopus arms. It stuck out less than a metre to either side, but she nevertheless had a tricky time navigating the venue.
Your glue test was funny. "This doesn't work. This doesn't work. This doesn't work. This work... Nevermind. "
My favorite part is that contact cement used improprrly held up better in the test then it done the right way😂😂😂
I don’t know when I’ll get over my Hazbin Hotel obsession, so I will happily enable you.
Yes! Impressively sized wings and one of the characters I enjoy. Loved the iteration and pipe work. You probably realized the wings become easier to manage when the weight of a tail is added to them. No advice necessary at this point. Just praise for your artistic talent. You seem to be going down the road of puppetry.
OMFG THIS IS THE COOLEST COSPLAY IVE EVER SEEN
the backpack to hold the wings is genius ,
That is SO STUNNING!!! my favorite character is husk and omg i love these wings 😭
This is the tutorial I’ve been waiting YEARS for
Next task is it make the TALLEST cosplay!
Giant stilts here we come! That means I have to make it bigger than 7.5 feet cos I've done a pretty tall one before!
Those wings are about the span needed for a human to actually take flight so good job :) (It's about 18ft for the minimum so close enough)
Love seeing your projects still new to all this myself, but love all the new people that share the same ideas of fun
I LOVE THE WINGS
ive always love wings that are giant and wearable
BUT THEY LOOK GREAT FOR HUSK
😮 this is extraordinary 👍💜🌌
YOUR THE OWLCHEMIST?! THATS AMAZING! I never knew you were the Owlchemist
When you catch it at 20min ago you know it's gotta be good🤣
I am just astounded how amazing these look!! Really amazing job! The final look! Just WOW! Your Husk cosplay looks so good!
i feel like you could cosplay hawks very well lmao, maybe i think that bc i have an obsession-
You are amazingly incredibly talented and also extremely gorgeous!! You're talent is without equal no one can match You're creations!! Live long and prosper also please keep posting these incredible video's a fan in Texas
YASS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THISS
They turned out really amazing!
You did a fantastic job with the wings!
Love that you kept in all the frustration and progress changing in the video!
Looking forward to your next project!
I’ve had this very vague idea of doing a Hawkgirl cosplay one day, and your vids give me hope that I might be able to actually pull it off ❤
Finally!
I've been waiting for your version of Husk ❤♠️♦️♣️
Love it!
If you check UA-cam there are a couple of really great shorts on how to bend PVC without kinking it, like filling it with fine sand or inserting a length of flexible metal conduit before heating it up.
Sooo satisfying seeing your process. Took me back to my weeping angel cosplay. you gave me some ideas to redo my harness that is ATM a piece of Plywood -so bulky-
thank you so much.❤❤❤
A quick note about " Hot Glue/Hot Glue Guns", there are now 2 different types if you pay attention to the packaging. The other type is a "Cold" Hot glue that melts at a lower temperature than the "Hot" Hot Glue. My hot Glue craft gun has a switch for both. And the cold sticks and settings have never melted Styrofoam for Christmas decor and other similar types of projects, where the "Hot" hot Glue will. You do have to work faster with the colder stuff though as it sets up a lot quicker than the hotter stuff.
QUEEN HAS SPOKENN
I love husk so much and i love the wings! Nice job!
I would LOVE to make something like this--only much smaller--for a Hawks (MHA) cosplay.
this was SO dang cool to see. You are incredibly skilled and work super hard for the amazing results! Go you!
You’re a genius!!! Those wings are absolutely stunning and move like real ones. Love your channel and am so glad I found you!🌞
Have you heard of starboard plastic sheets? They are a high density poly ethylene plastic. It is easy to drill, easily shaped, hard and strong plastic. I have used this plastic to make covers, mounts, switch and guage panels, and some small parts. Starboard can get a bit pricey, but for some of these projects it might come in handy
Dang that cosplay actually is amazing
I’ve been wanting to make moving wings for so long now and both this and the Lute video are so helpful!
You are SO talented, and have the best hair! Love the wings.❤
Singlehandedly the best Husk cosplay I've ever seen! You killed it!
I love your cosplay builds!
Those are amazing wings. The whole outfit was fantastic. Kudos!
Discovering Hazbin Hotel as a gem of a series with some interesting concepts on Inferno & Paradiso. I used some music as part of an art project, a kind of listen to the picture soundtrack that tells a Fable. Anywho in said music findings your character portrayal of Alastor Heartfelt came up with a few sketches followed by an Owlchemist & then your talented skills of outfit designs on wings. Your calming voice & enthusiasm makes what you do interesting. I like how you just seem to make what you envision by understanding how the materials you use work. Very cool & good luck in future projects!
I bet the easiest way to make it wearable at conventions or other places is attach the wings together in the back instead of having them swing around and take up more space, maybe an ivsible-like string or rope in between the middle (highest) joints of the wings would hold them securely together, it shouldnt take much since they already freely move. This is definitly something that needs to be shown off and you cant just keep it at home! They turned out so amazing and beautiful.
You absolutely crushed this! The wings look so amazing!
"The metal loopy things"...you are so adorable!
Next time you want to do light weight large wings.
Backpack is a great base, but a body harness would work as well.
For the structure, in order to keep it light weight, you can take 3/8 to 1 1/4 inch dowels and do it up like a bat wing.
Keep the 1 mm packing foam sheets. Dense mesh would be easy to dye and be light weight. You can even make them water proof.
heck yea
I love watching this to get Ideas for cosplays! Keep it up! ❤❤❤
Girl you are a LIFESAVER! You have no idea how much I needed this video thank you!!!!
The cosplay turned out SO GOOD!! you never disappoint!!
If you still want the bend in the wings you could’ve totally used two or three more of the fishing rods and just taped and glued them onto the two you had previously taped together. That would’ve made it strong enough to hold up all the feathers while still being bendy and flowy.
Sooo beautiful!!!❤
It's amazing how huge they are and accurate too! Speaking of accurate, something that bugs me a lot is when cosplays/artworks have inaccurate wing anatomy and feather placement which makes the look like a weird mess, but these are pretty accurate and look sooo perfect!🤩
Yeah it seems like it's hard for humans to grasp how feathers work on wings so you often see feathers too small for the wing size or strange shapes! I try and study pictures of real wings to get the scale feeling realistic!
Omg i can't wait for the ears for husk❤
Husk is actually my fav character, I love this video omg!!
The wings look amazing, You are so beautiful and amazing, love your work and passion. ❤❤
Tent poles could be another possibility
Looks good as always and since I love crafting and husk is my favorite character this was very cool
This is so goddamn inspiring, I love your ideias and how you make them come true! You deserve much more attention, please, never stop being so amazing and creative
Oh my God- Amazing work!
I'm just gonna say, you are so wonderfully bonkers! The wings and cosplay came out brilliantly. So impressive.
Im almost close to the end video, and they look amazing, ahhhhh
Omg this is the best cosplay of Husk i've ever seen!
Goodness, these wings are amazing!
The fact that the wings sit back while walking until she stops (34:19) has me needing a video of her powerwalking straight toward the camera and then stopping so the wings just reveal themselves. Maybe even throwing a playing card at the camera as well.
Wow! Love these! Such an amazing piece and I love your whole cos costume styles too 😍😻😍 (I only recently found your channel with the smaller wings vid) congratulations 🎉
If you don't already, you've DEFINITELY gotta come to next Armageddon Expo in Auckland New Zealand for the cosplay parade! Its in October so you'd have a lot of time too! Theres also videos on youtube of the full parades on APG media's channel (the company that works with Armageddon for videography/ photography)
Theres also more con dates for other cities around the country, and a second one for Auckland in June, but its around 13th-15th, so already done this year.
I'd loooove to do Armageddon! It's hard for me to do international or interstate cons because the travel costs so much. I've started trying to reach out to cons to see if they'll host me as a guest to make it easier to do!
One thing I'll recommend to help with heat bending plastic tubing in the future: To help keep the strength in the long run is a similar method for bending tubing for water cooling loops in PC's and servers I think. Using something on the inside of the PVC pipe to keep as much of the natural circular support strength from the circular tube shape it has as possible. the full kink bends can (and usually from what I've seen too) create a stress point prone to cracking/shattering. Gives just enough base flex to not break when combined with fishing poles (or fiberglass poles you shared as an alternative.
You are absolutely insane and i absolutely love it. This is incredible! 💜💜💜💜
You litteraly amaze me so much IM IN AWE
The way this would make some stellar Crowley/Aziraphale wings ❤🐍
If the length is double, the weight will be 2x2x2=8 times as much, so quadruple is underselling it. Using a triangle shape on the backplate before the first bend might make that bit more secure. This can be done with a long hinge that has a few tubes, separate hinges or maybe even hinging the backplate itself (which might also give you different control of the movement).
I am going to try hot glue on foam method for a few test LARP weapons, that would be a better stiffness differential to weapon cores than contact glue.
I'm planning my Husk Cosplay and entering it into a cosplay contest. As awesome as these wings are, I personally don't want to make mine this big, but dang are those wings absolutely epic! Please show how you did the the tail too!!!
The tail, brows, claws and some awesome moving ears are coming in the next video!
