- Y'all this one was... certainly a cosplay. Definitely got some upgrades to make (I just got some new silicone hands in and just sewed up some new gloves today!) but I hope you can enjoy this journey of trial-and-error!
As always guys, please do feel free to comment if you have any questions!

2:54 Lesson 1, buy the hands for $50, don't make for $100
5:30 make pockets somewhere and don't forget
6:23 put shirt on mannequin or stretch it over something to paint. Cover object to avoid staining.
6:55 cover the unpainted areas first (but this looks fine)
8:55 one of us, phone on boxes to record
Uhh, there's a lot with stitching, watch it yourself.
13:23 retrying the button
14:34 3rd try
15:56 4th try, simple is better
Molding

I'm pinning this thank you 😂 also these plus the upgrades I mentioned at the end (which I've now implimented) are all good tips for anyone wanting to try stuff like this for yourself!

I love the "if you can't hide it, exaggerate it" approach - I have been preaching that to every friend for years hahah. This is the first time i hear someone else say it and it makes me happy
Haha it's honestly such a good bit of advice!!
I did this for a korra cosplay! I was a VERY poor college student, and had a pho-hide/fur vest that I repurposed into her season 1 bustle. It was my first time hand-sewing and the seam-ripped pieces of my vest was NOT going to cover my bum, so I cut the pieces more than I needed to in order to make it look like it was a true piece of clothing hide clothing stitched together by someone who only had primitive tools in a tundra. I got a LOT of requests for pictures, because so many people really liked what I did with it.
tried to do this with my autism, now im in an asylum.
@@Ashley-cj6dw"cut more than needed"
Does that mean as
More clothing Or Less clothing ?
English is a confusing language for me sometimes
@@KinDiedYesterdaymy understanding of their comment is that the vest didn't have enough fabric to cover their butt so they cut it so that the pieces would be smaller and then intentionally cover less
Damn I love your work and longer posts. So much fun! Years ago (literally early 1990's) I was with a LARP group, and costumes/weapons etc were an all-consuming topic with us. Absolutely adore seeing you go through all the same shit we did mate. Hope to meet you o e day at a con 😊
Hope so too! Thank you so much!
I love seeing all the mistakes and frustrations along with the success. It makes a baby cosplayer like me feel better for all the frustration and redos I've been through. There is always room to improve and grow!
From a LARPer, if you put dishwater in the bristles and wash the latex out between layers the brushes will work a lot longer. Also glue spray or neoprene glue will flexibly glue foam to latex.
Inlove this type of content. I have a desire to do a monster cosplay where there are 4 arms. Thank you for being so awesome and explaining this.
i just wanted to say, i rearanged my room to this video. That sounds wierd but its a compliment, like its not boring but not super actuive and distracting!! also i love your hair. :)
As someone who regularly crafts with youtube videos going on in the background (often of other people's crafts) totally get it and I definitely take it as a compliment!
Was this a hard costume to make? Always hazbin.
This better not be a pun Gerald swears to God if it is a pun Gerald will shut down
I love this cosplay so much and I think you did a great job! I thought a loona cosplay from helluva boss not only look great but would also suit you really well❤❤❤
as a kid my mom made spider costumes for me and my sister with similar arm mechanics. Try Husk next please!
That's so cool! I'm debating Husk or Lute!
"Not to self: buy some damn hands and surgically attatch them."
Hey there. Amazing cosplay! :D
I think it might be easier to simply put the strings on transparent rings so you can easily put them on and off without taking the gloves off...
I ended up replacing the gloves with ones I made myself with four-way stretch lycra (you can see them in the thumbnail) but honestly that's a genius idea if you wanted to keep the rhinestones!
Love your unstoppable attitude! Your Angle Dust looks amazing in its first iteration!
I would suggest using E6000 for the gemstones as that’s what worked for me in the past. And I moved a lot in my costume because mine was for dance and they didn’t fall off. But be careful because it will not come off if u spill it on something.
That's my go-to for gems! I got a little too excited with this new glue that's a really good fabric glue, but I'm definitely going back to E6000 for future projects when there's gems involved!
Lindt Roller works great with faux fur on clothes btw 👍
I once made a little spider costume for my daughter when she was in preschool. I sewed the little spider arms with fishing string (because that stuff does not rip that easily). but I figgured, if she would constantly move the little extra legs with her arms, she would knock everything over when eating, I sew the little hooks used to close bras to the string and her sleve, so the arms are more easily detacheable. So, two false arms on each side sewed together like you did and the upper one detachable with hooks on the sleves. and also extra hooks on the base of the upper leg to hook the string to, so it wouldn't catch some stuff. I also used black fishing string, because the costume was black and it wasn't as noticable. I feel you, those arms... what a load of work! I handsewed the entire thing because I didn't even have a machine back then. But I remeber even some dads shrieked when she ran around at preschool and her arms moved, so, win. :)
For the nails: maybe you could use the foam stuff that is used for dragonscales on costumes? Or some rubbery silicone faux nails they use for... "fun dolls".
The costume and makeup look great, I really love your work on it.
That sounds awesome! Fishing line is what I used as well. Love the extra ideas, interesting to try out next time!
I feel so bad for laughing at your struggle but it was so honest and relatable the 4 tries on the bowtie center and the entire process of the arms was SOSO funny. im sorrryyyy
Hahaha nah it's funny for me too!
@@MissTwisteddd OKAY GOOOD !! It's always so frustrating until you look back at it lmao
For the gloves, on leggings sometimes there is a tacky silicone band at the top of the pants so they don't slide down. I bet that would work just as well if not better (since less weight) for your gloves.
Props for even trying AD WITH the extra arms, you could totally drop them as AD has been shown to hide them at times and the cosplay would totally be acceptable.
Gorgeous cosplay! Angeldust is my second favorite after Carmilla Carmine aesthetics wise. Though unless I was a pointe ballet dancer (which I am not) she would be hard to cosplay😅
You could likely just wear white ballet slippers and not walk around with the point down. I don't think anyone would expect someone to cosplay to that extreme.
I love the cosplay it’s so cute and pretty
Duuuude this video is so awesome
Now I wanna get into cosplay :sob:
I haven't done any cosplay, so take this with a grain of salt, but I wonder if (since the gemstones were less for accuracy to cosplay and more to bling it out), you could use the crystals to sort of cluster them more in the places the magnets were to give yourself a more visual marker of where said magnets were? Either way, the effort you put in was mesmerizing and I think you did an amazing job, thank you for the video!
That could work! I ended up ditching the gems and sewed my own gloves out of a glittery lycra so it still sparkled!
This is BEAUTIFUL ❤🔥
This is wonderfully constructed and the dedication and final product is absolutely phenomenal I do have a question tho
Is there a reason to not make the hands entirely out of fabric/foam? (i.e simple fabric glove > foam > wire < foam < fabric)
Thanks you so much for this I’ve been wondering how to make the arms and chest fluff for a while now. Trying to make my own Angel Dust cosplay too ❤
You should totally do a husker one too I'm trying to Figure out how to do his wings
Making an Angel cosplay for Vidcon this year! Will definitely be looking at this for inspiration on the arms!!
Amazing!! ❤❤❤
Could you PLEEEEEZE make a video on how to make those moving feather ears you have on your owl and demon characters in your recent shorts? I'm sure you made them! 😂
I did! I've got a video coming up on Juniper (my Owlchemist) but one coming even sooner about making some moving ears for Husk!
I would love to see you make an Alastor if possible!
Helluva boss bro I’ve watched all the episodes atleast 5 times and made my own dub version of what I think the next episode is gonna be if they make a new one!
Remembering one documentary on subject (making latex gloves in fact) - maybe next time it is easier to make positive hand mould from something like expanded foam, and paint latex on it?
Excellent costume:)
Yeah I think expanding foam would have been the perfect way to go!
As someone planning to do the black outfit and 4 arms look for angel I'm watching your video for research because I've got 3 possible ideas for the second set of arms
I have to say it's so funny that you talk about how hot it is to wear the costume because I pointed out to a friend of mine while talking about preparing to make my own angel dust cosplay about how it's going to look like. It's not that warm, but by the time I get all the pieces on it's going to be plenty warm
@@xxdaemochibixx120 Yeah everything adds up! Especially in Australian summer- and the black one will be very warm too if you go with shiny fabrics rather than cottons- I hope it goes well!
I would suggest using really large snaps at the top of the gloves to attach it to the top.
I actually did try that but it didn't stay very well, but the upgraded gloves sit tighter and don't fall down as easy now
Yes! Sarah spaceman!!
Im not a cosplayer but I'm a mediaeval reenactor.
The statement:
"why buy it for 50, if you can make it yourself for 100 in materials plus lots of time" really hot home hard.
Here is the answer why we do it. Becaise we love doing it, we are slightly masochistic and we want quality.
Hahaha oh as someone who occasionally does LARP stuff (not quite reenactment but there's overlap!) absolutely agree!
@@MissTwisteddd the differences between cutting and a cosplayer, a larger and a reenactor are slim.
It boils down to rules on what to wear and materials used. That's it.
A cosplayer only has little to no influence on how it should look but has freedom when it comes to materials.
The larper only has to go by the rules of the larp rules et but has a bit less freedom regarding materials.
We reenactors have our rules set by history and we should use historical materials.
We all are passionate about making awesome looking stuff.
great costume!
love the outfit its so cool and can you cosplay vaggie next
Imagine cosplaying him with all 6 arms
Got to ask, have you considered cosplaying Carmilla from Hazbin Hotel ? Everytime I see her design it makes me think of you. (Specially in ep. 7)
I probably won't do Carmilla- but I'm considering Niffty, Alastor and Husk!
what a fantastic cosplay!
Oh that explains it

What's Spacecraft? Wait is it cos I'm a Patron of Sarah Spaceman? Love her stuff!!
@@MissTwisteddd yeah! So happy to be part of multiple cosplay communities now!
I love your outfit
Angel Dust is my favourite
I can't use magnets due to a ICD So I will have to think of something else if i make these arms
You could do Velcro! It means having Velcro patches visible on the palms of the hands and jacket/collar but if you had Velcro the same colour as the materials it would blend in okay!
Can you do a pure blood werewolf (you can search up if you dont know what it is) cosplay it should be very simple But because it is so simple can you add a little ear twitch and if you are wondering they do have fangs and a cute thing that I like to add is to add red eyes. Please do it
Gel nail polish that sets with UV might work well as gems on fabric
make the jacket with 4 sleaves and attach the arms on a belt(bike belts are amazing) under the jacket. i know its extra work, but it will look far better and and will be able to hide alot of the crimes
How do you make the arms I can’t watch the video right now
I love hasbin hotel!!!😄
"Sor hazbin hortel"
Do the poison dance in it!
pleaaase!
If only their was a way to make the hands remote controlled, that would be cool.
i just wanted to mention.. AD does actually have 6 arms. keeps two hidden.. demons powers i guess. but this looks dope havnt had youtube spoon feed me one of your videos in a while and it's good to see you again. my question is.. you gonna make angel's flffuy butt too? maybe later?? any who toodles for now back to the video ^.^!!

I love this video but for the hand couldn't you coat the latex on top of the foam?
20:18 it didn’t even turn out to be the thumbnail 💀😂
Haha yeah I changed it once I did the upgrades, cos I was just so much happier with the new picture!
@@MissTwisteddd that’s nice :D

Omg you're so beautiful~🥰
I wish u had a shop, at least for the movable ears T^T
I do occasionaly have openings for headpiece commissions! But not very often sadly as they often sell out right away!
@@MissTwisteddd I see xD how much are they normally?
Hi, I am really interested to make a similar cosplay as this but I am horrible at all these crafty stuffs while still being a beginner. So, I want to do as you suggested, buying some pre made ones but I am worried and not sure if it won't be easy to move the parts with strings by its bulkiness(plastic). I am planning to buy the entire arms that you see on mannequins. Can you give me some advice?😢
Hmm that's a tough one! If you're a beginner cosplayer, jumping into a four-armed moving cosplay is a big leap! I think you might just need to try and experiment a lot with the materials you have- and find what works for you. If you find you really can't quite get a hang of controlling them, you can always sew or glue the 'hand' to your hip so the extra arms remain stationary but still gives the illusion of having four arms.
Great costume. I can't say how and why but the face of your Angeldust makes my brain freak out. I really like the simple but completely different and masculine look. :)
Haha yeah it's a little uncanny hey!
@@MissTwisteddd
I have to look at the details of the makeup to understand how you have created this look. Great work.
Referring to Angeldust as a "masculine" look seems wrong... I mean I know the character is literally a male but even he admits that he's very feminine looking. There's a character in the show that mistakenly keeps referring to him as a woman and he never bothers to correct her. He also points out that everyone thinks his chest fluff are boobs. He's very clearly a cross dresser, male but perfectly comfortable with being mistaken for a woman. This is not a masculine look, this is technically a woman dressed as a man who everyone thinks is a woman.
@@RialVestro
I am pretty sure Angeldust looks like this to attract everybody.
He looks a lot like Dr. Frank N. Furter.
They both are flamboyant and at least to some extent androgynous .
@@MissTwistedddhey twisted! I was wondering if you could do a sewing machine guide/ tips. I have the same one as you and there’s not a lot of tutorials and I would love to start making cosplays! Just a suggestion!
Hello, I did hands, arms, legs and feet in the past, I used silicone too for the mold, but lined it with a thin coat of a shore A20-30 hardness two component liquid polyurethane rubber and filling it with a two component, flexible and very light polyurethane foam.
Developed this with a friend for artificial limb protectors.
I really enjoy your content, keep it up, cheers 😊
That is such a cool idea I will remember that as I'll probably end up needing some similar techniques in the future!
@@MissTwisteddd also ball and joint sockets (used for doll making) are a /little/ more expensive than wire but they are super sturdy and the movement they allow is AMAZING and super fluid.
@@MissTwisteddd I love your cosplay i love all of your work also i was thinking of cosplaying angeldust for a while but i never cosplayed befor and i wanna buy a 3D promter and i was thinking about if i would cosplay as him it would be kined if easyer to 3D Print all the piecem of the hand are and fingers but the way i would make them is like thoes people make for dolls Lol
@@Asher_on-an-ash_tray I hope you have fun getting into cosplay! 3D printing is actually much harder than it looks and the machines can be expensive and require a lot of maintenance- but maybe that's your kind of thing! Either way I hope you enjoy it it's a very exciting hobby!
I was thinking about it as watching it. Maybe see if you can get some 3d printed hand articulated hands with jointed fingers. And as others said jointed doll type arms. This way you can use it for a variety of quadruple arm cosplay.
Also I don't know if they make for gloves suspenders but you could glue in some velcro inside the sleeve and then inside the glove some elastic bands and velcro the ends so you could suspender gloves so can still remove them. Or since they're hidden in the sleeves make them have zippers so they attach and detach like adventure pants.
I know they did this sometimes in star trek with the first contact grey and black uniforms. They had hidden zippered cuffs to change the division colors, ie from command red to engineering yellow.
As a fellow cosplayer let's be honest with ourselves half of the "I'll make my life harder because I don't want to buy pre-made stuff" is also because we actually like doing the more complicated option.... like sure we WILL bitch about it to anyone who will listen, but we also enjoy doing it lol
Gerald WOULD say “language please” but technically it isn’t because it’s a type of talking, so..
But also... I don't wanna wait. Why do that if I can start the process, RIGHT NOW?
@@hydrogenkitty I have cosplayed Link... I understand... I bought concrete or whatever, silicone, and liquid latex all for attempting to make elf ears that did not work. And I would do it again.
As someone who is only done a few cosplays and none of them outside of wig+clothes some makeup and ears one time, people who use silicone and make limbs are like dark wizards using black magic. Absolutely love the cosplay and how it turned out!
Haha it all starts with playing around with it even if you know nothing! (Of course making sure you have safety well-researched, but the rest is just play and practice!)
@@MissTwisteddd I cant afford any of that kind if thing, and my mother would get suspicious. Any ideas on cost-effective solutions I could try?

an idea to hold the jacket closer to the waist is to look into a little Victorian technique in the form of a waist tape. it is essentially a hidden belt under a jacket or bodice to hold it in place without any strain on buttons or hooks. Love the look though so fun and cool to see all the processes and details you added
0:15 I wouldn't say digital circus fits the title of "adult" series
More 'animation that can be enjoyed by adults' than just 'adult only animation' I didn't really make that part clear hey!

it turned out amazing in the end!!
40:08 the movement in this secuence is amazing honestly
I'm pretty happy with it, but even more so with the upgrades!
While the finished results were a bother, I certainly commend you for putting so much time and effort into the project, and that you could still demonstrate that such a cosplay feature for Angel Dust CAN be done like that. It's not always about whether the results are comfortable or compatible, but whether they can actually be accomplished, which you did so beautifully. This first time really helped to shake out the flaws, so here's wishing you more success for another opportunity to remove those annoyances, and have a set of spider arms that will be more agreeable. Even without the extra arms, you still make a very beautiful Angel Dust in the costume, makeup and wig. You're bound to be quite the eyecatcher at conventions and similar events. Much love to the sexy spider boi and best wishes to you as a brilliant cosplayer and crafter. 💗
Thank you! And yes indeed, the remake I did definitely improved a lot of the issues I was having! The next couple of videos were also rushed cosplays, but I'm making a promise to myself to slow down and work on perfecting it next time!
