Anyone else notice how Keith David initially does Husk's voice a bit gruffer in the first few episodes but then around 3 or 4 he just speaks with his normal voice?
There's a purpose to that. In voice acting for angsty characters, it implies a gradual mellowing out of their personality and emotional health. One example of this that nearly everyone knows is Dante Basco voicing Zuko; Zuko is a lot more calm and collected by the time of Book 3 when he speaks
Husk is the perfect bartender to vent to after a crappy day. He’ll be there with a drink (but know when to cut you off), a listening ear, and brutally honest advice if necessary. We all need someone like Husk in our lives. Edit: And as someone has just wisely pointed out to me, he’s also fluffy
Husk being a therapist-like character is such an awesome character idea, because for people that lived back when getting therapy/addressing mental health was way more stigmatized, bartenders like Husk were probably the closest a lot of people got for decent therapy back then. Mental health care systems and education still have a long way to go nowadays, but back when some of the main cast were alive, it would have been way worse. Poor Angel could have easily been institutionalized if he ever came out to his family (assuming he hadn't been able to until his death), or worse. 0_0
Fr my dad would tell me "I have no idea why but people I don't even know would come to me and tell me about what's been bothering them" AND HES NOT EVEN A THERAPIST, NOR A BARTENDER. But I would tell him well dad, you do look very approachable.
I can somewhat relate to husk when it comes to being brutally honest. No point in sugarcoating shit. Just be straight up. Regardless of how they react, they can’t call you a liar/bullshiter and they’ll 100% appreciate it down the road.
@@jacobrivera1721and the thing is, Husk isn't being a jerk, unlike so many other people who use the guise of being brutally honest to be rude. He's not.

Charlie's lack of social awareness and boundaries was more than obvious to anyone back in the pilot. Tried to watch the pilot twice (successful the second time) because her first song during her interview with Katie Killjoy (and the whole interview in general) felt a bit cringe to me. After that the episode was smooth sailing.

Husk backing up so he doesn’t get thrown off
I feel like husk is going to have one of the most impactful character developments in the show. Somehow breathing life into someone that doesn't want it. Cant wait, love Husk
Ya know for most characters the pilot voice was better for me, but Keith David is always an improvement
i seriously didnt think this was the direction they would go with husker, going from basically a lazy alcoholic gambler in the pilot to actually having a personality and being like the listening ear to the series
Man, Keith David kills this role. His voice is one of those handful of voices you can pick up anywhere, like Samuel Jackson, or Morgan Freeman. But he blends into Husker where you forget who owns the voice.
2:40 how i see winter lovers(how niffty is acting lolol)
5:49 THE SOUND HE MADE OMG ITS SO SILLY
If I had a nickel for every time keith David voiced a cat, I’ll have two nickels, which ain’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice
5:20
Am I the only one who noticed that the spots under angels eyes were also his eyes-
2:20 is my favorite part of husker and angel
Same 😂😂. Husk and I had the same thought.
What everyone else watched: Husk being the best bartender in Hazbin Hotel for 8 Minutes
What I just watched: Keith David being perfect voice for Catnap from Poppy Playtime for 8 minutes
Well, that would be if Neil Ross doesn't reprise his role. I think Blake Roman would also fit CatNap if he talked in the smiling critters cartoons. I had that idea when Angel Dust imitated cat noises. 0:58 4:24
David's best voice role 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
Can't help but hear a grumpy Admiral Anderson here
I love husk his personality😂
I love you husk devin and husk two BFFS 6:45
DEVIN
The Wing flap bit we all know what that implies deep down.
If someone runs a bar, then they're probably used to dealing with bad s*&^ happening.
Don't mess with the barkeep.
