- Today we're back in the studio as Ian gets his hands on the new Brava shaft. Following Mike's test against the Autoflex yesterday, Ian decides to put the new shaft up against his current gamer the Mitsubishi Kai'Li. Check it out to see if her can find some extra yards!

I’ve spent the last week at the range with the BGT Brava on my tsi3 and can confirm I have much tighter groupings and more heat off the club face than with my diamana tb or my hzdrs smoke blue rdx, this shaft is a keeper!

Playing Ventus red R flex 74 years old speed 88-90 club head 120-125 ball speed 195 approx carry rollout to 215+ flat normal conditions thinking of trying this in R flex very impressive product.

At my age I’ve learned people that can’t handle change from a quality product can’t handle much of anything thanks for keeping us geezers young as we live vicariously through you guys
Have had the blue in my Qi10 for about 2 weeks now. Out of the gate I noticed how consistent the kick was between the on course and the 100% swings on the range. I have the 70x model. I don’t have to over-swing/change my setup to get the shaft to perform. Carry and total are consistent even at 118-122 club head speeds. Enough spin and launch to sit and stop in the 300-320 range i expect out of driver.
Kaili Blue is a breath of fresh air. I have tried too many hzrdus/tour AD/ventus/tensei shafts to count. This thing is smooth, consistent and easy to hit. It is also a “stock” option on TM’s website and maybe 250 to get from non OEM’s (I can’t speak on this price, didn’t do my research). Give it a try!
Definitely would like to see what happens if you shorten it a touch. 46 is too long for me. But if 45 to 45.5 doesn't change results much I would definitely go check it out

Just bought this shaft for my TSI3! Going at it blind but I like to have 2 shafts at all times, and between my Smoke RDX blue and this BGT Brava I should have some flexibility on how I play my driver
I appreciate the reviews of the brava and auto flex. But surely if you took any half decent shaft in the 50g range and play it at 46" then you'll eventually find one that delivers exactly the same results, probably at a fraction of the price.

I miss the 'Ilima (Redboard to Kaili's blueboard). Best fairway shaft I've ever tried. My brother still has my old one in his R9 3 wood that he absolutely refuses to upgrade because he hits it so good.
Can we see a video on Brava vs Vanquish vs Autoflex with someone who is around 95-100 swing speed
Would love to see this test done with the young lady that works at TXG that was fitted with the Autoflex as her swing speed is lower and more in line with us players that do not hit 100+ mph swing speed.
I have a brava coming tomorrow. Can't wait to hit it this weekend. Coming from autoflex sf405 and I chose the regular flex in the bgt, but might tip it 1 inch.

@@TheTurbomopar the Bravo was great I enjoyed it very much however since then I've switched to the Accra FX 3.0 140 m0 I found it to be absolutely incredible. I hit it long, I hit it straight, it's easy to swing and it's light. At half the price of the Brava you can't go wrong
Nice. Have you ever tested how older less pricy shafts (like aldila tour green/blue, aldila NV etc) stand against new premium shafts?

I've played the Aldila NV in my 3-wood for years and I'm not changing. There's no magic in any of these things; if you find one that fits your timing & delivery really well, stick with it.
I’ve seen Ian play the Ventus Black I think, the Kaili Blue, TPT, and I think one or two others. Would like to see a head to head with those
BGT definitely earned themselves genuine credibility with the Stability shafts.

Ian, if the longer shaft gets a bit squirrely, can't you just choke up a bit on the club to reduce its effective length and try to tighten up dispersion?
I’ve never felt comfortable gripping down on driver.

A few months back I joined but never got even one notification. I'm sure that's on UA-cam & not you guys but I enjoy the lives & had a couple of questions I'd hoped to get answered. Anyways I canceled my membership after a month because I effectively paid $10.00 for an emoji. 😂 I've been busy & kept forgetting to let you know you might want to check into that. Also, Mikey was straight killin' that Autoflex. 😆
I went from a tensei blue 55 gram stiff to the brava 54 gram stiff and found it was much easier to find the fairways , that’s never a bad thing.

great review i'm shortlisting the kai li blue in the qi10 ls i cant afford a custom ventus option. i dont have $900 to spend on a driver!!!

Was it the 54g S flex or the 58g X flex that Ian had in this one? My swingspeed sits between 100-105 so was favouring the 54G S
That's the 54S as the bottom part of the shaft is gold. 58X is black

Seems like over the last few seasons Ian has really moved towards experimenting with over 45” length drivers. I remember rye beginning days of TXG and rarely anything over 45” was played or even mentioned
Correct Kaleb, I’ve been experimenting for the past 18 months and have seen a benefit from having a little extra speed.
Another great video Ian, but I have a question. What swing weight do you build out your driver? Very curious how overall weight differs from swing weight when building up a driver. I have an old 3 wood that is one of my favorite clubs to hit. The swing weight just feels right to me and I am quite comfortable with that club. Is there a way to reverse engineer a driver so that it has a similar feel to my favorite 3 wood. Swing weight just does not seem to be the only factor. This BGT Brava is quite temping with the numbers that you are showing, but the AutoFlex is not showing enough improvement over my gamer(OBAN Devotion 6 stiff). Thanks.
Not a builder at all, but i do know they can 100% measure the swing weight of a club you already have and then build a new club that has an identical swing weight.
Thanks for the reply…I was curious if the overall weight had any influence along with the swing weight. I have the driver swing weight the same as the 3 wood, but it still does not have the same feel to it. I didn’t know if the overall weight should be the same as well, but I am sure that there are nuances to trying to match the feel of the 3 wood that perhaps Ian might have an answer. Thanks

Is this going to be similar to auto flex in that it won’t work so well with a heavier club head like a ping for example?
No, it’s stiffer in the tip section so it can handle heavier heads.
Didn’t you say TR Blue was gamer in last Brava video?
I may have done, Kai’li has been in the driver the past few weeks though.

Thanks gents. What’s the profile of that Kai’li blue ? I play the Ventus Blue in my driver but looking for something with that same softer handle but a little bit softer in the tip to help me draw the ball
Kai’li will certainly be softer in the tip
section also with lower torque.
nothing wrong with going to a more flex shaft. i cannot swing a tx shaft anymore now that i'm 55 years of age... stiff is perfect for me. I want to feel my driver is very 'pliable' cos i want to work it through all launch and spin windows and paramaters. the big mistake most low amatuers make is they want to have same specs as their hero golf tour icon....no way...big mistake ...you must go with the shaft flex and shaft type thats right for your swing speed and swing profile

@@ianfrasergolf nice 👍🏾. I played Chicago golf club with a guy who had Autoflex, I eat him up for lunch. I was out driving him by 15 to 20 yards easy with my KBS TD shaft but I am definitely going to try BGT Brava preferably in the upcoming TSR Driver. Can’t wait 😜
