Its does work, you need to try it ! Just got fit for this shaft at TXG. Going from a Graphite Design IZ shaft to this, I have gained about 20 yards.......Thanks Dean (TXG Fitter) for your help.
I've only just realised how much difference a shaft makes. I was fitted with a 70gm xstiff shaft in my ping g425 driver 2.5 yrs ago when I started playing. In spite of lots of lessons and drills and practice I was still fighting a massive slice and I was disappointed with the distance. After some research I tried a few shafts and settled on a 60gm stiff 6.0 hazardous smoke rdx. The difference is amazing. It's almost impossible to lose right and it's just so easy to hit the ball straight now. I also picked up an easy 15mts of carry. I had a couple of swings with the old shaft which now feels like a telegraph pole and could feel the extra work I had to put in to try and square up the club face. I feel like golf just got easier.
Interesting. I almost did the complete opposite. I moved to an XStiff but at 65gm and I now hit them did straight (most of the time lol). I love how golf is not one size fits all. Everyone has their own journey
Currently gaming a 46" SpeederNX 50S. Tipped 2”, with my 8* TSi3 head @C4 (8.75* Flat). Neutral weight position and Swing weight @D5. Performs with similar tip action to my Ventus Red but with more load in the butt section. I went from a push cut/slice player, to a push draw/push player. Its free'd me up so much and the ball sails!
Really love the inclusion of the moving the weight to the toe. Let’s us know that it’s not Just a plug and play solution and that there is still risk (quick hooks) that come into play.
After Driver shaft testing this winter I was still looking for yardage. I purchased Garaffaloy ProLaunch Blue 45gm driver shaft. Installed at 45.5", picked up 20 yards and got better head feel. Based on this experiment a higher quality shaft could produce even more yardage.
Great video. Can I ask a few things about this? Why change from TSR2 to TSR3? What was the swingweight of both clubs? Presume longer should be heavier with same headweight so did you guys remove some weight? Thanks in advance
I would love to see a video about selecting pre-owned clubs using a small set of swing data to get you in the ballpark of a good fit. Learning from you all has made me want to get fit of course, but realistically used clubs are my price range. It would be great to have some rough idea of what I should look for based off of some basic swing data points like club speed, launch angle, spin etc. probably a big ask but just a thought! I know it’ll never be a perfect fit or substitute a day with you in the fitting bay but it would be awesome to be more educated pre-owned buyer. Thank you for all you do! As a customer success manager in software it feel our two worlds are very similar. Just looking at different data but helping people perform their best! You have made learning this stuff so fun ❤
I purchased a Vanquish 4S for my TSR1 - I found that I had to loft up 1.5* and go .75* upright. Once I make the adjustments, 8 drives had a variance of 5 yards left to right. I'm playing 45.75" in my TSR1. Looking forward to see what this can do out on the course.
NOTICE THE TWO DIFFERENT TEES: HE STARTED SHORT WITH HIS GAMER (GREEN) AND THEN WITH THE 40X HE USES THE HIGHER TEE (RED). HIGHER TEE UPWARD ANGLE OF ATTACK = LOW SPIN LOWER TEE DOWNWARD ANGLE OF ATTACK = HIGH SPIN The results are more of a reflection of tee height than the shaft but, that said, longer and lighter is a winning combo for more distance. I use a Kuro Kage 50x and love it!
Longer shaft; angle of attact changes so he needed a higher tee. They talk about the change in attact angle in video several times. Just changing the tee would not give the same results at all.
Been toying with this concept, but I'm using a more flexible shaft, trying to recreate the autoflex feel. Using a 45g ProLaunch Blue in A-flex, but dropped the 10g weight in my LTDx for a 5g, to keep the swing weight down. Unfortunately, it's freezing cold so I can't get out to hit it, but it feels fast swinging at home.
What's scary about this video is to think that Rory is 185 mph with a 6x Ventus , approx 70g at 45" and Cameron Champ is 190+ with the Hulk TX at 44.25" !!
Do you know how Mizuno's new 230 Driver, shaft is 3/4 inch short? I wonder if you guys could put in a normal shaft if it goes further and stays just as forgiven with higher club head speed.
I game a miyazaki c kua 45A flex , it made the club feel like i was in control . Dispersion really tightened and distance went up . Looks hideous seriously horrible but its staying in until i find something better . I had a kuro cage 60 silver stiff in prior to this which i struggled with , something different on every swing .
#txg Xcaliber has been making the avalon at 50g and Tour stiff for a bit. One of the best companies I've ever built with for tolerance and that particular shaft is very Stable. You should test those
I tested the Vanquish 4s and liked it. As a club builder though the cpm being down at 235 worried me. I bought the 4x (251 cpm) and this thing really delivers. I am right around 100mph driver swing speed. My question now is do I try a 5s in a 3 wood.
Nice video! So it's like 20% less spin with the lighter shaft? Interesting. Not sure how much TSR2 vs TSR3 makes of a difference there. Would be great later on even see some more light weight shafts on a driver, other brands, TX models etc.
Even with me approaching 60 I have tried lighter shafts in just about all my clubs but find I lose the feel of where and what the club is doing, which shot control becomes an issue. In my new irons I opted for the heavier graphite shafts then the stock option.
just wondering for an average inconsistent golfer would shorter length and lighter shaft be a good combination .. shorter for accuracy but lighter for speed? would be a good test
I’ve been making these for our group for a while one thing required with a taller tea for them I don’t know why maybe you can tell us but taller tee definitely helped
A couple of questions, what kind of adapters do you all use? And what do you like and don’t about them? Are there any alternatives. Also are all of your fitting shafts gone through the pouring process?

Funny enough, yesterday I was whaling on my 9 yr old daughter's new driver, a junior Cobra LTDX with a 41" junior cobra shaft. I was hitting the thing within 10 yards of my gamer and the ball was going dead straight. I thought a short/light/junior-flex shaft would cause the ball to go all over the place and short and that wasn't the case.

Ian, I work at club champion at the Alabama location and I’m looking at buying a vanquish shaft when available. If I go 4x but I like playing my driver at 44.75” would you suggest maybe getting a heaving vanquish shaft or should that 4x be perfect?
It puts the ball in the window of long carry without balloning. (at the given ball speeds) physics! it like the old hose pipe trick the faster the water the more in the air you can point to get the water flow to reach further,
What is so unique about the Mitsubishi Vanquish shaft? It is super expensive, at least $365. Fujikura Air Speeder 40 has a 48 gram stiff flex and the new NX 40 has a stiff flex that weighs 50 grams. Ventus Blue comes in a 50 gram stiff flex according to the fitter at the PGA Superstore here who showed me one. Fujikura had a Rocket Fuel 50 X flex shaft that weighed 53 grams that was a stock shaft on the RBZ Stage 2 driver. Mitsubishi Diamana has a 50 gram stiff version. There are numerous others. Would you recommend that someone interested in a very light weight stiff shaft consider models released a couple of years ago as opposed to the newest and most expensive ones?

I like the concept of your videos however please consider using testers that are like average golfer with a driver speed in regular flex. I can’t even relate to the video as I don’t come close to swinging this hard
If you would put a counter weight in the butt end of that shaft at a standard 45.5” length, would that change the properties of the shaft at all. Just thinking that you can put that extra weight your saving using that light of a shaft, and make the driver have more MOI?
