      the umpires usually do not tell if the ball is in or out on their own every time. There are line judges who stand facing the line so they can see if it was in or out and use hand signals to send the message to umpire. The umpire can then go or change the call. I think that’s how it works.

      Overall very rare. If the umpire's call is based on judgement, never. If based on fact, then possible, because the umpire could get the simple fact wrong and get overturned by the supervisor, like in the Hsien - Cibulkova incident.

    I don't get one thing. In the last clip, Ostapenko served on the right side but the ball went to the right. Isn't that a fault? I mean, if you serve on the right, the ball must hit the left side. Sorry, I'm new to tennis.

  • @sorinnica3437
    @sorinnica3437 5 років тому

    Nice videos with subtitles. Perfect.
    About last ball (serving directly in the oponent body)I always wonder what would happen if this is happening and this is the first time I see it. ATP/WTA must give a rule for this and the empire can overrule the body shot calling it out. There are several cases when you can hit a masive shot directly in the other player's body while the other player is clearly outside the tennis court. Avoiding a rapid ball comming at you from oponnent have nothing to do with tennis skills.

  • @DonLee1980
