Gotta love the quality assurance people doing their job. Glad you could make it work. Had to buy a MAF sensor for Nissan Sentra, 320 dollars, for a sensor, from the stealership. Straight robbery. Nissan is the last on my list for vehicles.
I can totally relate, last example, got a set of capa certified headlights for 2011 honda crv. After install, found out light pattern was messed up. Had to send them back.
I've had no issues with rockauto parts . 71 retired lineman diyer. Have not ordered any aftermarket headlights as of yet. Long time subscriber . Update on my 20p6 Subaru sti with a po302. Did not read otc leakdown tester properly. 90% leak on cylinder 2 no bueno valve issue. Still waiting on the call my guess $5000 or more
You were really lucky with those. Quite small problem, annoying though. When I put aftermarket headlights on my MDX, there was gap between headlights and fender like 3/8 inch. I put silicone in between 😀.
Once had an alternator from Amazon. Died after nine months. Lesson learnt and now only buy OEM parts. Even used parts from Japan last so much longer than aftermarket parts.
I'm not a huge fan of aftermarket parts but TYC makes good aftermarket lamp assemblies. I'm not sure what brand you bought there but I probably would've returned it.
Ace Hardware has saved my butt several times to replace crap from Asia. Also miniature hex screws for a guitar bridge. Better still, they are only about two miles away.
I don't have any Chinese-made parts on my Nissan 370, OEM or aftermarket. My aftermarket parts have been made in either Japan, the US or Germany and I have never had any problems with them; for fit, function or reliability.
Sadly, Amazon is going to probably end up destroying places like Ace Hardware. They already have to charge ridiculous markups for things like screws, just to keep the lights on, because nobody buys the bigger ticket items from the stores any more. I'm as guilty as anyone.
In most cases you can find out who makes the OEM part and get it at a substantial discount. If you buy random Chinese made junk parts, then that’s on you.

Some OEM parts are definitely expensive, thanks for the input!

👍
I’m a stickler for using oem but have used TYC off Rock Auto and have been impressed with quality for value
I like TYC parts too, thanks for the comment!

No fun wasting time fixing stuff on new parts that's for sure, thanks for the input!
YO BIG 🐕, thank you again you can always use E6000 silicone for the seams
👍
Yes, very aggravating. I don't do near the work you do but I've had my fair share of sending parts back because they are crap... or the wrong part.
Definitely aggravating!!

Any suggestions on 2008 accord struts. Honda or aftermarket?
Those headlight assembly need to be just a little bit bigger huh

I like having an Ace close by!
Excellent info! By the way, do you use grease on electrical terminals such as the once you were working with. Thanks for the vid.
I typically do not pack electrical connectors with grease.
The big dog I got to ask you a question does the 2006 Honda Accord have differential fluid that needs to be changed out I don't know
So far I haven’t had any problems with 1A auto parts!
👍

I try to shop at places like Ace whenever I can. Thanks for the input!
Now you have to reajust the headlights beam for the road.then the job is done.
This was not a how to video, but yes headlight assemblies should be adjusted as necessary after install.
@BigDog50001 I just thought I would add that in.some people might not know that it has to be done.a great video.
Go to your scrapyard (if practical ,and like walking through scrapyards). It's only good for older models.
That can work sometimes, but other times the old part will probably be in the same or worse shape. Thanks for the comment!
YEP!!!
👍
Just return that 💩........
Not an option sometimes, then what do you do?
Hi Dave I know your true feelings on aftermarket parts . You just can’t really say it on the video . Thanks for sharing hope all is good . 🇺🇸 Artie

I like to use aftermarket parts from OE manufacturers when possible, but they are not always available for many parts.
You must improvise sometimes. It's critical thinking at its finest.
