I'm currently riding an 07 Yamaha Royal Star tour deluxe and LOVE that bike. I'm considering a second bike and was thinking of going with a different brand, but the Roadstar has me thinking another Yamaha wouldn't be a bad idea. The only issue I have is that the bike doesn't have electronic cruise control from the factory like my Royal Star. I like to do touring where I go out on the bike for a week doing about 400 or more miles in a day and for me, electronic cruise control is a must.
@@weron021 I was thinking after I typed that, "I could still get a Road Star and use it for day cruises and to ride local, the Royal Star would then be my trip bikes since it is an excellent road trip bike".
Nice video gentlemen , I own a exact same model and year (white and black ) with the same extras the only different with mine front fairing. Great motorcycle, looks great and with an unmistakable sound.
I love this video. I'll be looking to do some of this work on my '07 in the coming months. What did you use to clean the frame and rear shock? I'm thinking just a little soapy water. Thanks!
I'd sure love to know what sissybar and luggage rack that is. I can't seem to find one like it anywhere. Any help would be much appreciated. Great Video...
Ik this is an older vid. Just got a quick question. After u started it. What exactly was the fella adjusting with that screwdriver?? Looked like the pms still had the brass insert. Unless it was drilled off camera. Just curious. Thanks. Love the vid I have an 02 and an 04 love em!!
Why not do swing arm bearing while in there (why remove swing arm otherwise)? Did you get the carb? Setting PMS without air filter is not the best way. Why replace belt if not broke? Why remove/replace pulley nut and washer if it was tight?
The swing arm bearings needed more greace, Yes the carbs ware dane and we have adjusted the pms in spring, the belt was not replaced just cleaned and inspected, The puley nut did not have redlock tite at all, better be safe than sorry also I had a lot of time on my hands.
Just wondering how long you would think it would take to swap out a drive belt on one of those I'm about to start this weekend wondering how long it might take me
Used to be a Hard Core Harley guy until I got my 2005 last weekend. Yamamahammer rocks ! My favorite of all time.
Yamahas are extreamley good motorcycles, One of my friends has a roadsatr and it has 175K on it
These bikes are great. After 30+ bikes. This is one of my favorite cruisers. V Max, FJR, and several other yamaha
This best and simplest way show the fundamentals on a media that can be paused and rewind-ed,,,played multiple times nice job
Great work fellas!!

What tires are you running? They look awesome.
Those are AVON Cobras, out standing tire.
Nice can you tell me were you get that batwing i have the same bike and i want to put on a batwing?
The batwing was heavily modified and custom made, You may have to go to the dealer to get this done.
Well, 25 minutes of time lapse with no commentary.
That was my intention.
@@weron021 then it worked

You could do it in one afternoon max 3.5h , you have to remove the wheel and the frame axle. I
Can you recommend which shop manual to use? Or maybe I should drive up and just have you guys do that same maintenance on my 09 Road star
Hello I use the Shop service manuel, you can find this on Facebook, facebook.com/groups/45796756729 under More and than files.
Why Is the front end of a Yamaha so heavy and Stiff?
It is a heavy bike. Once on the road it feel fairley soft.
Making these into Beach bar bagger kind of bastardized The concept of this bike But looks good.
