To understand why Bord won with the owl, one must understand his argument. In Norway, we had a TV program where people who were missing legs, arms, etc. were to climb Norway's highest mountain. Bård asks Atle "if you're missing legs or arms, you're not a whole person then?" so Atle says he doesn't say no to that.
I'm fine with the owl. He get screwed over by the production for being given such a shitty balloon. On the other hand, it would be a boring solve if he had just been given a competent balloon. So I feel he turned around the situation in a good way and earned his points.
I launched a similar cargo on a similar budget 500 meters ago up, and many miles horizontally. Hot air ballon, baby. Made from many plastic bags glued into a 4 m ball, a burner made from a single coke can (keep the weight down), and petrol as fuel…
I don't think the owl task was judged incorrectly - like THEY provided him helium that would obviously not help him to get the owl in the air. If it was the same for others, they might have given them like 5 cm long rubber bands or similar useless s***... 200 NOK is something like 24 USD, it should be possible to get a smaller helium canister/can and balloons for that price.
Not that I've ever really looked for it, but I don't think helium canisters are too available here in Norway. I tried googling a little and the cheapest ones I could find cost around 300-400 NOK
@@alfhildr9678 interesting, I did a conversion of NOK to our currency and found a canister for 20 balloons even cheaper, but it may be a scam, most of them are a bit more. Either way, even if they deliberately set the price for not being able to get enough helium for the owl (which is quite a reasonable taskmaster logic), it's still ok for me that Bards solution was accepted as valid.
I also find his solution valid, I just thought I would give the production some support in their choice haha. I truly think helium was the worst thing he could've asked for considering the budget, and that the balloon they provided was the best they could do
maybe a kite set would work, too, and/or it would be fun. Or borrowing a real bird for a while, I suppose a hawk would be able to take this owl flying for a while :)
He only had 200kr to spend, that's only enough for one balloon. So I don't think it's a stitch up. They could probably have got one that at least could hold itself up though.
@@hfjvilu962 You can buy a helium tank kit for around $20 that would've had A LOT more helium. Hell, even if you just bought a bunch of smaller, less flashy balloons they could've gotten more helium than that. They went out and purchased the most over-priced balloon they could find, AND it was already half-flat. Either they couldn't be arsed to find a proper supply, or they did it to intentionally screw him over.
I think with the eye one, since only 3% of the owl made it into the air, they should still have counted his entry, but just divided whichever height he got, down to 3% of it. He’d still beat maria, as he should, his actual idea was good. But he didn’t deserve to win that one
I don't know if anyone else is having this issue, or if it's built into the video you are watching, but the second line of subtitles is getting the bottom half cut off. Is there a way to move the video box up slightly?
Does anyone know how to access the Taskmaster Norway episodes? They seem to have disappeared off of UA-cam in the last couple of weeks, and all that's left are Neil's reviews.
@@Amphibiot Thank you - I've found them! I did look in there before but clearly didn't look properly and only found the subtitle files so gave up. Much appreciated.
With the owl I'd have been impressed if one of the contestants had ordered 200Kr of weed and shared it with the owl, surely that would have counted to getting the owl high?
Twenty two dollars is less than twenty quid , Similar tasks in the UK generally get a bunch of balloons but the contestants have to attach them , usually losing most of them .woffles look value for money though . It's a great cast with a good mix of comic and competent . If everyone takes it too seriously TM. Loses its fun element.
Why do non-norwegians love Maria lol, I find her annoying. The Ylvis brothers and Calle are some of the funniest comedians ever! Maybe it's a language barrier thing?

Maria buying snacks and just throwing the owl is one of my favourite moments in the whole series. Maria + food is a winning combination.
Love the Norwegian version! Really hope you do the other seasons too🙌
S2 been out long

I would have creatively judged and given half the result.

This man is going to love the next seasons, for sure.
He didn't specify how much of the owl had to fly.. I agree with the decision

oh, falconry is not legal in Norway...
You need to do season 2 of Norwegian taskmaster. It is really good
Owling with rage over that . Loving Maria's attitude to the show . It's a really good alternative until the new series starts .
They screwed over the one guy who asked for helium. It was "a stitch up" as the British say.
yes. I don't see any reason why punish Bard for someone else's incompetence.

But is it Børds fault if the helium balloon was terrible and half deflated, that's probably why Atle gave him the win

Reddit. You'll find the later seasons too.

I'm on Team Waffle. Those looked great.

Would have been entertaining, but probably not a good idea considering drugs are illegal in Norway
Its 100% illegal
Greg and Alex will be back with the next bunch of misfits starting April 14

1:52 Poorly/badly delivered, Minnie Mouse.
I agree the points of this episode were crap. Like...how?

As a Norwegian, I love her in this show. But I am a fan of the Ylvis brothers and Calle as well.
I totally gree with you regarding the owl. DQ every time. Suspect bribery.
I agree with you, the owl task was rigged. An eye does not count as an owl
