Each programme was themed and it ran for 6 weeks
"in the land of Films"
"in the land of Legend"
"in the land of Books"
"in the land of Theatre"
"in the land of Nursery Rhymes"
"in the land of Pantomime"
In this clip she sings The wonderful Donovan composition "Guinevere"
Lyrics
Guinevere of the royal court of Arthur
Draped in white velvet, silk and lace.
The rustle of her gown on the marble staircase,Sparkles on fingers, slender and pale.
The jester he sleeps but the raven he peeps through the dark foreboding skies of the royal domain.
Maroon coloured wine from the vineyards of Charlemagne
Is sipped by the queen's lips and so gently
Indigo eyes in the flickering candlelight,such is the silence o'er royal Camelot.
The jester he sleeps but the raven he peeps through the dark foreboding skies of the royal domain.
Guinevere of the royal court of Arthur
Draped in white velvet, silk and lace.
The rustle of her gown on the marble staircase, sparkles on her fingers both slender and pale.
The jester he sleeps but the raven he peeps through the dark foreboding skies of the royal domain.

The most beautiful lady and voice i folow her since 1968. Great woman!
Beautiful, beautiful, she is a great girl and voice,!
She is SO beautiful!
I had always liked the Donovan original of this song, but see now that this song was really meant for Mary Hopkin as the perfect fit.
Yes, she sang his songs beautifully. I so wish she had done lots more!

thanks 2 donvan to.
@richpat I emailed her web site..they dont have the video available either...wah ta pity.
@richpat How awful. They couldnt find someone who owned an Estate to keep the tapes housed for the shows they wiped? Well USA also wiped MOST of the Johnny carson show..first appearance by The Byrds, Simon and garfunkel. They wiped Bob Dylan on a show in 1964. Gone forever. Oh well...glad you have the audio/.
@DavelovesRealMusic
The recordings from Mary's "in the land of ..." tv series that I have posted here on UA-cam were recorded onto a reel to reel tape recorder from the TV when they were broadcast in 1970. There were no videos made. The bbc wiped the lot bless their misguided hearts...
yes quite right, Well done Don! but I have acknowledged him over on the right hand side (in the more info section)
that's ok I knew what you meant...
Is this Show available on DVD (video not just audio) ?
@DavelovesRealMusic Sadly no.

Yes, what a disappointment is this one
Why would this be a disappointment? this and the Crosby song are two completely different songs?
