Thanks very much. Yes, I agree, nature poetry is a much under-appreciated poetic form. Why shouldn't we honour mystery, magic & wild growing things? I love it, even if more commonly encountered these days in suburban spaces. We live to share & seek wholeness. I've really enjoyed discovering your channel. I hope you stay creative & productive.
Your dog is so cute. Sylvia Path said nature is a gift to a young poet, I'm with her. Showing appreciation for mother earth will never get old in my book.
Thanks for introducing us to Australian poets. I can hear the love of language in your poems and in how you read the poems of others. I think keeping alive the love of nature in a world where we're often alienated from it is all the excuse we need to keep writing nature poetry.
That's glorious feedback - thank you. You might like my episodes on Sylvia Plath & A.R. Ammons too. I have another video on the poetics of place also, 'Know Your Place'. Good to connect in poetry.
Yes, I love Mary Oliver, I read a lot of American poetry actually; after Archie Ammons some of my favourites are Kathleen Kenyon, Donald Hall & Gary Snyder. Thanks for watching.
I love how you describe the waves 👋I love nature poetry.

Just uploaded my new video on magic & fantasy. Hope you like this one.
Thank you for sharing your poem, so vivid so strong.
Thanks. Ah, poetry...

Ah, Billy-Blue, the light of my life. Yes, I love Plath's wonderful mature poetry of place. It makes you ache for what else she may have written.
Thank you for the Australian nature poems Philip and for generously sharing two of mine on the video.
I love your poetry, Moya - a joy.

Then, of course, there are the confessional poets: Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton, Denise Levertov, WD Snodgrass, Robert Lowell, John Berryman...
Oh, I also love William Stafford, Charles Wright & Lorine Niedecker.
@@apoetreadstowrite so many I need to explore!
@@booksoffthebeatenpath: American poetry is breathtaking. So much to love.
