I used to love teaching Beowulf. I also taught John Gardner’s novel, Grendel. Seamus Heaney is such a treasure. You seemed to have such great fun with this tag! 😊
Oh, I don't know the Gardner novel, must look that up, thanks for this.Yes, I had a blast making this video. I am so enjoying BookTube, what an awesome lark, so life-giving.
Hi Phillip, thank you so much for doing my tag, It's been brilliant watching fellow booktubers having so much fun with it. Your answer to prompt 5 was perfect, Billy Blue is adorable, our dog friends are truly wonderful aren't they. I remember reading part of Beowulf in English class in the 80s. Our teacher asked us to write our favourite part and we could illustrate it if we wished to, she possibly regretted that when she saw the dismembered limbs and red pencil scrawled all over my exercise book. I'll have to read Beowulf, I think it's something I'd very much enjoy, your folio edition is a thing of beauty.
I have a bit of a problem with The Folio Society, but it's a nice problem. Their books are such treasures. Yes, this Beowulf edition is to die for - a thing of astounding beauty!
Hello, Phillip! Good lord! You've peaked my interest in Beowulf now. We read it in high school, but no teenager can really appreciate a lot of the famous works. Happy reading and your t-shirts are fantastic 📚 ✌️😃
Thanks for such a generous & affirmative response to my video, especially during this hectic period of change & stress, for you, hope you get some rest now. Recharge? Stay strong & creative.
Although I have long been acquainted with him I have never read anything by Seamus Heaney! I think i might need to remedy that when I can especially since I am probably due for a Beowulf reread. Thanks for sharing!
I've just done my own version! Loved your take; especially the oral tradition. You'd love the British Library. I will release my take in a week or so. Thanks for the tag!
