1) These are real people with real lives and real families who love them. Don’t let the numbers sap your humanity.
2) These numbers probably aren’t accurate but they’re the best we have and we don’t need them to be accurate to be indicative of patterns of activity.
3) All losses are estimates. Losses cannot be counted with accuracy because of the conditions on the ground.
4) Both sides would see it to be of their advantage to minimize their own losses maximize the other side’s losses.
5) Neither side releases their losses but we have enough transparency from the Ukrainian side to have confidence in they are indicative.
6) Personnel losses are hard to count. If a soldier gets injured, heals up, and returns to the front line only to get injured again, is that one loss or two? Also, how to deal with losses from PMC’s or soldiers fighting with RF from occupied territories?
7) Equipment losses are hard to count. If an AA complex involves several parts and one part gets disabled, is that a loss, or a fraction of a loss? If a tank gets disabled, repaired, back into the fight, then disabled again, is that one lost tank or two?
8) All recorded losses are vulnerable to multiple reporting. We have already seen numerous cases of multiple drones in the air reporting the same loss from different angles as multiple engagements.
9) Losses are not always reported on the same day they occurred. It is frequent that drone losses are reported at least 24 hours after other terrestrial equipment losses. Certain losses may not be reported for days or weeks for military intelligence reasons.

You are most probably correct.
In the last few months, the Russians have amassed troops and materiel north of the Ukrainian border.
The first push came south of Belgorod towards Kharkiv.
Budonov might be correct in that particular push will taper off in 3-4 days, but those troops will likely hang about to fix the Ukrainians while a second push comes in the Sumy region.
The Sumy administration have already indicated to the population of Bilopillya and Vorozhba that they should start evacuating.
This indicated to me that the Ukrainians are ready for them.

PBV 501 An upgraded BMP used by the ex East Germany. Used by Sweden after being upgraded in the Czech Republic.
Wow I am shocked on the Kharkiv Lost equipment list! But I think it is because they have not entered far enough into Ukraine. Their are some of the BEST Brigades and Units up their where they have been waiting and planning for the Russians to come across the Border, but I know the Russians have not reached those Units yet. And I cannot publicly say how far they are from the border and where. But I will tell you this! Russia has a 0% chance of making it more than 4-12 km into Ukraine! They couldn't take Kharkiv with 100,000 Troops! I really think it would take at least 250,000 Troops and Loads of Equipment, which I know they do not have! It took 300,000+ Troops to take Kharkiv and make their way close to Kyiv, and they were defeated around Kyiv and kicked out of Kharkiv not long after the Full Scale Invasion. So all these troops & equipment Putin is sending in the North Across the Border are Cannon Fodder! I would love to know the Units and Brigades the AFU are encountering! That would tell a good story and give a great picture to know exactly what Putin's plan is in the North! Which I think was stupid and is going to come back to bight him in the A$$, cause WE/AFU is going to get through the Dnipro Delta and Krinky and other areas to take Crimea! We have the forces to make a push on Crimea once we have enough Weapons which will be soon I think, and Russia doesn't have the Reserves or enough Troops in Crimea to Defend it. And when that offensive starts, that is when the Kerch Bridge be taken out, you will see more ships sunk, cause the only other way to get support and supplies to Crimea would be Amphibious Landings! And Russia are dumb enough to do it! And we would destroy everything in No Time! So I have heard lot's of say chatter of a Attempt on Crimea Soon! Which we can do, while still defending the Eastern Flank and the North! Actually I believe Russia would then Divert their troops in the North To Crimea.... Just because I swear I have never ever in 43 years seen a Military work as Stupidly as the Russian Military does! They have not learned how to wage war since pre 1900's! They are still going by the same fricken Manual as Pre 1900! Stupid! But anyways keep your eyes open just the WORD IS SH$T IS GOING TO GET SPICY SOON! Maybe not tomorrow or the next day, but soon! I do now, knowing some of the things I do, and the Actions of Both Militaries, chatter, etc. that we have the chance maybe if we get enough equipment and munitions that Russia lose Crimea, start to lose ground in the East, and Putin tries to Negotiate, Putin finally withdraws do to the Public, or may even lose the Kremlin this year!!!! "shoot and scoot" typically is wise, however, since Russia lacks sufficient counter battery radar and due to the proliferation of drones, it's probably currently unwise. Several variables involved.
YEP, rain here I shake and tremble like a field rat on an electric fence.
SHOOT N SCOOT: Jonathan, it is very much a still useful tactic. Losses of towed artillery in the stats still vastly outnumber self-propelled guns. Yes, there are losses now, but tactics have changed to compensate.
Old shoot n scoot relocated 10 km, whereas now it may be a half km. Warfare adapts to the threats.
I would think if they don't scoot, the enemy can geolocate and fire back 🤷♀️ but I'm no expert

A new day with yet another record number in the personnel category, immediately breaking thru yesterday's stats (1340,1780,1400).
Though these numbers certainly are unsustainable, it would be interesting to see a breakdown of the losses (current, time series and totals) by state, nationality, ethnicity, religion and income.
Because these losses do not seem to have an impact on the seats of power, some interesting inferences could and should be made.
The assumptions should then be empirically tested if the underlying data are valid and reliable.

About the lancet part in your hits/losses part, I personally don’t think it has much to do with them building more, it might be that they better adapted those to resist jamming / gave them overall some upgrades to improve them, but considering how long that would have took them to upgrade/improve them is quiet a lot of time looking how unreliable (or however you chose to call them) in earlier days were compared to now, I could be wrong about this it’s just what I assume happened, love the videos keep up the good work! ❤

The U.S. Military would never just have one archer firing and scooting. They would have Geppards or other drone tracking equipment with heavy machine guns and targeting. Along with spotters. I don't know but it seems like they need all the countries the equipment comes from to send training teams because they need command and control and combined arms training on all this different equipment. The Pbv-501A is a Swedish "panserbandvagn" - basically an upgraded ex East-German BMP-1 - manufactured by BAE systems in Hägglund.

The "shoot-n-scoot" approach to artillery has, indeed, evolved fast & repeatedly over the last 2 to 3 years. South Korea seems to have, perhaps accidentally, come up with a rather elegant solution. They'd planned to retire their 105mm guns a while back, but are sitting on something like 3.4 million 105mm shells (there are, indeed, talks going on now about sending a load of those to Ukraine via the US) which would have just been left to gather dust & go to waste.
So, rather than retire them all, they took a portion of their 105mm guns, removed part of their chassis, modified them & set them on the rear of some light infantry vehicles to create fast, mobile artillery that's not significantly larger than the guns had been on their own before removing parts of the chassis. This allows the artillery piece to sit in place within a fortified structure of essentially the same size as one made for the towed version of the same artillery piece, but also enables it to move, and move quickly, when it needs to.
An interesting thought that's been put forward recently was to do something similar with 155mm artillery systems like the M777 by modifying them to fit onto specially modified versions of the tracked, unmanned Ripsaw M5 which would be paired with a light vehicle for the crew, artillery system parts and/or ammunition. An interesting concept which Ukraine might find advantageous to pursue using other vehicles, and with their domestic experience producing the Bogdana and unmanned systems, would not be outside their wheelhouse.
I've read that after most if not all wars, when all the tables of mortality and injury are drawn up, the largest cause of death/injury is Disease, non-battle related stuff. Drinking poisoned vodka. Often wondered how the russians handle it. Wonder if the Ukrainian stats take these elements into their tallies. Also, I imagine Missing is a large category.

What happened with the Ukraine comander not puutting land mines and fortifications. It is said it might be dabatage or incompentence?
Imagine 30k troops in just a month on average out of the fight for Russia. Imagine being in the Russian military and going forward seeing all those around you just disappearing and probably witnessing death in terrible ways. Just amazing they keep pushing forward. So hard to fathom.
I imagined, however, the concentration camp from which a man cannot leave, in which people are caught and sent to war, is not in Russia, but in Ukraine.

Attacking trains with drones is the equivalent to WW2 fighter attacks/strafing runs on trains. Very good idea !
It block the railways as well. When the Allied did that over France before the invasion it messed up German logistics quite a lot.
I think we have to consider that a lot of the information being posted on media about how vulnerable Ukraine is during this current Ruzzian offensive is meant to lure the occupiers in to a place where they can be contained or destroyed. There has to be something going on with the intelligence services to make the enemy overconfident. Right? I keep thinking that is what the United States has done during all of their wars since WW I. My brother was a career officer in the army and he always told me that if it is in the papers, it is only what they want the public to know. They always have something in motion to defeat the enemy.

IMO Belousov is being temporarily assigned to further integrate the Russian MIC into the military and streamline procurement and logistics processes.
He'll be tossed aside once those objectives have been achieved to a "satisfactory" degree.
On Patrushev and Dyumin, it is more likely that being moved in as assistants to the president brings them in under closer control going forward.
In any case, all the machinations going on in the upper echelons of the Kremlin's military power structure, point to internal strife and power plays between opposing factions - which you would expect under very differing scenarios, although it is too soon to determine which one.

I'm starting to get a couple of issues with these stats. If the state of repoted losses is known then there is an image of this. Surely someone on the Ukrainian side can compile a geo location list to back up the claims. There are claims Russia is down to 18%of its artillery. Surely presenting evidance of the losses can ony help the claims. We also need to see satellite images of the defence lines are the prepared positions for tanks and artillery manned or empty. Once these lines are stripped we know its dire strates.

Why are people so concerned about loss claims? If the enemy attacks and kills, it doesn't matter how they do it.
@@putin-khuylo_putin-khuylo it's not silly at all these combat losses are reported daily to command. This is how daily loss figures are worked out and presented in daily releases. If the proof is provided it will prove the daily figures. The figures are important as they tell us the Russian ability to wage war. If the losses posted about Russian artillery is correct something like 82.6% claimed as destroyed. At some point if factual gaps in artillery cover will start to occur. If we look at the constructed Russian defence lines are the prepared positions occupied or not. If not occupied it would lend weight to the claims. If said positions become vacant it again proves the stats. So try engaging brain before trying to tear opinions apart.

Not yet. They are like the HIMARS missiles cobbled from small diameter bombs and spare missile stages. They work in test, but combat is the proof.
What interesting is that the CIA does not have ROE even when they communicate with USA military because they can go and hit russia because they are not part of any military. I just throw this as a thought. I would like anyones input.

I have to disagree with you and the Kremlin watcher a bit about the appointment of the new Defense Minister as "coup insurance." Keep in mind that coups do not always originate at the top level. Often, they are started by mid-level officers who have felt stymied by the brass higher up. For instance, Muammar Gaddafi of Libya was a colonel when he launched his coup. In a way, this reshuffling may actually make a coup by mid-level officers more likely, due to increased isolation of Putin and his new man from the military as a whole. Of course, Russia is not Libya, so the circumstances may not be the same.
