Awesome Video! I had coolant fan related error code and searched for fan replacment of my 991.1 but most of video said that the radiator hose need to be disconnected. Since I didn't want to coolant air tight refill process, I have delayed this fan replacement job last few month. This video is for boxster but it seems like 991.1 has quite similar structure I am sure. Again, really appreciated on this video❤❤❤❤
Underneath the skin, the 981 and 991 are the same platform with some changes to swap the engine/transmission around, so most of what I've posted applies to both cars.
Very little. From what I've seen on this car the condenser acts as a pretty good filter for the radiator fan behind. There was a bunch of little stones in the frame around the fan at the rear. I've heard people have issues here with these getting stuck in the fan and jamming it.
Adding a mesh in front of the radiators will protect the radiator front stone damage and filter some of the bugs and leave from clogging the radiator coil. Many utube videos on how to install the mesh.

How much debris had collected between the two elements? I keep hearing that removing and cleaning should be an annual task.

do not understand there is no grill in the front bumper to protect the AC condenser against stones

For what the radiators do they are pretty small, so not impeding the airflow might have been a consideration.
