- The following video answers all the questions I have received on my experience with the Gyrocopters Flash 3.0 electric scooter.
Questions:
1) How long does it charge?
2) How long does the battery last?
3) How far can I go on a single charge?
4) Can you manually push pedal the scooter?
5) Does the battery still hold a charge?
6) How is the wear and tear?
7) Why did I choose an electric scooter over a bike?
5) Have you wiped out on the scooter?
This is based on my experience of riding it exclusively for 2 months as my main mode of transportation to work.
If you wish to purchase the scooter: Check out the following website: www.imgadgets.com/collections... - Наука та технологія
Great real world review. Well done and explained. Thumb up!
1) This is a very good informative video 2) I love seeing the scenes of Winnipeg!
Hey there. Sorry for the late reply! Glad you liked the scenes from Winnipeg. I'll put some more montages together from my rides in areas around Winnipeg.
Finally someone from Winnipeg. ❤ great reviews 😊
Shout out to a fellow winnipeger. Thanks for the comment
Watched this and went and ordered one tonight. Thanks!
Hey there! Glad you ordered one and I hope it gives you the freedom to get out like what you wanted. Don't be afraid to shoot me an email or comment after you get it.
Hey, after 4months of use, what do you think about your purchase?
I am confused between ninebot es2 and this one.
Thanks for answering the questions!
This review series on this scooter is awesome. Especially seeing a real world review on the Winnipeg roads and streets. I've been considering this scooter along with similar spec'd Gotrax and Kugoo scooters, and so far this is taking a good lead. Hopefully you do a 1 year review.
Thanks for the feedback. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm not familiar with the other brands, however I still believe this is best bang for the buck. Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy to help.

I have a question I disconnected what I thought was the speed limiter wire so I could make my gyrocopter flash 3.0 escooter faster but now it just turns off once I let go of the on button. And if I hold the on button I get an e10 error. I tried reconnecting it but it still seems like I hit a preventative measure kill switch type thing that the company probably installs into them so we do do that. But I'm sure there's a way to fix it. Amy suggestions?
Hi , i have had the scooter for about 2 months and i washed it today and charged it after drying, i was riding it to my gym and felt that the acceleration was slower in speed mode, do you know a fix to this maybe?

Hi just wondering dyk how to change the indicator from miles to km. Please let me know thank you.
Great video. Can you tell me where I would find a replacement battery with the same connectors that won't break the bank? I'm having some difficulty in that department. Much obliged!
Your video answered almost all of my questions. I am trying to see if there is an easy method to lock the scooter up to a bike rack. I don't think school will let my kid park it inside, and it looks too big to fit in a locker. Do you have any thoughts or recommendations?
What about winter in Winnipeg can you use that ?

Hello! How do you switch from high speed to low speed pls?
Hello I know you said that the battery lasted 28km but I'm kinda dumb with all that and was wondering if there was anyway you can tell me how long in hrs/mins it lasted.

Hi I didn't charged my bike for 2 months and now it is not charging. Do you have any idea what I can do?
How does this compare to the Flash Pro Max
How to adjust the handlebar height?
Sorry if I missed this, but is it water resistant in case unexpected rain? Unfortunately, these are still illegal in Toronto....
HI there, it doesn't come with an IP water rating. This is a budget scooter, so I don't anticipate it can handle down pours or big puddles. When I do get it wet, I try and wipe it down right away when I reach my destination.
How fast have you gotten this to go
Mines randomly turned off while riding and doesn’t turn on anymore what do I do?
How does it do up inclines?
Thank you for the insight information regarding this scooter. I would like to buy one and I like that this one as it is not as heavy. I am not young so the weight is important to me. I wonder if this escooter works on a street which is moderately inclined- say 20degrees. I live in suburban Toronto which is not all flat. Thank you again. your video help me tremendously.
Do you know if the rain would ruin this scooter? I saw there is a protective cover for the dashboard
Hi there, I wouldn’t ride it in heavy rain. I ridden once in light drizzle and the dashboard was fine. I made sure timo wipe everything down when I got home.
first time to use it. is this easier to use than the gotrax v2? this one is in black friday sale in walmart so wanna know thanks!
Sorry man. I haven't tried the gotrax v2. I've tried several scooters now. All the sub $1K scooters feels and handles the same to me.
I think this review is fine when the model is new. I bought it and after 4 months several issues with the electronic happened, and I tend to do not use it a lot. The reasons why I do not recommend to buy it it is because the factory does not provide a instructions manual which commons issues or other support. When I contacted them in order to get the documentation, they said "We recommend for you to send it out for repair, either with us through our repair center, or to a local repair shop, as we do not have any available documentation to remedy the situation". Also After 90 days, they can still assist you with the repair, however the following charges will apply:- $35 + tax diagnostic fee, and any replacement parts are extra. Try to buy a better scooter.
Hello, I purchased the scooter on September 14th and I'm experiencing shortages with the use on the scooter. Have you experienced it during the ride where all the sudden the speed decreases and the motor cuts off?
I have, 3 bars sometimes 4 bars left and it just cuts off and dies.. I'm trying to figure out why
Do you ever lock it outside, like when you need to go to the grocery store? And how/where would you lock it
Hi there. Sorry for the late reply. No, I don't lock it outside. That is one downfall of a scooter is it is very hard to lock. The one time I had to get groceries, I ended up carrying it inside with me with was a pain.
Is it water proof
How is it going uphill?
How tall are you - asking for the handle bar height. Also, do you feel vibrations when riding over rough pavement surface ?
Hi there. i'm 5'9. Yes, you will feel the vibration over uneven sidewalks or rough payment.
@@TheWongReviewer Thanks. So the hollow tires are still rather stiff ?
@@Peppermint1 The tires are pretty stiff, that why you can feel everything. However, they are very robust and don't have to worry about popping them.

I have enjoyed this scooter very much just wondering what the clip beside the bell does?
Is it still working
I am pretty sure we have the same hat, lol. Great review of the product. I imagine once winter hits though, this thing may get parked? Or are you planning on studding the tires or adding some chains?
Hi, I am thinking to buy this e scooter. Question, say if you don't use it for a while, like winter time, what % you leave the battery off or you let it drain until is 0% or you just let it keeps plug in charge all the time?
Second question, does battery degrades in the winter time(less range)?
I don’t ride in Winter i Winnipeg as it can get down to -30 c and lots of snow. I put the last gen escooter in my basement for 5 months during last winter. I charge it once a month while in storage so it doesn’t go to 0.
Batteries will discharge quicker in cold. However i haven’t tested this myself. Coldest i have ridden it is 10c and had didn’t fine battery drained any quicker.

I am trying to figure out why there is a bluetooth symbol that briefly flashes when you power on sometimes. It isn't supposed to be bluetooth compatible so why is it there?
Hi there. This isn't bluetooth enabled.
Hey, I just had a question should I buy it from the website in the description or should I buy it from the Walmart website I'm just debating on which one is more trusted and I am a little scared that if order from Walmart say for example I won't get the same scooter you got or if I order from the website in the description I will get that grey color shown in one of the pictures of the scooter.
Hi there. You want to choose from a retailer that has a good return policy. You want to make sure the scooter is in good working order when you first get it.
If you notice something is wrong, you want to make sure you have a hassle free return experience.
@@TheWongReviewer Thank you so much!
After watching your videos I solidified my
decision and bought the gyrocopter flash 3.0. Very happy with my decision, have been riding everyday to and from work for a little over two months now and have only had minor issues.
My commute is about 4km (im in Toronto) so im running a full battery too and from everyday. Always in "S" mode going full speed aside from stoplights,
and charging each night as well.
I have noticed the handlebar screws coming loose (countless times). The clip for the folding mechanism loosens off frequently, making for difficult collapsing. Just this morning the button got stuck underneath the display and I had to remove the plastic cover to realign the button.
Mechanically sound, wear and tear practically non existent, and the convenience is out of this world! Im at work in less than 10 minutes. No traffic, no gas, and no theft.
Do you have any new realizations with the scooter? Are you still commuting with it everyday? (I imagine 10+ months now) Just curious what to expect in the coming months:) I appreciate your time.
Thanks for the feedback and comments.
Then handlebars have come loose for me a few times. What I did was take silicon tape, wrapped the threads and screwed it in. Hasn't come loose since.
In total I used the scooter for 6 months and had no issues with it. I just like the fact that the tires are puncture proof. Unfortunately in Winnipeg, we had a really long winter followed by torrential rain and flood. I've only managed to use it for one week in May.
It still works fine. I just recently sold it and upgraded to an Apollo Ghost.

I run a Yamaha BWS50 for larger travel distances, but want this as a "last mile" vehicle that I can throw in the trunk of my car.
Question is: How is the parts support for this model? Do you have any experience dealing with the manufacturer?
Thanks again, cheers from River East.
Uncle.
Hey! A fellow Winnipeger! Nice to meet you.
I am fortunate enough that I haven't had to get any parts replaced. I honestly don't expect to get any support from the retailer or manufacturer. These escooters are all variations of the same Chinese copies that is rebranded by different companies (including ninebot (segway)).
You're kind of on you're own when you buy one of these "cheaper" scooters.
I recently purchased a scooter from a Canadian Company called "Apollo Scooters" and they have service and parts in case you your scooter breaks down.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Just got this scooter, did anyone have to adjust the brakes when you get it? They sound quite noisy when activated.
Yes I had to immediately adjust the brakes, helped a lot. Also the ride was a bit rough. Did a small adjustment on the rear shocks, made a huge difference. Bumps are so much better now.
How to know when its full charged?

Is there any issue using it in the rain?
I could not find info about regen braking. I guess there is no regen braking in this model? thanks.
Hi there, sorry for the late reply. I wouldn't use it in the rain. It's not IPX rated to handle water. This is a base model. No regen mechanism.
@@TheWongReviewer the IMGadgets website itself does say this model features regen braking. On the gyrocopters flash 3.0 model page of their website it literally says “The Flash 3.0 also has a regenerative braking feature!” but I guess it is a lie.
Come to think of it, on your first video of this series as you are showing the box, one of the writings on the box said it has “e-abs”, which I guess is just another lie.

Is the battery removable? Does it have room for a second battery?
Hi there. It does not have a removable battery and unfortunately doesn't have room for a 2nd battery.

Still working?
Is it working good?
Hi there, you said on one full charge the scooter takes about 2 hours and 10 mins to completely die out ? Is that true. On ur other video it said it took you 17 mins for it to die. I’m confused here does it take 2 hours or 17 mins ?
Sorry for the misunderstanding. On a full charge it will last about 2.5 hours. That is on mixed use of speed. It will drain faster if you go full throttle the whole time.
Anyone know how to remove the speed limiter? On S mode it only does 26 klm too speed.
Hold the brake down when turning it on then release it immediately when it's powered on and quickly tap the throttle 5 times and it should unlock the speed limiter
I am curious to know if the scooter can manage any hills?
not well, if you have hills you are going to want 500 watts+ I have this scooter and after 2 weeks bought one that could go up hills and wouldn't slow down in heavy headwind. Another thing with this scooter is it doesn't tell you your real speed if your going down a hill faster then the setting max speed (20/25km/h) . You can be flying at 40Km/h down a steep hill with eco mode on and it will say your doing 20!
That being said on mostly flat I can get approx 20Km+ range from this scooter before I am 2 /5 bars of battery ( never ran it dead) and I am approx 100kilos.
Hi, how is this uphill performance like? , do you think 28km range would be good enough for casual use, Sorry this is gonna be my first scooter.
My apologies for the late reply. I missed this one. Honestly, 28km is good enough for casual use. You won't want to stand too long on the scooter as it does get hard on your lower back and shoulder. Once it gets to one battery bar, I would go and charge it. Happy to answer any other questions.
Hi is there any max temperature for the scooter. Like whats the max heat it can be used in and whats the max cold it can be used in.
Also is it water proof? Like if its raining can i use it?
Hi there. It doesn't have an IPX rating, which means it's not really waterproof at all. I wouldn't ride it in puddles or pouring rain.
Hi there, i'm not really sure what the max cold is. The coldest I used it is around 5 C. The battery kept it's charge and had no issues reaching max speed. However, at that cold, you really have to dress warm for it as you'll get the "windchill effect" that doesn't make it a pleasant ride.
Hi, can you adjust the height of the scooter? And how tall is the scooter out of the box?
Hi there, unfortunately, you can't adjust the height of the scooter. In terms of height, are you looking for ground to top of handle bar or from the deck to to the top of the handlebar?
@@TheWongReviewer deck to top of handle bars please
just asking how tall are you? i want to see if the scooter hight matches well wiht me
Hi there. I am 5'9, hope this helps
Thank you very much for this video. It has come in very handy for me right now with my decision-making. Can you please tell me - would this be suitable for a person who is 5.0 feet tall? I would like to buy this for my daughter who is turning 11 years old in a few days. Please let me know. Thank you in advance!
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, it's suitable for someone 5 feet tall. I have two boys, 13 and 11 and they both use it. The only caution, it does go quite fast at 25km/h. Make sure they learn not to over correct if the handle starts wobbling. She'll have a blast
@@TheWongReviewer Hey, no worries at all on any 'late' reply. Life! I get it! :) Thank you for the tip on not trying to over-correct. What would be the smart thing to do to handle a scooter that starts to wobble at higher speed? My guess is to simply get off the accelerator and let it sort itself out (but I could be wrong).
Btw - I ended up going with a different brand (GoTrax). The GoTrax XR Ultra is the one I went with. I has slightly less power (300 watt vs yours having 350 watts), but has more or less the same spec everywhere else in terms of performance (speed, distance, features). The thing that made me go with the GoTrax is b/c it has air-filled tires. I realize the Flash 3.0 has rear suspension, but I have a hard time accepting solid rubber wheels on an item that costs around $500. I suspect that the GoTrax will be smoother overall, just by the virtue of having pneumatic tires. (it must be the cyclist in me showing)
Also, the GoTrax handlebar height is 2 inches shorter than the Flash 3.0 , so that would be another (small) benefit.
I do prefer the larger battery and rear light of the Flash 3.0, but the wheels/tires were the deciding factor.
Thanks again for getting back to me, and for posting the vids in the first place. These types of vids truly are helpful to consumers.
Cheers from Toronto!
@@BadMonkeyFinger_Audio Congratulations on your GoTrax. Shoot me a message after you get it and let me know what your experience is like.
I hope my next scooter is air tires so i can compare the difference in ride quality.
Glad the video was helpful to at least help you make an informed decision.
Happy riding in Toronto!
@@TheWongReviewer So, the GoTrax was rec'd on October 6/21. It was used until Oct 10, when the accelerator stopped functioning. The error code on the display was 22e. According to the troubleshooting section of the GoTrax website, it is likely fixable by removing a panel on the steering column, and ensuring all connectors are properly bedded.
When I removed the panel to look, all connectors were intact, but I re-seated them anyway. Upon trying the controls again, they were still not functional. Point of note: inside the panel, the work done was EXTREMELY sloppy! There is a basic circuit board, with connectors and wires here and there. The glue holding certain components in place was literally strewn about everywhere, with a HUGE blob right in the middle of the circuit board. Terrible build quality, at least on the inside.
The physical, exterior build was ok, but the thumb accelerator's silver colour rubbed off in just three days. I also found the steering column to be kind of 'loose' (lots of play where it folds). But overall, the exterior is ok.
I can't really give you any useful info on how it performs, because we only had it a few days before it broke, and I didn't really ride it.
The worst part was that when I called Best Buy customer service, I was on the phone for a total of about 2 to 2.5 hours (off and on). The first 35 minute wait/ chat was cut short when the call went dead, and so I had to start all over again (being put on hold forever, only to have to re-explain the story once again to the CSR).
The BB CSR made an appointment for me with the Geek Squad at the closest BB location. I was told they would trouble-shoot the scooter, and if they couldn't fix it, they'd exchange it. I arrived half an hour early. I told the guys at the Geek Squad desk that I was 30 minutes early - I had a 6:20pm appointment.
The guys behind the counter gave me a puzzled look, and said they don't book appointments. Strange, but ok.
But then they said, 'we don't troubleshoot scooters... I don't know why they told you that, or even booked you an 'appointment', because we don't do that, either'.
Then I was informed that I had to contact the third party seller. I was pretty pissed off about the run-around. When I contacted the third party seller while at BB, the seller told me to contact BB! I was getting angrier and angrier by the second. We talked in circles for a bit, until finally, I was instructed to go back home, go to the website, contact seller, and request a refund.
Finally, once I got home, I simply called the third party seller and requested a return. After giving them the entire story, above, they've stated that they'll be giving me an unconditional return. Thank Goodness! But STILL! what a HASSLE! I still have to wait for the return label, and then bring the scooter to the post office. P.i.T.A.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do at this point... The Flash 3.0 is marginally cheaper, so maybe I should switch. Not sure what to do... I still prefer the rubber tires of the GoTrax.
Tell me - is the steering column on the Flash 3.0 very loose/ lots of play?

@@TheWongReviewer Pretty good, love airless tires, & it has sufficient battery for my commute to work.
@@EXultimate That's awesome. Glad it worked out for you and you're enjoying the ride.
will this can go uphill?
Oh yeah
Can it go up hills?
Hi there. Yes... however, you it can't be too steep and you'll have to hit it full throttle right before you climb up. In my video, i believe it shows me going up an on ramp.
Do they use lg or samsung batteries? Or do they use cheap chinese batteries? I have one and was wondering
Hi there. I'm not really sure. For this price range, I doubt it's a LG or Samsung battery. I would have to guess it's a version of a Chinese market one.
Would you ride in winter if roads cleared
I would if it was cleared. For me, it's the cold. There is a windchill factor when riding and wearing mitts would make it hard to use the thumb gear to accelerate and braking.
What type of helmet do you use please?
@@TheWongReviewer thank you!
What happens to the battery when there is a very cold day.
I live in Winnipeg too and just bought an e-bike and e-scooter. I'm scared to leave them locked on bike racks
yeah I agree. I work at 201 Portage and they have a bike locker there. Even with a camera pointed at it, we have coworkers get their bike stolen right out of it. I like able to put it at my desk
I’m 6’4”, do you think it will look off?
Hi there. LOL. Yes, you will really be hunched over the handle bars. I'm assuming at your height, that you may be a big guy. Just make sure you're not close to the max weight limit
@@TheWongReviewer Hey Good sir! Thanks for feedback, ended buying a KQi2 and bars are just fine! I weigh just short of 214 lbs
How to reset battery
My scooter’s speed controller is not working. How can I fix it?
HI there. Just confirming do you mean the speed control from Normal to Sport mode?
No,the speed controller is not working. It is no response when I use the scooter.
Hey buddy, I have couple of questions.
I'm thinking of buying this model. As I'm a student I'm pretty tight on money and this one seems affordable. I may not be using it daily, but I'll use it for 4-5 days a week for sure. I think 25Km mileage is quite good, but the only thing I'm worried about is how long will this scooter last i.e for how many months/years in good condition if I don't use it heavily as mentioned only 4-5 times a week.
As a student I can't afford to put in 500$ for just some months you know what I mean.
I haven’t used this for more than 1 riding season ( 6 months) as the other months are too cold or full of snow.
I don’t ride through heavy rain or puddles so it should help with pro-longing the lifespan. The tires are solid, so i’m not concerned about popping them.
In terms of holding charges after long term use, i won’t know until i start riding it again in May.
@@TheWongReviewer have u started riding again. If so, how is the battery/range.
@@midgitlad968 Hi there, I was finally able to ride it last week to go to work. The battery and range seemed on par with what I got since I last used it. I'm selling it next week as I upgraded to the Apollo Ghost.
I had this scooter until it got a e3 error code and it related to the brake
Same I don’t know what it means
