The Segway GT2 is a dual motor electric scooter with over 6kw of combined peak power weighing in at 116 lbs. Similar to the previous Segway scooter I reviewed, the actual performance of the GT2 was more impressive than the website lists. They claim the Segway gt2 can do 0-30mph in less than 4 seconds, which was accurate, but that claim is conservative considering the numbers I was able to achieve as a 200 lb rider. The top speed is listed as 44mph but my on board speedometer showed 48mph at one point, although I do believe the speedometer on the Segway gt2 reads just a little bit fast compared to my gps speedometer. Segway gt2 range will likely land just shy of 30 miles if you ride the way I do in this review video, but if you're a bit more conservative on the twist throttle you could potentially achieve the 55 mile range claimed by the Segway website.
All things considered the Segway gt2 is one heck of an electric scooter from a brand who's been in the game for decades and know how to do things right.
I've been waiting on this from you ! Still looking to pull the trigger when the price drops again. I will use your link for purchase. I like your review style.
The price has dropped significantly, did you ever purchase one?
I just happened to watch your first scooter review before this and can easily see the difference in your riding. You're definitely more comfortable on a scooter!
Nice review. Covered all the bases. Well presented. I have the Megatron Edition, love the dark paint scheme and the red daytime running lamp. I forgot that I can select between one or two wheel drive.
I haven't had a scooter yet just e-bikes, but wow that thing is fast. Looks like loads of fun.
amazing review. i love your spirit and your detailed analysis. how does this compare to the inmotion rs midnight, specifically in regard to front end stability? because of the dual fork. voromotors let me test ride everything except the rs. and any thoughts on the dualtron city with its huge tires? cheers!
Super good looking design your video really makes me want one
Listen and listen very carefully, while this is a great electric scooter, I have found it impossible to get replacement brake pads from Segway. Without replacement brakes, this scooter is useless. Until brake pads are available, I’ll prefer to live.
Can you fit aftermarket?
@@alexanderamalfi3003 I have not been able to find anything that fits after market. There’s some on eBay that claim to fit but they don’t. Segway needs to get their poo together
😂😂
Thanks for that important info!! 😃👍
Ah oui, tu as vraiment bien cherché ! 😂 , deux secondes m’ont suffit ! 😂
A super solid scooter. This would be good daily transportation. I like the thick stem and extra power. Thanks Matt.
I'll explain it once more about the dual motor efficiency thing: to reach a fixed amount of speed you need x amount of power. So for cruising at 10 mph you need 100w, for cruising at 25 mph you need 300w (let's keep the ground we are riding on out of the equation). In some scenerios 1 motor pulling 300w for doing 25 mph while if we used 2 motors it's possible we only are pulling 280w total. This is because motors have a efficiency range where they perform in the most efficient way. This means that some motors draw more amp and waste more energy as heat to reach the fixed speed. This is plotted on a curve. Each motor has his own efficiency "height" depending on the RPM. So to conclude, it depends on the motor they use.
I love mine here in Vegas. I got the megatron edition. It gets me from a to z with no complications when I avoid the terrible streets. It rides smooth as most bus lanes are also bike lanes. A lot of compliments and same old question "how fast does it go". The speed limit of 25 on eco, so no need to worry of being pulled over. I ride it to work, which is mostly on the strip or the festival lot. The charge is never a problem as it utilizes 2 charges. I get to take it into most stores or leave it at the front with it armed and connected to my phone. Yes, it wont stop it from being stolen but it will alert people to look at it when it is going off. I recommend this scooter to anyone with the money for it. Ride safe and enjoy your scooter.
No Keyes
Vegas has a 25mph limit on scooters? Interesting. Segway's a great machine, but with 25mph limit, you could get a much smaller, lighter scooter - unless you're a large person who needs the excess power of the Segway. I'm 200lbs & find my 1200w per wheel Apollo Phantom to be sufficient in accelerating up steep hills, etc. The Segway seems to have way more watts per wheel than all the others, including scooters that are considerably faster. Segway could have used 1500w per wheel for the same performance, it seems.
@@NunchucksHabithey the GT2 has 1500w each wheel. Just have had mine for 3 weeks now. I also have 2 Kaabo Wolf King GT pros those have 2000w motors each wheel, I would have been happy with segway GT2 but took too long to produce. Btw the wolf kings will go 67 mph, too much power for most. I am a scooter hobbiest and have own 7, only 5 now😂. ❤land surfing, be safe be seen🤩🛴💨🤙👍
Thanks@@acwarf3946 , been scooter obssessed lately, only started looking into them seriously last Spring. I learned lately that watts per wheel doesn't matter much, yeah. It's up to the controller as to how much it draws from the battery to send the motors, as you obviously know. I thought it meant total possible power according to the throttle & ride mode.
I did see a few reviews saying the Segway is the fastest acceleration up to about 40mph but it's artificially "cut off" at around that speed - far slower than it's capable of. Two reviews said it's 3000w each wheel, so maybe it was a special edition.
On the 10" tires on my Apollo Phantom, I find 60km/h (40mph) to be fast enough. I've had it going 43mph but with no steering damper & those wee tires, I'm going to upgrade to possibly an Apollo Pro (12" tires, IP66).
Ideally I'd like a Nami Burn-E2 Max due to the great reviews it's had from some of the people I respect most in scooter land. I'm in the "rather have higher speeds than I need but rarely use them" category. My scooter spends most of its life between 30 - 35mph, but given a sturdy frame, dampers, suitable tires & smooth road, you bet I'm gonna try for top speed! I grew up riding motorbikes so I've got that same part of the brain you've got, lol!
Thanks for the info!
I’m thinking of pulling the trigger on the GT two. Do you still love your GT two and is it still doing good? No problems or anything
Makes sense that two motors is more efficient. I assume each motor is using half as much power meaning less I^2R losses. Halving the power reduces I^2R losses by a factor of 4.
hey Juiced. if you had to pick between the apollo phantom, the gt2, or gt 1 which one would you pick? how would you rate their suspension?
So glad your reviewing high performance ev's now!!!
High performance 😂😂😂
@@Vmaxfodder I know right! I do have to give him credit though because he’s run through Some bogus ev’s
@underdog2400 I built a 40kw( real watts that could be 56kw with another samsung pack ) footscooter with 7000watt hours . It's truly a transformer in all aspects.(multi dimensional) 100.8v top charge. It pulls so hard , but when most scooters start slowing down, this one just pours on the juice in a violent fashion! Hard to explain, but it's just a muscle e scooter 56hp bu lt could be 74hp? This guy is a great reviewer . I'm only an Innovator, not a content maker . I'm hoping to make parts that an average guy can make his own dream scooter with whatever parts they want . High-quality/high performance for a lot less . Or just a cheap scooter that will last lifetimes in the frame structure with much industrial style ! Most people think it's a Weped hyper scooter. What they don't know is it was much less cost ,and will last much much longer !
Los Angeles would be the perfect playground for electric scooters! I have the ninebot max and ES2 from Segway, but these new GT1/2 models from Segway are amazing! I wish I could afford one!
Enjoy your narration!! 🙂👍
i wonder if segway will ever replace the z 10? its still a great wheel but i would love to see more range and suspension( with the issues worked out of course).
A prudent question is one half of wisdom.
I'd like to see the engineering that goes into these, 6000 watts in such a small space is really impressive to me. That transparent display is cool too.
I'd like to see the designers in prison for selling these monstrosities. You know what's going to happen? They're going to ban them or so heavily regulate them that they become useless. This has already happened in the UK.
Wow, the engineering behind the Segway GT2 is truly impressive, especially fitting 6000 watts in such a small space! And that transparent display is really cool. Speaking of engineering, have you checked out Segway's Portable PowerStation Cube Series? It's versatile and perfect for outdoor adventures. You might find it interesting, especially with its massive capacity and fast recharging capabilities. Happy camping!
@@tarstarkuszmaybe be free then 🇺🇸
@@Ramonatho This is going to happen in the US as well. You know some stupid mother is going to buy her teenage son a 60mph scooter who will get severely injured or killed. Her grief and sense of guilt will compel her to go on an anti-scooter rampage until they are so heavily regulated that they are useless.
@tarstarkusz HA! This is happening in Elk Grove. Everyone on the next door app is asking why would she buy her son a fast scooter when he has no driving experience or license. Hopefully their Karenicity continues to get called out. If you buy your kid a wolf king GT to ride to school that is on the parent.
The problem with this scooter is the weight. I live in an apartment without a lift. There is no way I will lift this thing up and down every ride. And that's the reason why I bought a G2 Max instead. Good video! Thanks!
i bought a G2 Max 4 months ago and purchased this GT2 on monday .. yestarday I had the chance to try it and holly shit.. this has nothing to do. of course is much bigger and heavier but is something completely different in every single aspect. theG2 is perfect for what it is i am comlaining.
I love your reviews!!! he has 2 channels
Thank you for the post that I can't wait to get my e-scooter😂
My friend, please help. What would you recommend for basically having fun, riding to the park, the beach and just all around enjoyment with well build quality. I was thinking maybe.... niu kqi3 max, inokim xo? I don't know please help. I was going to go with mantis king gt or the klima. But was thinking maybe the xo or the max with be less maintenance. Please help
It will be a good idea to have a racing track for scooters only that way we can really take advantage of their full potential. Thanks for the review
I know right. Speeding on Bike trails/lanes isn't cool. One of the Reasons Electric Vehicles are getting banned
There are scooter racing series.
@@Ramonatho yep..the gt2 uses the same battery like the scooters they use in these races. Same goes for the boost option. I guess that`s why Segway often refer to the GT2 in their marketing as a "racing scooter".

"Got me twice dude". 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Anyone had to change the front tire on one of these? I am actively looking to buy one but I heard it’s a pain to disconnect compared to the Inmotion RS which has 2 piece wheels
I think the only downside of this scooter is the "price"
It's priced decent for the build and what you get .
2500.00 now
I've had mine for about a year now and no problems.
Love my SGT2M # 324❕
You gained a new sub
The new update to G30 Max also goes into Park if you are still for a few seconds. You can disable it using the phone app and you might be able to do it on your GT2
Thank you for sharing that update about the G30 Max and the Segway GT2! It's great to know that the new update includes a Park feature that can be disabled if needed. It's always important to have control over the functionality of our devices. By the way, if you're into outdoor activities like camping or RVing, I highly recommend checking out the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series. It's a versatile powerhouse that offers massive capacity, powerful output, and fast recharging. Plus, it's built tough with a waterproof design, making it perfect for any adventure. Check it out!
how you compare this to mukuta 10plus?
Will a seat be available?
with how detailed your reviews are, I'd love to see you review the Apollo Pro, most reviews are from small channels and the older versions and they don't cover everything :/
it's not available yet(soon) but I'm sure they would send you one for review if you asked
looking forward to it if you decide to go for it :)
I can't wait for the Segway XYBER E-Bike. 😉
You are nutz to go that fast one handed.
What beach is that? I want to say San Clemente but...
Can you try an iENYRID M4
Ready for that JUICE!!! 🧃🧃🧃
omg these emojis are epic
Anyone know which video it was where he got that black skid mark on his floor?
Im new to his channels but i think he was reviewing a bike on Tailhappytv, i forgot what exact video, but it was either a velotric video or one about one of the best budget friendly on the market, i think it was the nomad 1 idk cant remember but somewhere around there
They should reduce the power in the front wheel to something around 30-40 percent instead. The lifetime on the front wheel will be longer and also for safety reasons
Need a seat mount on that and it’s a perfect tool
I’m getting a Segway for my birthday but it in June 5 and it’s in 13 days🎉❤
I damn really like watching you shred, but darn your hanging out in the wind and doing 47 mph ( That's Crazy )..
If I was going to buy a scooter, it would definitely be that one
Nice deck!
Is it durable?
Running on 2 motors distributes the power.
Using 1 motor forces 1 motors to work harder.
It gets a lot hotter and burns out a lot quicker
so essentially, the controller sends 5000w of power distributed to both motor meaning each motor output 2500w. That makes sense since 10 kw would be insane for a scooter
If a scooter has 2 controllers per motor, then it ends up being the opposite
@@IsaacPoopsAlot true, I dont recall seeing any scooter with 2 controllers tho
I love my GT2 Megatron Edition. Have had absolutely no issues with it at all. I do want to say that when you get it make sure to update the firmware in the app as it addresses the issue of the dashboard reading the wrong speed.
What's the difference between GT2 vs GT2 Megatron edition?
@coolshariq Nothing except the GT2 Megatron has a transformers decal on it, and it comes with a speaker you can pair to the vehicle.
Hey man, can you please answer something for me? Is the handlebar stem height adjustable? I'm a shorter rider, and I kinda need to know.
@@TheSixthSLoT The handlebar is NOT height adjustable
@@Equalizer74 *THANK YOU.* Just stopped me from making a very expensive mistake.
You can do it!
Just bought it through Amazon
Will give it a month and see if it’s worth it to me
I was thinking about buying one on Amazon as well. Did you end up buying one and what did you think? Please let me know as I’m looking to pull the trigger on one maybe today or tomorrow. Thank you in advance.
@@Bobbyzjr yea , I like it so far. Durable. I had it fall twice out of my hand because I forgot to let go of the throttle . Still works good.
It’s fun riding around town.
Only thing is I wish it went faster . I’m always at max speed on the streets and flow with traffic but sometimes cars have to pass me.
Great for cruising and a daily driver.
It is a very nice, technologically advanced, and robust e-scooter! Yet, I would still prefer my old-tech, modified Speedway 5 with 4000W (60V28Ah) weighing 30Kg, rather than the GT2 with 6000W (50V30Ah) and a weight of 53Kg. The weight is a significant factor for me. Additionally, better acceleration and agility with 133W/Kg compared to the GT2's 113W/Kg. Moreover, the 30Kg weight makes it much easier to carry and manipulate, and it can still reach a top speed of 43.5 mph (70 km/h).
But, for a heavier person with a garage f.e., I believe the GT2 may be one of the best choices otherwise.
I got a question for you guys what if you lost you’re email that is bined to I have asked a professional but they said I have to pay 600 to fix it is a f65 Segway ninebot
Anyone knows why my GT2 won’t go into sports or race mode? It blinks and goed back to Eco mode.Is it a serialnunber thing? Antone knows the US serialnumber for the GT2? Also how do you set it to traction control or this goes automatically with selecting Sport?
I had to ride mine around for a couple miles before it allowed me to
@@JuicedJoyrides Thanks it worked out in the end, I guess that was indeed the issue. Didn’t do anything special.
Maybe one day when my kids are adults I'll be able to get me one lmao on the plus side scooters and bikes will be so much more advanced by that time😂😅
How to buy from Indonesia?
Using 2WD is more efficient, since you have more efficient grip. But no matter how many motors are there, you still have same watt/meter/second ratio, so it's not "using two motors is drawing twice as much power"
in theory I understand that is true, in practice I find that whenever 2 wheel drive kicks on the device tends to get power and speed hungry
I usually love outdoors I would love an escooter/ebike but not everyone can afford it ☹
The GT2 been selling for $2999 on their website for months. I think the MSRP is $4000, but it dont sell for that much
Hey what’s a good place to get a fast scooter in California do you know perhaps
@@user-kk2dp7vb1sSegway and Voro Motors have stores in LA. I got a Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro from Voro and it’s fast and has awesome range. They just released a Emove Roadster that can go 75 or some crazy ass speed.
At Voro you can test ride any scooter.
If you’re up north Alien Rides would be the place to go
@@user-kk2dp7vb1s What a good idea driving fast on a stand up electric scooter in California traffic with shithead drivers... You won't get killed at all😂
Now $2,500
So in single motor locked at 15 mph i have successfully gone 40 miles i am 220 and 6.4 love my gt2
Buy the segway C2 pro scooter, ive got it and is sick
Nice. Germany: Vmax 20kmh = 12mph, and we need a license plate for this. GT2 is to fast for Germany and we're not allowed to drive it on the street or anything.
You wouldn't be drawing twice as much power. In fact, you would be using significantly less because both motors have to work. Less hard to get you where you need to be
My dream is to have an electric scooter
Do we need a special license to be able to ride this on a freeway/road?
Think not legal yet?, sold as off road only?,(only allowed if council approved in the UK)
No not in the land of the free
They've been selling the gt-1 for $1500. I have the p-65 I got for $1000 its dope
yo fill up that rear tire!
Listen and listen very carefully… I had no idea Rob Schneider did reviews of electric scooters😂😂😂😂😂
9:31 the hellcat
i have just updated from a ninebot Max g2 to this GT2 and it has nothing to do in every aspect. th eGt2 perfromance and stability is more on the side of motorbikes.. you can use it in avenues and streets without any problem. you do not have those aceleration challenges you moght have with smaller scooters.
the eco mode goes faster than my sport mode 😭
its 2400 now on segway definitely worth it
Know that although in the eternal scheme of things you are small, you are also unique and irreplaceable, as are all your fellow humans everywhere in the world.
Super cool scooter. To pricy for me but it seems like it is great.
You can finance it you know for $138/month
0:52 I need to move to Cali
Cell au volant est illégal !!!!!
Why did Segway opt for motors that are pretty well twice as powerful as they need to be? There are scooters with similar performance, with 1500w per wheel. Were Segway looking to compete at a higher level, or is a 3000w motor likely to have more longevity? Seems they could get a lot more speed out of it if they wanted to. TLDR: why the double-power wheels if the performance is almost identical to a Nami Burn-E2 Max with wheels @ half the power?
Why do you need to go over 45mph on these, have you riding one of these at that speed? I have and it's scary as shit . Can't imagine doing 50+ on them
Running a hub motor at 80% max rather than 95-100% max will most definitely increase its lifespan. So maybe that is thier thoughts 🤷
It is 1500 watt per wheel.. 3k per wheel is the peak not the nominal watts
You have to take it as it happens, but you should try to make it happen the way you want to take it.
Now comes with a 5 amp charger? $2,500. . not bad.. Well it may be another manufacturer that had problems with the dual chargers being junk and now replace those with a single 5 amp one.. Not sure who did that.
Nice
I have one similar whit 5600w 30ah i can get about 62 miles/per hour
6000 watts? Sounds like a house fire waiting to happen!
Peak not nominal
$4,000? 🤯. Seems like $2,500 would be a more reasonable price
They are selling for 2500.00

how much electricity are you using a month to power that bad boy if you use it as your primary commute...Im new to electric scooters so im just curious if its costly using it often
4,000 is a luxury lol its cool but damn 4k wow thats not your commute scooter

Would the front wheel still spin if rode correctly, this guy stands as far back as possible so no weight over the front wheel, surely he should know how to ride a scooter by now
I own a GT1 the scooter is build like a tank and i love it but why is your new scooter got already 55km on it straight out of the box my was 0
