Yk I think SM really likes adding the horror element to anything related to Red Velvet because even though Girls on Top was a culmination of SM artists, Step Back had that spooky element to it. I heard the demo/instrumental and they (producers) purposely added the layer that sounds some sort of violin in a horror movie. The voices of the people that sound like they're doing a war cry but like...in a choir?😅 that was already there and I really like it, it sounds like a crumping song. (I can't find it rn but if you look for the instrumental you might find it)
I think they took orthodox choir singing psalms and cut it up for girls on top, imo
Not to sound like a spambot in every kpop related videos, but Red Velvet is the best thing that ever happened to the world.

I completely agree with the amount of detail we're seeing these days on the internet. We wouldn't be able to see that level of detail in real life at all and it really just fucks with everyone's ideas of what normal is.
we're bombarded with too many 4k things that are also edited and it's definitely a sensory overload

I am a sucker for that baroque/pirate/victorian vibe that Twigs and Caroline Polachek use. Like, I can think back to being obsessed with the series of unfortunate events movie and especially Violet's dress and arm warmers. Even Helena Bonham Carter characters reflect this. It's like... Outfits inspired by any period from medieval to Victorian, shreds, fishnets, layering, and a grungy gothic vibe.

I do agree with you on the photography and film prepective. I do like crispness on sort details but on skin, hell no. It feels uncanny valley to me. I love the soft diffuser filter or dreamy glow because it softens details that aren't needed.

they take inspo from many things, horror films being one of them!
I like quality or crispness only when it's needed. Like when you're filming a bee - ofc the whole point is to be able to see it(maybe not super super crisp, but still need to be high quality), but most things that dont require it should be less grating than 8k

I think liking a whole industry is impossible, but you can find any genre similar to what you listen to in English in Korea, it’s just a way to have more artists to listen to! If you don’t like pop, there are many other genres there
