I am from Philly, I cut the roll almost thru toast it and put it on top of the cheesesteak it melts and scoop it up when removing, but you did a fine job brother.
One thing I've done that adds a bit to the philly is to heat up the oven to a low temp like 220,225. When the phily is put together wrap it in aluminum foil and drop it in there for 3-5 minutes. Pull it out and eat. Did it last time I made them and will never look back.
What mayonnaise do you use to toast your buns? Just got my air fryer griddle combo and I am loving cooking and watching your videos to help me alongside with cooking
Oh wow, thank you so much! We are here in the south, I just use Hellman’s (Best Foods out west), but I’ve wanted to try Japanese mayo - we really try to keep it simple, love that you are enjoying the griddle, and being here with us! That’s a nice griddle.. very nice!!! Oh pepper jack cheese.. that sounds great!! I usually like provolone on my Philly! This is a great tutorial/ recipe video 👍😊.. mayo to toast it is genius 🤩
Looks delicious! I am also not an onion fan, but I do like green pepper for some reason. That would be a great experiment to try different cheesesteaks with different cheeses until I found the perfect one for me!

Cooking these tonight so thanks for the refresher. Love the passion you bring - I share it as well when I’m on the griddle. Literally think I cook a better cheesesteak than most places near me. Thx
Sandwich looks great I'm going to have to try. I just bought a Blackstone myself and has disappointed me a little because it sticks. I worked in a restaurant years ago on a stainless griddle and would never stick no matter what it was cheese or anything and also I used to wash it with soap every day, but.. the price is different as well. Live and learn.
Agreed, we have learned to work with some sticking, and try to sue a bit more oil - the cold rolled steel definitely works a bit different. We also use the new Pit Boss ceramic nonstick griddle, it’s great for that too!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Great question! We’ve even had success with butter, or even nothing at all, but toasting the buns on the griddle top - just keep an eye on it - we find that medium heat works best for a good quick toast without having to watch it for too long. Hope this helps fam!!🔥🔥

What up waltwins...just found your channel yesterday, kind of binge watching since...good videos, I'm in the process of building a backyard kitchen whats the company that makes the backyard fence enclosure covering your pool area.
American cheese on my cheese steak. New subscriber. Why did you cut the roll in half? Also you need a good set of knives. Freeze the meat easy to cut into strips. Suggestion for a video. How do you clean your griddle after use? Love it so far.
Paul Leal Hi Paul! I am Brett of the Waltwins. It’s funny you asked about him cutting the roll in half. Adam said he didn’t mean to, it broke apart. And awesome suggestions with the knives and freezing the meat! Can’t wait to use your ideas for when I make mine!🤗 Thank you for the sub, and we will definitely talk about cleaning the griddle! Do you have any suggestions on what you’d like us to cook? I’m wanting to do mini tacos! And, of course, Tepanyaki...🤗 Don’t tell anyone!🤐😂
Yes, I was bummed the rolls split, but they were the last 2 I had. Agreed, a quick selection of knives and not enough time in the freezer made for a softer meat cut. Would love to show how I clean the griddle - a vid will be forthcoming for sure. Thanks so much for the support!!🤙🤙
I'm making them tonight. I hope they come out as good as yours looks (smells and tastes). I sure would like to see the grocery list from ALL your recipes. Thanks. Griddle On!

Philly cheese steaks...the griddle is made for that...looks amazing!!! I am curious how grilling chicken/steak on the griddle compares to a standard grill...would love to see your opinions on that.
Great question! I was talking to Brendon, and the conversation led to me thinking of a video. I will do a pros/cons to both and compare in an upcoming video (probably next week!)
Man love you and your brothers videos you guys act like you would be fun to hang out with. And I am a single guy what would you suggest as far as Blackstone grill really thinking about the deep fryer grill combo any suggestions on that is it worth it.
Hey man, thank you so much! Honestly, I had my eye on the deep fryer combo for a while before we went for the air fryer - I love the idea of not only the deep fryer, but also acing the side burners. They seem legit! 🤙🤙
@@graysquirreltreeservice7299 it’s amazing!! While I still have respect for all forms of cooking outdoors, after a few months, I got rid of my charcoal grill - just knew I wouldn’t be using it. I may get others eventually, but for now, this does all the cooking!😄😄🤙🤙

Awesome video and a really tasty looking cheesesteak sandwich, i've always wanted to try one of these after seeing it on fresh prince....post me one to the UK haha!
You know...I just noticed that I watched the video, but never commented. How bad of me...sorry about that. Great video as always on your wonderful toy! Did you use it on Mothers Day to cook something special for your wife? Have you actually used it everyday so far? Man, you really are getting some use out of it. That is great. Ribeye or loin place the onions under the meat and then chop into really small pieces using 2 spatulas and place cheese on and melt place on bread that’s how a cheesesteak is done go to Publix and get amoroso rolls for an authentic cheesesteak

If you want some authentic flair, when you pull them off don't separate the top and the bottom of the roll. Throw the roll on the finished meat, get the spatula under, and scrape it right up and flip.
Boom! Awesome! I was actually bummed that my rolls separated. Your take is way better! I’ll do that next time - we want to do the same process but with some chicken!🤙
Looks good to me 🥩 Rebecca is the only way to go when you're making a Philly cheesesteak FYI it helps to put the meat in the freezer 30 to 40 minutes before slicing cuts much easier I do not like cheese on my Philly I'm lactose intolerant 😃 thanks for another great cooking video Hope you and your family are doing well now you just need an ice cold beer to wash it down 🍺
lucas mcquillan TVs em so much man! I set it in the freezer for 15 minutes, but the neighbors were all mowing and I only had a small window to start. Next time I’ll take your advice and wait longer! Thanks so much as always man!!
Hope it taste good cause it looks pretty chinsy with the meat. I do like the pepper jack cheese but also grilled onions and peppers go a long way for me. But we like what we like everybodys different.
Thats still not thin enough. I'd recommend a meat slicer, it'll up your philly steak sandwich game. I bought one for two reasons.. no local grocery here will slice up meat like Publix will. And also to slice up a north eastern I miss Publix. You are right their sub rolls are great for phillys. Their French Burger Buns are great as well. Much Better than the Wonderbread style. Since I don't have a Publix here in the Texas Panhandle I have had to start learning baking just to have good philly rolls and hamburger buns!
Totally agree!! Thank you so much for watching and for the suggestions! We love our Publix rolls! For sure I’ve thought about getting our own slicer, even when placing the meat in the freezer for 30 minutes as has been suggested, I still can’t get it thin enough. We’ll get there someday man! Take care!🤙🤙
Hey my brothers. If you have any merchandise with your channel on it. Send me a shirt mug hat etc and I will Display it in all my videos. Smile and laugh often my friends be safe.
That fat from the ribeye is the best part!!!! Whenever I grill a ribeye, I'll save the fat to eat last. Just an explosion of garlic, salt, and pepper. Perfection. But I do a reverse sear to do my steaks. I'll never cook a whole steak any other way.
Woot woot! So good fam! For sure we love a good reverse sear - we appreciate the many ways to cook and prepare food, and have learned so much over the years . Take care and GRIDDLE W!🤙🤙🔥🔥

@@waltwins No worries. I know about the Goya one as I’m from Puerto Rico and that is one of the most used seasoning there, and you show it on the video. I think then that when you use the seasoning on the steak then it is the Goya one? Sorry if I misunderstood. Thanks.
@@techtutorialsbyhenry oh, yes, as well as onion powder, garlic powder, and salt and pepper. We use a similar one now that we “created” mixing all of these with Accent, we call it our Usual Suspects and it’s amazing! Usual Suspects Seasoning: *This is for our shaker - makes approx. 4oz. 1tbsp salt 1/2 tbsp pepper 1/2 tbsp onion powder 1 tbsp garlic powder 1/2 tbsp Adobo 1 tbsp accent.
Most places that sell meat have meat slicers ASK THEM TO SLICE YOUR MEAT. Your meat is to chunky, no onions and the cheese wasn't mixed evenly through the meat. What you have made is a tasty Midwestern steak sandwich. You barely have enough meat for one sandwich, not even close to a Philly Cheese Steak keep practicing and look on youtube for a cheese steak made at Angelo's in south Philly then follow up with a vid of yours makeing a Angelo's Cheese Steak.
Thank you for watching and for the feedback! This video was about 4 years ago and we agree! We haven’t perfected it yet, but we’ve gotten it much better!
@@waltwins Don't be afraid to go from the side, either. You can get almost the whole roll that way.
Swiss or Provolone, thanks so much
Yes! Great call! We’ve been told we need to try with the cheese whiz... we’ll see...😜
Both :)
Chilly Pheesteak!!!
Haha!!! Indeed!😂😂🔥🔥
Ever done a A Philly-style Italian pork sandwich
No! But not we will have to look into it!! Thank you so much got watching! Griddle on!!!😁❤️🤙
How much meat per sandwich?
Donde dejaste la tocinetaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Una buena pregunta! Usualmente, el “cheesesteak” no la tiene, pero debe, verdad?!
@@waltwins I meant to say ribeye not Rebecca lol
I love cheesesteak pizza. Yummy lol.
The Funniest UNFUNNY guy ooh, I’ve never had one, will have to give it a go!
@@waltwins yep its awesome
Hope it taste good cause it looks pretty chinsy with the meat. I do like the pepper jack cheese but also grilled onions and peppers go a long way for me. But we like what we like everybodys different.
Thanks for watching. This was actually a couple of years ago. We definitely try to get more meat on them now. Griddle on.😁🤙
Thats still not thin enough.
You two need to invent smell a video. Lol
Haha!! Yes we do!!!😂😂😂 Thank you so much for watching! Griddle on!!!😁❤️🤙🏻
Hey my brothers. If you have any merchandise with your channel on it. Send me a shirt mug hat etc and I will Display it in all my videos. Smile and laugh often my friends be safe.
Thanks so much man! No mercy yet, but when we do, you’ll have it!🤙🤙
Next thing up. Smella vision, so we can smell whats yur grillin. Looks good.
Haha!! Ain’t that the truth! We gotta make that a thing!😄. Thank you so much watching!🤙🤙
Never met a cook that didn’t hit a homerun
Right?!? Thank you so much for watching! Griddle on!!!😁🤙❤️
Which Blackstone griddle are you using?
Thank you so much for watching! This is the 36” air fryer griddle combo l, exclusive to Walmart.🤙🤙
Never grondbeef also chop chop
Thanks so much for watching!
uh. close the lid on the grill to melt cheese?......yeah, it'll catch spatter but....
Thanks for watching. We understand that most of our audience does not have the hood with their griddle - we’ve been asked about using domes and more often than not, use it (and the new Blackstone dome) when doing videos. Feel free to check out more of our videos .🤙🤙
My wife just got me a 36” for Christmas. How do I get one of those lids?.
TVs k you so much for watching! Are you talking about the hood? It depends on the model. Most newer ones do come with the hood. Good luck!🤙🤙
You must say what the seasoning is...
Thank you so much for watching, are you meaning the Adobo? My apologies if I didn’t say the name! This is Goya brand Adobo. Cheers fam!🤙🤙🔥🔥
4oz.
1tbsp salt
1/2 tbsp pepper
1/2 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1/2 tbsp Adobo
1 tbsp accent.
Don't play music in the background you tube might trip nice vid/apron
Thanks for looking out for us, we follow the guidelines and use non copyright music on our videos.🤙🤙
I like the music
Is there anything the Waltwins can't do on a griddle ?? Serious question.
Haha!! You all as the best!! Thank you so much for watching fam!🔥🔥🤙🤙
you should steak meat already sliced like steakem meat i live in philly
Thank you for the input, we agree, but what’s to show how to make it from scratch if needed. Take care!🤙🤙
If you do that put it in the freezer for like 10-15 minutes and then it’s way easier to cut into slices!!
Oh man.
Thank you for watching fam! We love making Philly’s on the Blackstone!!🔥🔥🤙🤙
Need smellavision 😁😝🤣🤣🤣👍👍
Hahahahahaha!! Indeed!! Someday fam.... someday..😄😄🔥🔥
We use heritage shaved ribeye which helps a great deal. We will definitely check an Angelo’s Cheese Steak vid to see how we compare, or what more we need to do to get it right. Much love fam!🤙🤙
there is but one way to do it
Thank you so much for watching!🤙🤙
Where’s the onion?
You are right! This was my first attempt
2 years ago, we’ve gotten it down since!!😂😂🔥🔥
Where's the MEAT?? 🤔 That's not enough for two.
Haha! Agreed! We’ve done these a few times since for the channel, don’t worry, it gets better!😂😂. Thank you so much for watching!!🔥🔥

Thank you😻
the cheese suppose to be on the bottom not the top 🤦♀️ put the bread on top of the cheese and flip it over
Yikes. Welp, while not perfect, it still tasted delicious. Thank you for taking the time to watch. Much love.🤙🤙
Both top and bottom never to much cheese :)
And roll not cut into two separate buns…. Bleh
Thanks for watching. Could have done without the “bleh” - cheers.🤙🤙
What is wrong with you? No Onions… then its not a cheese steak… this is non sense… call is roast beef toasted sandwich then…
