We have looked at and seen many horse feeders in our DVM careers and this is by far one of the best modular ones that can be shipped out to you by Cashman's. They are family friendly and the product works great even in Minnesota's deep winter months.
Your animals are very lucky. If you are going to have horses you might as well take great care of them. Good for you. 👍 Vinny 🇺🇸
I feed small squares because I found there was too much waste with round bales. Does this reduce the waste? And has it held up well over these last two winters?
It works great, i can say its little small for large 17.3 hand draft horses but for arabs qtrs and such really help and the hay stays better and they eat more and waste less
These are interesting videos. I mean no ill will but when are you going to get back inside and work on the fishtank!! :D
have you ever had a hay feeder break?
i have not sorry
A completely misleading video! You say that it is more heavy duty than a 230lb weight hay hut yet it is half as thick as a hay hut and weighs only 170lbs! It is flimsy, wobbly and extremely difficult to push over and push back because there are no handholds and it shatters when kicked in cold weather. I am surprised that Cashmans continue to market it if they value their reputation but for sure they do not warranty it. Please show us a video of this one in use three years on if it still exists! We cannot find any testimonials or meaningful endorsements of this feeder - Why is that? You should take this video down!
Sorry your hut didnt hold up, we dont have to take down the video for we like these and we like the draft horse feeders we have and both work great for us in Minnesota cold, FYI the Hay hut is flimsy too from our experience and cost about $250 more but that isnt the big issue when you use the hay hut, the down side with it is wide neck horse the edge wear on the neck fur. The cashmen has wider and nicer window openings for them, we like to see the orginal hay huts with wider windows in them. Also both of these type feeders can be wind blown over when not lot hay in them, I know they need to be light to tip them and 230 lbs is almost to much for the women on our farm but that is the down side if you live in windy areas like we do, have great day
