Ford sponsored their first EV in the competition this year and it was a preproduction version of their 2024 Mustang Mach E Rally edition with some modifications for the event. Peter forgot about the Mustang Mach-E 1400. Its seven motors put out the most torque found in a Mach-E. Granted it's not a production model.

The girls mentioned that the car still had a few bugs that needed to get revised after day 7 at the rally. Do you know what type of bugs they encountered?
We do not have further insights. We watched in the rankings as the team was consistently in the top three. Then one day they were near the bottom. In a navigation contest line this, that could signal disorientation, getting stuck, or technical trouble. Given the skill of the navigator and driver... and the*preproduction* nature of the vehicle with a brand new set of motors... we might lean towards technical trouble. Additionally, the bespoke skid plate (not planned for production) could present battery and powertrain cooling challenges. All we have is speculation. -Producer Tim

We have all seen gasoline vehicles explode. They do that. EV batteries do not do that.

EVs are MUCH less likely to catch fire.
