Great video! Spring Breakers is leagues above The Beach Bum, so I would definitely say you should give it another chance. Also, surprising to hear your opposite suspicions with Enemy and Under the Skin. They both evoke the quiet, isolated feelings that you mentioned about the latter, and they're both equally brilliant imo.
I’m very curious to revisit Spring Breakers. I recall being very disturbed by a scene involving James Franco and an Uzi in his mouth lol. I’m really interested in watching some of Harmony’s early stuff too, like Gummo and Kids. I hope I am wrong about Enemy! I probably am tbh. Thinking back on it as I’m typing this response, I can only remember how amazing so much of it is. Gyllenhaal’s paranoia is so effective. And I think going into Under the Skin knowing what to expect will be very helpful on a rewatch.
Only because it’s not on here, I highly recommend checking out The Last Black Man in San Francisco. That’d be in the top tier for me, I think you’d really dig it.
Idk I just know that Rover WW Young and Most Violent Year have always really resonated with me! I really need to rewatch Under The Skin though. I think it really went over my head when I saw it. Really am interested in seeing Glazer's Sexy Beast also
I hope you get the chance to rewatch Under the Skin, Enemy & The Lighthouse sometime in the future. They're some of my favorite films ever, (Under the Skin is my 2nd favorite movie of all time). I'd also highly recommend you check out some other great A24 films like: The Last Black Man in San Francisco (2019), The Humans (2021), Lean on Pete (2017), Amy (2015), The Death of Dick Long (2019), & Mississippi Grind (2015).
Yeah I’ve really been sleeping on The Last Black Man in San Francisco! I’ve been enjoying Jonathan Majors in everything he’s been in lately. Under the Skin and The Lighthouse are both begging for rewatches. The Humans was one I was really interested in too, but I don’t think it was in theaters in my area. I think it’s on blu-ray now tho so I can check it out that way
The End of the Tour is one of the most underseen films that A24 has produced. It is somber and quiet but really impactful - has great characters and great conversation. Really recommend it to all!
Excellent vid and list, luke! I would probably bump macbeth up to the middle tier because the cinematography kept me surprisingly engaged, but I do agree with everything you said about the movie! I would also swap The Killing of a Sacred Deer and The Lobster. Although I do need to see both again, The Lobster is one of the most horrifying movies I've ever seen. Finally, I would create 3 tiers below the bottom tier and add The Green Knight to the lowest one. Cheers! Jermaine
I’m bringing my expectations for Men down a little bit with its recent reception. Jessie Buckley is always good though, and I’m excited to see Rory Kinnear in a bunch of different makeup and outfits lol
The sad girls would rank Lady Bird at least in A tier.
A24 Vibes bro

I am going to actively find time to watch that one soon. I feel like I really missed out on it when it came out!
How can you put Rover, While Were Young, and Most Violent Year above The Witch, Enemy and Under The Skin? Those films are classics.
Idk I just know that Rover WW Young and Most Violent Year have always really resonated with me! I really need to rewatch Under The Skin though. I think it really went over my head when I saw it. Really am interested in seeing Glazer's Sexy Beast also
Because Rover has a great story and Oscar Isaac is a beast

100% agree with this list! every B tier and above movies here are worth watching and above average, really shows how A24 makes quality movies 😄

Well said Kyle! From what I remember about the film, I think you nailed it with what you said
I watched 82 films produced and distributed by A24 and that’s a lot even for me haha
Damn you’ve got me doubled bro!

‘Swiss army man’ has a soft spot in my heart. Lighthouse is by far my favorite. Only a few stinkers from them. ‘Men’ looks awful tho
