    You are crushing it with this series in my opinion. Fresh, delicious food...not prepackaged... affordable...and you teach us the fundamentals of preparing these dishes at home!
    Thank you!

    Before everyone starts busting on me for going to WF, let me say that it by far has the best selection and is still the only store to let me film inside of it in the area. In addition, if you can find all these ingredients for cheaper from your favorite local store then even better!

    I love that you actually talked through how you drove down the cost. Many youtubers like Joshua Weissman advertise that they can make a dish for a specific dollar amount. Here, you actually showed how you shop, how you get individual slices of meat or cheese from the deli and I love that.

    Dude, 4.65 for 4 slices of ham???? wow. we went to 5.29/lb ish peak in N New England. Sams Club and BJs or Costco are not the place for the deli meats... I shop 3x weekly for work-2 carts and I get that kind of stuff at a regional chain (Market Basket here... but NOT Hannafords which is actually $5 a POUND more for the same exact brand!) Gotta be careful but appreciate your watching the cost. Imported Swiss is 4.99-5.99... your ham is the priciest brand there is so yeah... I pay 5.29 for black forest but not that applegate-still good. Thats $5 a pound cheaper... Like others I really like your trying to get frugal-key these days... You and Brian Lagerstrom are the ONLY ones I know that show labels etc of where and how you shop... Big hats off-keep it up.

  • @morgellonsdirect513
    @morgellonsdirect513 Рік тому

    Just an FYI on the chicken..you are always better to buy a whole chicken and cut it up yourself, not because of the cost, but because of the processing methods allowed, even for organic chicken. In the processing plants, whole chickens are sprayed with antibacterial spray and then rinsed before bagged and flash frozen. Chicken parts are soaked in antibacterial spray as the move through the cutting up process so they spend a LOT more time in that solution than a whole chicken. Ever wonder why even organic chicken smells funky after only a day in the fridge...that's why and depending on the pieces, it can soak into the bone. This process is used in every commercial poultry processing plant in this country and is completely condoned by the USDA and FDA as a "safe and effective" practice, but also explains why so many people, like me, have gut issues after eating chicken from restaurants that buy frozen parts to use. I have even gone so far as to raise my own birds and do my own butchering to avoid the issue entirely. Pork is done in the same manner, but beef is not.

    I have never tried Cordon bleu! It looks so delicious and easy to make but I just don't know if I could make it and the chicken would be done...Sometimes I just don't trust a meat reader 😕 haha call me silly. I need one of those pounders and maybe then I would feel better about making this dish myself at home.

    Take it over the top by adding to the swiss cheese and ham stuffing a 1/4" x 1/4" x length strip of cream cheese or blue cheese or mozzarella plus a strip of sour cream. And forget the breading a d frying mess by wrapping stuffed chicken rolls with Pillsbury crescent or croissant pastry sheets not separated at the perforations. Place on sheet pan, wash with egg or melded butter. Cook in preheated 325°F to 350°F oven for about 40 minutes or until internal temperature is 165°F. Please forgive me but a can of undiluted Cream of Chicken or Cream of Mushroom soup drizzled over and around plated chicken rolls with your choice of minute greenery pieces, i.e. parsley, chives, sage, etc.

    What are some examples of neutral flavored oil? Also, when the potatoes are soaked to remove some of the starch, is it just to remove extra carb calories or does it improve flavor, or??

    If you want to go out and dine at a restuarant you are not going to get your kids 20+ dollar meals. You are going to get them the kids meals. If you are Chef Billi, you are going to be making more money than the average person. You will buy your kids whatever they want to shut them up while you buy 4 bottles of their most expensive wine and then get your parents to take the kids away and Chef Billi drives home drunk and crashes into a brick wall right next to his house. Sick of these click bait titles. Thankyou
