I'm always interested in anything having to do with film production, so visiting Toei Movie Village would have been lots of fun for me. And, who doesn't like Yokai?? Japanese goblins, ghosts, and monsters are always so imaginative and scary. I loved the Yokai with forearms and hands sprouting out of its eyes. Thank you both for taking us along! P.S.--I'm a "no cornflakes on my ice cream" kinda girl.😋
Wow thank you for showing us this great movie studio set. We visited there about 20 years ago. My son who was about 10 years old at the time, was chosen to take part in a mock samurai street battle. He still talks about it, to this day! A fun place to visit - that is different to anything else.
I love these places. With the scary house and ninja house, I think my daughter would enjoy this more then a museum. The yokai event sounds fun. In Tokyo there are a few museums that have replica's for the old houses. Where you can look inside and really see how people lived back then.
I was there in 95, and there was an indoor section that talked about special effects. There was Godzilla exhibit there for some reason. In it you were invited to pretend to be trapped in a giant bottle of juice, and a model village that made you look Godzilla-sized, when you posed behind it.
This is so great! My wife’s family lives in Uzumasa so she grew up ten minutes from the studio. We plan to visit again next month so your video is a great way to prep for it! Thank you!
I wonder how many movies or tv shows I've watched that were filmed there? I would love to visit there. This kinda thing is right up my alley. I loved the Yokai Festival. The masks were creepy but really cool. And I wish you guys could have gone through the horror house. I would have loved to see what's in there. This was an awesome episode. Thanks, guys.❤😊
Sugoi!!! Thanks to movies and you two this is now on my bucket list! Love the goblins, stories I was read as a kid mix them into fables. It's been such a hard couple weeks, glad I save to watch💞
I've been there last year. There was Mask Rider Black display collection in the main Lobby. An Evangelion giant robot display in the other back-lot. There weren't that many visitors at the time. (I put a video of my trip there in my Channel) During that time, they were Shooting a Samurai/Ninja film in one section of the lot. It was blocked of from civilians and they had large Blue screen tarps covering large sections of the background. The Actors/Stuntman are attached to flying cables and they were racing and fighting on top of a roof. The staff around forbids anyone to take pictures. Even now I don't know what Show they'd filmed (could be film, TV series or even a TV Commercial)
I love the idea of visiting the edo period movie sets. I loved the last samuri movie with tom cruise. I wonder if they filmed there for the movie. Toshrio Mufune was my favorite actor to watch as a samuri they make sword fighting look so easy. Yet, Akira Kurosawa films are my favorite too. Thank you for taking your viewers there to see japans movie sets. Have a beatiful day, Shinichi & Satoshi😮
Wow, the viscosity of that curry udon soup broth! Udon has not been my favorite Japanese noodle, but that stuff looks amazing. Maybe it might change my mind! The packaging of the souvenir gifts is so impressive. I really love that extra step in making things look nice, when they could just look OK. LOL, I am someone who definitely will add some cereal to ice cream. As an American, Fruity Pebbles is something I love to add to a simple vanilla ice cream.
They also filmed some of the Super Sentai Movies such as Engine Sentai GoOnger vs Samurai Sentai Shinkenger and the Engine Sentai GoOnger Bang Bang Gekijo Bang with Dai Shogun mecha.
Thank you for this video, it was a special treat for Halloween. Looking at the chambara show, now I understand what Takeshi Kitano was referring to when in a DVD extra, he discussed how he went about creating a different, more realistic looking style of sword fighting for his Zatoichi.
OMG. I've been here. It's amazing. I call it Kyoto Fun Land. As a big guy, I surprisingly fit through the ninja maze (with sucking in) should anyone my size want to go. Horror house is kind of scary. Take my mum with you, she'll be sure to injure you.
If you are interested in those old style houses and shops and you don't want to go to Kyoto I recommend you to go to 江戸東京たてもの園 This place is in Koganei Park and its incredibly cool in my opinion also really cheap Also awesome even though much more expensive would be Nikko Edo Mura ... easily done as a day trip from Tokyo or with a nice over night stay at the nearby onsen town but its like 5000Yen entry
I will have to google to find out what shows and movies are filmed there! Interestingly, sometimes movies or shows that are about Japan are actually filmed in British Columbia, Canada where I am from. For example, some parts of the Shogun series was filmed in B.C. I love that we have some similar, beautiful landscapes. ☺️ Another example is the show, Pachinko, which takes place in both Korea and Japan, but parts of it are actually filmed in B.C. I love both of those shows, especially Pachinko!
You guys are truly reading my mind - I have this place as one of my anchor locations to visit at the end of the year. Thanks for sharing with us a preview of it. Also a question - how can I contact you two? i would love to pass you some omiyage when I visit japan later.
Thank you as always for your wonderful videos! We wonder if you guys could recommend us brand/s of hojicha to try when we visit Japan next year please. Thank you again 😊
Short? That was a highly energetic choreography, in hot, heavy costumes and masks, in Japanese summer. I should hope it's short for the performers' sakes!

It looks like a great place to visit for families.
Someone is always interested in Movie production History and Folklore.
I've been to this studio a long time ago. Fun trip.
It’s always a joy to see wherever you two go. The food are the highlights.
The haunted house is the scariest I've visited in my life. Years later I'm still shaking!! I can't believe kids are allowed to enter..

I have always wanted to see this! I actually thought a few weeks back it would be so cool if Shinichi and Satoshi would do a video. Dream made!! 😊
We’re glad you enjoyed the video!
Never had cornflakes and ice cream but now you have me curious. 😊

Great fun!
The blue monster in the thumbnail looks like Slimer from the Ghost Busters. 😂
Awesome video thanks for sharing 😘😘❤️😍🤩🥰🌹🌈💯🙏
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a neat place. The food looked and sounded so good. Yum… I prefer my corn flakes in a chocolate bar… move over rice crispies

We have a movie set in Okinawa. The buildings are set in the 1800's time frame. My friend took me there around 1995. Not sure if it's still here.
arigato gozai mais👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
You're so lucky to be able to enter the filming village. I could not enter on 5th November due to filming on that day.

A shuriken shaped cookie cutter would be great merch, I'd buy that.
1:25 japanese Jurassic Park.
Cornflakes with vanilla ice cream are good.

Amazing video ~ I am there now

Is the parade happening daily in November?

Did you go in the haunted house?
We didn’t. The line was too long
That is very cool!
This was fun
