KYOTO JAPAN
Kyoto has tons of street food and we're here to help you find the best! We're trying out some of the newer shops that have opened since we last visited. These are our pick for some of the best!
Tsuruya Chosei Sannenzaka Branch (maps.app.goo.gl/cV9ktbhJLXfnW...) has these incredible sweets called Smoothie Ice Monaka. They combined the traditional dango and monaka, then combined them with ice cream.
Kumonocha (maps.app.goo.gl/pAMmcZz7YnHfn...) was a really nice place to sit and relax with their signature Cloud Cake and Lychee Drink. I really enjoyed their premium matcha tea.
Itoken Sousou (maps.app.goo.gl/tJhA6CUnA18tJ...) offered a unique way to enjoy traditional Wagashi (Japanese confection). You can enjoy four different types of wagashi on a stick.
Kirakuan Sannenzaka Branch (maps.app.goo.gl/tJhA6CUnA18tJ...) serves up Karaage Fried Chicken on a long stick. It was gimmicky but we thought the chicken was really good.
Okutan (maps.app.goo.gl/eaw1fF3SCD7j4...) is a simple shop serving simple food. In fact they only sold two things. We decided to try their Tofu Balls, which were light, savory and delicious.
One of the best things we ate on this trip was from Kyo Kurara (maps.app.goo.gl/bjCLmP9rUDa8W...) in the Gion district of Kyoto. They offer up Namafu on sticks in a variety of flavors and tastes. Namafu is a Kyoto specialty and is something we recommend. These were amazing!
Try these frozen parfaits on sticks from Ito Kyuemon (maps.app.goo.gl/BfFYHnnbJvWdN.... They're not only pretty to look at, but they were yummy especially on a hot summer day.
Snoopy Chaya (maps.app.goo.gl/kxEjtxdQCHJ6e...) is for all you Snooy fans! The Snoopy Yaki was freshly made, warm and hit the spot. Recommended if you like Anko.
Yatai Mura Nishiki (maps.app.goo.gl/6WEpE8B71JnD9...) is a fairly new addition to the famous Nishiki Market. Get the tempura here. They make a great snack with beer!
Kamukura Gion Branch (maps.app.goo.gl/FTnAkP8PwXDxn...) is a famous ramen chain, but they also have a takeaway counter, offering up Mitarashi Dango.

At this point, having one of your videos playing when I eat dinner is pretty much a must. I absolutely MUST try authentic Japanese karaage at some point in my life.
If they marinate the chicken with ginger it’s soooo good.
Adam Liaw has a UA-cam channel that shows you how to make it, his wife is Japanese and he is very knowledgeable.
Satoshi at 6:53 almost made me spit out my dinner from laughing! THAT FACE LOL
🤣
I always feel so comforted watching your videos. My partner and I traveled to Kyoto this past May and were pleased to have found a lot of allergen friendly restaurants while visiting!! It would be awesome to have a food tour of your favorite allergen friendly restaurants!
Kyoto Engine was an incredible gluten free ramen shop!!
Satoshi giving "the look" after eating the karaage: "Hellooo!" 😂 I love you guys! And I'm going to be a goofball again and tell you how handsone you both are. It strikes me every time I see you, so you're going to have to get used to my fangirl fawning. Hahaha! The food all looked delicious! I think my favorites would have been the ebi and tamago tempura and the fruit ice cream bars. Oishii! Thank you for this fun and delicious walk in Kyoto! 💙💜
Thanks so much for creating this video and sharing. My husband and I are in Kyoto now for two weeks and tomorrow we plan on visiting the neighborhood you just featured in this video. We’ll be sure to try as many treats as you did. That Karrage chicken looks amazing! After Kyoto we take the Shinkansen to Tokyo where we’ll spend our last 8 days in Japan. We were in Okinawa to start and visited three places you guys have visited. Your videos have been so helpful on our travels in Japan. And also your 7 11 videos!
A couple of questions/comments on this video.... 1. Which skin care products are you guys using? you guys look like 7 years younger! 2. Awesome food, really enjoyed all the places you are recommending, thanks for this compilation. 3. You guys look radiant and with a great and happy vibe!

Shinichi and Satoshi, think you guys can consider a video on Yoron Island? It looks like one of the most stunning places in all of Japan.
All this food looks like art 😱
Visiting Kyoto next month, I will try them all!
Satoshi, arigatou for wearing THE BUS Tshirt. Yes, support the 808.
I had the wagashi skewer at the exact same space in spring and it actually look like a "spring collection" 🙂It was so good eventhough I had no idea what I was eating. Thanks to you guys, I know what it was.
those ice cream bars were so wild 😗
Wow omg yummy 😮😍
I love to try the blue snacks!!! It is also located in my favourite area of Kyoto. And the wagashi on skewers. And my husband would even go back to Kyoto in summer (he wasn't that fond of the heat) to try the kara age. And those popsicles..... well basically everything in this video I would like to try hahaha
Though I like rstaurant videos, I love the street food ones the most. Because there is all different things. I usually find the shops with great looking snack on google maps; if I'm in the area I can look up maps to get some inspiration, so I have a destination in mind and wander over there seeing what else I can find.
I miss that place...the temple was so nice...and of course the hike up there was good too...and yeah all that good food along the way....
I'm here now! I swear I saw you 2 days ago!
I would love to try those Popsicles!
i most imagined myself at the 2nd place you stopped. at the back garden with lanterns and wind chimes with the MATCHA premium drink. great job guys. totally enjoyed your adventures. domo arigato for sharing.
Satoshi, your ‘Hello’ karaage, should be used for their ad campaign- I’m sold!

This was probably filmed a couple months ago, still in summer. Current temperatures in Kyoto are in the mid-60s F.
@@marc1 oh so it’s cold now there
Kyoto did not seem that crowded in your video. May I ask when did you shoot this?
>> We miss you Sitoshi ! - You are our favorite ! ---- You are so cute and sweet ---- We enjoy your content ! ----
In the different prefectures do the people speak a different dialect? Love your videos ❤
The dialects of the Japanese language fall into two primary clades, Eastern (including Tokyo) and Western (including Kyoto and Osaka), with the dialects of Kyushu and Hachijō Island often distinguished as additional branches, the latter perhaps the most divergent of all. The Ryukyuan languages of Okinawa Prefecture and the southern islands of Kagoshima Prefecture form a separate branch of the Japonic family, and are not Japanese dialects, although they are sometimes referred to as such.

Bottled matcha tea, genius. Some German bottled juice producers have taken on to including a little matcha powder in their green fruit and veg juice mixes, but that's not the same.
If I say “Eat Kentucky moss”, may I have a bite? 😋
Oishiiso!
Wat time am I it on my calendar 📆!!!’n sunrise n sunset!!!!!!!!’nnseriouly saddened!’nnnnnn
Hi guys
😮🤩🤤
👍👍

Enjoy the video today.😊
❤
Shout out to the hairs 8:32 and 11:49
The colors of many of the foods you try are so intense they have to be artificial. I would worry about consuming so much artificial color because testing continues to discover that these substances are carcinogenic or otherwise not healthy.
ストリートフードも良いですが、食べ歩きのせいで歩道をゴミだらけにしない様に各店舗前で食べ終わらせてゴミを回収出来るようにするのが、昨今のオーバーツーリズムでゴミが溢れる京都の為になると思います。
Chicken looked great omggggg and tempera
These all sound delicious. (Besides the malt, I don't like alcohol.)
