See this is why I love your channel, other ones never give so much local knowledge, it's wonderful to learn about the culture, Thankyou so much to you two! Always looking forward to your videos 😊
Bread, beautiful bread! 🎉😋 I'm a Cream Pan girly, although I wouldn't say "no" to a Choco-Cornet. 😂 I'd never seen the Sanshoku-pan before, but I'd love that too! If you'd enjoy making a Kare Pan video, please do! Thank you, as always, for the great reviews and for the super useful links to the bakeries you visited. Love you both. 💙💚
This selection of breads made my mouth water, especially the chocolate cream filled one, yum!! I love seeing the massive variety of delicious treats you show us, there's not a lot of variety of Japanese food where I live as it's a regional area, so I live vicariously through your videos
I loved anko the first time I tried it. It's different from any other sweet I have ever had. The first time I tried it, the anko was the filling in a sponge cake with whipped cream filling. So good! 😊😊
We have a Japanese bakery in Columbus, Ohio, that has curry pan (they call it a curry donut) and choco coronet - along with lots of other things - but those two are among my favorites. They do a curry pan with a whole hard boiled egg inside and it is so good!
These looks great, thanks! One of my new habits when I visit Japan is to pick up coffee and bread before I go to a park to read and eat, so more interesting bread shops is always good.
My favourite Japanese bread is the one with a sausage in them. I don't eat much bread but I always have to have those when in Japan. When I was younger it was melon pan, but I find it often too sweet nowadays, but my daughter loves it. My husband's favourite is mushipan. I always like to check out neighbourhood bakeries. Everyone makes things just a little different and it's fun to try them, as well as support local businesses. It's easy to pick up something fron the supermarket or kombini but nothing beats a bakery.
I instantly put the Nakano bakery in my list for my birthday trip next year! We didn't really try any bakeries last time we went but I will rectify that this time. 😄
Filled breads at the first place looked amazing. Yakisoba in a roll, I'd enjoy it. Just reminded today of an odd sandwich, Chicken Chow Mein in a roll. It's a messy thing to eat, from Fall River, Mass US, created in 1930, small Chinese eatery. Chow Mein here comes with fried (dry) Mein noodles. Carb on carb. Explaining because I'm not sure you have that dish. Do you, or have you had it ever? I love anko!! Can't get enough.
@@TabiEats Just found out there is also a Japanese-Canadian Chow Mein sandwich. On a nice roll with toppings like nori and beni. Guess people will make a sandwich out of anything. Good!
Aloha Guys! Mahalo for sharing. I've visited Kimura ya before and my favorite is the An pan with the sakura flour. All those bakeries look so good but if I had to choose one I'd want to try Kazamidori, that chocolate horn looks so good and the Sanshoku pan is so intriguing, espeically the kabocha flavor. Japan has the best Pan and its so reasonable. By the way Shinichi this is off topic but I finally tried your Mother's kim chee recipe and it turned out good! Even my Mother in law who never gives me compliments said it was good. LOL I want to try the siu mai next.
Carb on carb sandwiches are sometimes the best sandwiches. I love taking leftover cold spagheti and putting in between two pieces of bread and eating it. I have always done that since I was little. No clue why but it is natural. I have also done that with left over coldslaw, left over sourkraut, and sometimes I even just do that with a piece of bread and a smear of sour cream. I am weird that way.
Great channel. I was so close to visiting Japan one point. I had experience with modeling and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity to visit the place that inspired artists like Toriyama San. R.I.P. and movie like 'Akira' or 'Ghost in the Shell'.
Great video guys, luv Japanese bakeries. We stayed last year at the Knot Hotel in Shinjuku and downstairs in the foyer they have an awesome bakery, so that was our breakfast stop every morning. Have you guys tried it?
Oo! Are there many bakeries that use sake yeast instead of baker's yeast? I cannot eat baker's yeast, so I am very excited to hear about this bakery! I'm definitely visiting it when I go to Japan.
Excellent video again! I m French an lived 6 years in Tokyo. If you don’t know I highly advise you guys to try « au bon vieux temps » a bakery near by Jyugaoka! And perhaps a nice video. Trust me you won’t regret a second 🎉
I remember little girl in Okinawa, I ate butter bun hotdog bread with butter creme and brown cookie spread with chocolate I don't see that anymore I saw obasan stores, I also like cabbage tempura have you tried that really yummy I love soft bread w 🍮custard, I miss obasan stores, are you guys going Okinawa they have Costco now
Hello! You have so many comments so this will probably get buried but... I figured I'd try 😅 I'll be going to Japan in November and I've used a lot of your videos to choose restaurants/street food places but we plan to end our trip in Yokohama and I was wondering if you could do a video about your recommended restaurants in Yokohama. Specifically udon or the best red brick house restaurants if you get the chance. I love your videos! Thank you for sharing all of your insider opinions and knowledge 😄
I love all kind of breads & pastries ❤ but I don't really like azuki-filled, don't know why 😋 I like chocolate, cream, fruit jam, cheese, nut and meat fillings, instead.
I LOVE melonpan! Guess what? I ordered your newest care package....thank u for not having spicy stuff this time lol.😅 I love anki but I dont like the chunky kind
We have a traditional Pastisserie on Barcelona and love to see the japanese traditional sweets. I also do some japanese sweets as dorayaki, melon pan, kare pan on our shop. 😊 Thanks so much for all the videos ❤
Seems to me your buns are like the French made Brioche. Which is a lightly sweetened puffy/fluffy bread. But hey! It Oudorp also be without sugars like the Dutch ‘Kadetjes’. Does not look like French Croissant dough.
A curry bread video? Yes, please! That would be amazing! ❤
Satoshi: "Yes it's carb on carb, but don't think too much." Wise words from a foodie!
A curry bread tour?! Yes please! I'll be adding a bread/bakery tour to our itinerary for when we visit 🤣
See this is why I love your channel, other ones never give so much local knowledge, it's wonderful to learn about the culture, Thankyou so much to you two! Always looking forward to your videos 😊

Even bad curry pan is so so so good. I will always watch more curry pan content!
I've been to Japan many times. I'll say this i come back 10-15 pounds heavier. I could live at the bakery.

I have tried a few of these breads in a Local Asian Grocery Store. I do not just like them,. - I LOVE THEM.
Thanks, I'll try if I have a chance. mostly I eat bread from convenient store or bakery in train station.

It must be similar to the yakisoba bread here

As a German, I would say that these are very tasty sweet pastries or sweet rolls. 😀
But... it all looks very tasty!

Agreed I’d like to see your best Curry breads. I keep seeing 天馬 in reviews but I don’t think it’s the best.
Coming soon!

I love sweet azuki beans

We need a curry pan off ❤❤❤
😘😘❤️🤩😍🥰🌈🙏💯🌹
The bun with the noodles you could roll the noodles inside the bread and then bake it. If you take a bite then the noodles show up.

Shortage of rice, never mind. Eat bread. Lots of variety.
I think when I visit Japan in October, I will come home much heavier…lol
I don't know how you two stay slim 😊
Please can you put the address of the bakery ? Thank You.
