That was a great review! Note: That Warning you see on your display is a Garmin thing; not an XMAX thing. I have a Garmin GPS in my car and that warning shows up every time I turn on the key.
This is my very first UA-cam comment, but I had to post it! It was a great review, especially accessories for someone who will be buying an XMax soon. Could you please kindly share all the links, particularly for the handle extension and manual cruise control?
Glad you found the review helpful :) Sure, I bought both of them from AliExpress and here are the links: 1) Manual cruise control: a.aliexpress.com/_mr1pdNI 2) Throttle grip assist: a.aliexpress.com/_mrieR9e They both cost less than SG$5 each. I’ll update the description with the rest when I get to my comp later. Cheers!
Good video. Thanks for going over many of the acce6. Stock seat is high about 140mm higher than my Harley. Does this Alie Xpress seat reduce the seat height by much or only a little ? Tbanks
It reduces the seat height, but the inseam is wider, especially at the front... so in the end it didn't really help much with my tip toeing issue. However, if I sit further back, I could feel the seat is much lower towards the middle/back and it is quite comfortable for cruising.
Great review! Very informative and straight to the point hahah. Can i know for vertically challenged riders on this, whats the most significant thing we can tackle first so that we dont have to tip toe so much? Like e.g. change the suspension first since it makes the most difference compared to the others, followed by a lowered seat, then followed by down forking etc.
👍! The most significant change for me was the lowered suspension kits. I started by upgrading my suspension systems to the lowered kits, followed by the comfort seat (ordered online and had to wait). The lowered comfort seats were mainly lowered further back near the middle area, but the front inseam area was still quite wide, so it didn't really help much with the tip toeing, especially when weaving through slow traffic. I have gotten used to it after a while and learnt to sit back and lean more to one side, which allowed me to flat foot on the ground during stops at traffic lights; it is actually quite comfortable. Takes some getting used to tho
Congrats on your new ride! I did most of my upgrades at Hotwheelz at Synergy@Kaki Bukit (the Carousell links in the description). They re-positioned my IU for me when they had to install the reservoirs for the brake.
Yeah, it's a bit slower compared to Google Maps. Personally, I use Google Maps more often unless my phone is occupied with other things such as video calls or video recording, then the I'll use the Garmin app to navigate.
I got the aftermarket one from AliExpress - link in the description :) Yeah, the elevated backrest provided additional lower back support for more comfort and the quality of leather seems better. It also looks better in my opinion. However, in terms of cushion thickness and ergonomics, I prefer the stock seat. Note that I bought the lowered option so there is less cushion; the non-lowered option may be better. The ergonomics for the stock seat is slimmer at the front near the thighs area which makes it easier to touch the ground and provides a more grippy feel similar to gripping a tank on a motorcycle when navigating slow traffic. The stock seat is also less rigid in terms of movement as it’s one big piece of cushion as compared to the comfort seat with the backrest in a fixed position. You can sit further back, sideways, etc. without much obstruction. I’m generally happy with the comfort seat based on my size and height as I can extend my legs straight in forward control position with my back resting on the backrest.
The upgraded brakes is using an adapter to mount onto the stock mount. Which is actually not legal and will 100% fail inspection. Don't know if you know that anot. LTA see also will summon you.
Yep! This setup is using the YSS lowered sport kit for the front fork. Recently, I have upgraded to the CDD Front Fork Kit (non-lowered) because I didn't like the "slamming effect" of the lowered fork when I go through humps fast. The new fork kit is more comfortable for riding, but the lowered sport kit makes the scooter look sportier and more aggressive.
Yep! No regrets with the purchase. The only small issue is that based on my setup, the length of the scooter is quite long, gotta take extra care when parking especially in tight spaces together with other bikes because it tends to stick out of lots and may block the path.
@@Jamesx9 Nice! Saw that the COE price has dropped recently, good timing ;) Fuel consumption is at around 35 km per litre for me on average. I usually pump Caltex 95 or Sinopec 95. I find that Caltex petrol provides better consumption compared to Sinopec (around 1-3 km/L difference on average). However, Sinopec gives better discount for me as I'm using OCBC card with Grab partnership. I alternate between the 2 because I heard Caltex petrol has better cleaning properties which is good for the system.
@jimmy_soh thanks for the opinion, I usually pump sinopec as well cause of discounts and caltax is nowhere near me haha. Glad to hear that you enjoy the bike.
Yep! Definitely. I have watched several other videos of XMAX heading up north... some even went all the way to Thailand. Very reliable scooter. The only concern I have for the V2 model is the visibility of the tail lights, they are quite slim and can be difficult to see especially when traveling at night. I put additional reflective stickers on my top box, upgraded my license plate light to a brighter bulb, and attach bicycle lights to my scooter when traveling up north at night.
Hi jimmy.. for the lack of visibility of the back light maybe u could change to a yellow plate that is the reflective type. I am using one myself and when my friend and I swopped bikes (insurance covered for both 😊) i realised you can be seen better on yellow number plate than the black one.
Did you just said Singapore dollar 23600,,,,,Wowww,....that must be 😬and just would like to let you know the connection on your iphone will always have connection problem, unless if you are using Android phone.
Yeah.. 11,500 just for the COE paper 😢. You’re right, sometimes my iPhone doesn’t connect automatically upon starting the scooter, have to do manually..
What a great review! Thank you brother! Hello from Chicago USA!
I like how you switched to clear brake fluid bottles to see when the fluid slowly gets darker
Jimmy soh..your mastery of the English language is brilliant!! Knowing such intricacies and big words of a 2nd language is amazing!!
Power bro ...me too still using and keep my xmax V1 ...Power

Good review 👍🏾
"Jimmy Soh" sounds like a gangster lol!!
Damn, this is a good review especially the first part where you just cut the BS and go straight to the point that everyone is waiting for
Are you using the Yamaha rear rack or aftermarket rear rack?
Are you able to flat foot it? Did the aftermarket seat lower your seating height a lot?
Hi , do the engine still consume engine oil like the last model?
I change engine oil around every 2000 to 2500 KMs. No issues so far with excessive EO consumption or anything
tq bro for sharing
🤝
Are u using Yamaha rack or aftermarket rack for ur box?
Hi. Where you get your scooter upgrade? How do you mount your IU? Just got my ride. Need to get the same IU like yours
Congrats on your new ride! I did most of my upgrades at Hotwheelz at Synergy@Kaki Bukit (the Carousell links in the description). They re-positioned my IU for me when they had to install the reservoirs for the brake.
Where did you buy the rear rack? I can’t find it anywhere
Damn 23,600 sgd?? Meanwhile Xmax price at Indonesia cost idr 66,000,000 which is only sgd 5,667 😢😢😢
There is thing called "CBU" & policy within sgpore.
Power
are the perfect motorcycles. The jump fpeople told me to buy this rom 300 to 400cc and the refinements
How is the navigation on the Garmin app? Heard from other reviews the navigation is a bit slow? Do you still rely on google maps on your phone more?

Save it for later...some modification quit interesting
Hey bro, where you get the seat from? And is there much difference in terms of comfort from the stock seat?
I got the aftermarket one from AliExpress - link in the description :)

hi jimmy, how about your fork? did you downfork? cos seems a little lower.

So do u like it after few months. Any regrets?

Do you have the link for the rear rack please.
Xmax good enough for trip up north ?

hi there how many km are u getting per litre on your bike?
Hi there, about 35 km per litre based on my riding style in general SG roads.
the phone connect navigation - does it need monthly subscription? eg monthly payment?
Nope, don't need

162cm
Damn. I’m only a centimetre shorter than you, and I’m on the stock seat. Glad to know you have no big issue with the bike height, as tall as it is.
