I've done some blacksmithing and I noticed that in most of these videos the craftsmen are either squatting or sitting on the floor. I couid not work sitting like this, I need a full sized anvil on a wooden block (height adjusted so that if I hold a hammer horizontally the surface would be flat on the anvil. Similarly a vise has to be at the height of my elbow when standing. I also know how hot metal sparks or droplets hurt. For me long trousers, closed boots and a leather apron, plus leather gloves, are the basic equipment, plus a face shield when welding or safety goggles when grinding something.
At 8:17; I noticed the definite abscence of any safery shoes, or ANY Shoes; For that matter. Bare Feet is a sure way to get a serious burn. Also : NO EYE PROTECTION and ALL while running a huge metal grinder with sparks flying at him. UUUUGGGHHHHH !!!
When welding or blacksmithing you want cotton clothing. Yes it is flammable like any other clothing, but at least it doesnt ignite as fast like polymers. When welding in a cotton t shirt al you have is little holes from the spatter in your shirt(and skin). Beats molten polymers or catching fire on the first spark. In this case he could/should have worn leather chapps or something.
This is nothing short of slave labour. Respect for these hard working guys who have their bodies broken and poisoned every day, just so they can put food on the table.

In South Asia, everything is done sitting on the floor, from cooking to eating to working, even pooping. People are more comfortable this way.
Forging is forging. Tooling and a systemic approach. These guys may work in different conditions and materials. But they give a textbook example.
