    Stan, great informative video. I plan to use one of the military credit unions, I hear that they also refund bank fees.

    ❤❤ If you go to USPS informed delivery and open a free account. You can look at a photo of your mail for the past week.
    When opening an account, the post office will send you a temporary password to setup your account.
    If you are out of the country and have a friend or relative receiving your mail, this is a great way to see the outside of the envelope of what you are receiving.
    Hope this helps. Have them forward your temporary password to you in an email.

    I hear Capital One is also either Low or No Fees on Foreign Transactions. I'll compare my Credit Union & Cap One & see what the Fees & Exchange Rates look like.

    western union is now wiring money from a USA bank to a Philippine bank and its only cost 99 cents usd . but it takes about 8 days to get the money

      I didn't see that option but the fee is nice. The 8 days could be tough though. Thanks for the info, we appreciate it 🙂

    Great video. I agree with using Charles Schwab.
    Does anyone have experience using the Pomelo card?

    A few tweeks from a guy that has been here full time for 8+ years.
    When you use WU or Xoom don't send ₱. Only send $ and convert here. You only lose 0.5₱ on the rate.
    Wise has done GCash transfers for quite a while.
    Opening a bank account on a tourist visa can be problematic. First off it is against the Central Bank rules. My account was almost closed during an audit but fortunately I had just gotten permanent residency.
    There are other crackdowns happening as well. LTO will not issue licenses to tourists or renew the license of a 9a holder.
    The 36 month extension limit on a tourist visa is coming under scrutiny. Interviews at each extension and a report to HQ if the expat has been here over a year on 9a.
    What would happen to your motorcycle, car, apt lease, girlfriend, kids, etc if BI decides not to renew your 9a and you only have 2 weeks to get out?
    If you come here as a tourist, be a tourist.
    If you want to live here, get a permanent resident visa.

    Getting a bank account with the ACR is hit or miss. One branch of BDO would not give me an account. I didn’t try again since I thought that was the end of it but I have seen on other blogs that ACR was enough for others so I think it depends upon who you’re talking to and not policy. I was also rejected by one branch of BPI even with my SRRV, she wanted a notarized lease contract of where I was renting. I walked down the street and opened an account with metro bank without that hassle.

    Every time I go there and visit I do it the easy way. I just wire myself money to Western Union cost me $4.99. It avoids all International Bank fees and card fees

    GCash is telling me that it is only available to Filipino citizens. Won't let me register account .

      Sorry to hear that. Almost every expat I know has Gcash. If you are using a Philippines phone number I have no idea what is up.

    But what happens if I plan to stay in the Philippines and not come back to USA, will I have a problem with Charles Schwab? with my address

    • @stanleyandjenlyncrum7582
      @stanleyandjenlyncrum7582  28 днів тому

      If you have no way of having a stateside address, a relative for example, then you will eventually run into a problem. I use my daughter's address. Thanks for watching🙂

    Hello there Mr. Stanley, you mean, you could transfer money using US checking account?? to GCash app. , no fee Is this reliable no scammer??
    Regarding post paid and prepaid cell plan?? Post paid meaning you enroll yearly with contract?? While the prepaid meaning you have to load every time you need a data to your cellphone?? Is this included internet, text, local calling??
    Thank you and more power to your channel. God bless

    • @stanleyandjenlyncrum7582
      @stanleyandjenlyncrum7582  Місяць тому

      Yes, it is legitimate. I have already done it. You use Remitly to fund your Gcash. With Remitly you can use your US checking account. You are correct on the post and pre paid plans. Thanks for watching 🙂

    This video is only 1 day old and the exchange rate is only 56.34 not anywhere near 58.48 so what's up with you're calculations?

    • @stanleyandjenlyncrum7582
      @stanleyandjenlyncrum7582  29 днів тому

      I did all of my research and development for the video about 10 days prior to filming. The concepts and intent of the video remain the same. Sorry if it seemed off to you but the exchange rate wasn't the focus of the video. Thanks for watching!

    Most vloggers I watch recommend Xoom or Remitly as their main option
    Yes, Several Vloggers has talked about setting up a Schwab accounts, BUT it was closed
    by Schwab since their money wasn't in an International account & they were sending
    money to the Phils. Then another Vlogger "Gio" opened a Schwab account Both from the Phils.
    & while in The US & Both times it was closed by Schwab

    I may have missed this in some of your videos. In the area you live in are there HOA fees? Also what city are you in? I’m making my plans for this coming March.

    • @stanleyandjenlyncrum7582
      @stanleyandjenlyncrum7582  Місяць тому

      Hello sir, our HOA fee is 600 pesos monthly but is included in our payment. The fee is based on the square meters of your home. For renters, the fee is normally paid by the owner. We are in Lipa City, Batangas. Thanks🙂

    what about using "wise" to transfer from USA to the philippines. have you looked into that method. I've got a wise account, haven't used it yet, but I also have remitly, and western union. how do I get an account like the one you use.

    • @stanleyandjenlyncrum7582
      @stanleyandjenlyncrum7582  Місяць тому

      I haven't looked into Wise but will check it out. I just went online and opened an investors checking account at Charles Schwab bank. You have to be in the USA to open the account. Thanks for sharing and dropping by today🙂
