Isn't it funny how inept our Government is? On every level.

Sadly but stupidly the powers that be think that just throwing billions of dollars at things will fix the problems... never works that way.

How about all the land developers pay for the issues since they stood to benefit the most from the prison move? The rich get richer and the rest of us have to pay for this ridiculousness.

    Fun fact
I remember hearing from a prior inmate at Draper that if an inmate were to assault a C.O. the charges aren’t as severe as if an inmate were to assault another fellow inmate with sexual violence charges. C.O.s aren’t as protected as Sex Offenders so maybe that’s way y’all are struggling to get people to work at prisons and jails. Sex Offenders are a protected class in prisons and jails and if you’re caught assaulting them it’s classified as a hate crime, which can add years to a sentence an a new felony charge to your record. So…..maybe investigate that? And way so many sexual predators are getting released for parole. Protect your children because the government can’t.

Totally agree the United States protects child predators especially if they have money

My son is disabled and there is a hepatitis c outbreak at the new Utah prison they don't quarantine the infected and they make the inmates pay for medical care, they also steal or misplace property and they don't reimburse the inmate, the 13' inch TV is 250.00 add another 50 for activation fee, since it's my money I should be able to press charges for theft on the facility. My son is disabled and he has no discernment he told me he bought a towel 10.00 and they took it, they took his brand new t-shirts, this is disturbing 😢

@@Stacey505 They do steal peoples stuff. They operate off of the concept of Sharecropping and debtors slavery. Why they can extort people, violate racketeering laws, and deprive people of just payment and due process of the law is beyond oppressing people. But they are given the green light from the government. And officer Fulk is one of the bad cops. Lt Whitney went out of her way to help people. Including myself. Full is rascist and joins in on officers harassing inmates. I have witnessed Her and her husband and 2 other C.O.’s assault another inmate for sleeping in his cell at Noon. And then take everything out of the inmates cell and leave him in the cell with nothing. No bedding or anything.

Exactly the prison move benefited a handful of people but caused more problems. It cost us the taxpayers way more than they ever told us. We are being lied to by corrupt and greedy lawmakers.

One of the biggest problems is that they don't have the people who volunteer. Draper was close to people to come. Now they have to pay for them to be there. Lots of people where against the move for this and other reasons. So yeah they have a staff shortage when they don't have volunteers. They also lost some of their staff. People who just didn't want to commute to the new place.
When the hole thing was rolled out it looked good on paper if you didn't look at how many more staff they were going to need to hire. If I remember correctly it was almost twice as much as before.
So the move dropped the number of staff then they needed more than they had. Now that they are open they still haven't gotten to the number of staff that they need and they are going to struggle with that for some time.

Appears to be a similar situation and problem in most states..you want an inmate to be productive, teach them how..rehabilitation over punishment.

Increase pay as well as education dealing with inmates..keep doing the same protocols and not changing behaviors among employees and inmates ..surprise..you get the same results..not good for me as a taxpayer or creating inmates to become productive citizens

The State put officers in charge of construction. That was the problem. They always have Iron Grip and put unable people in charge.

I think prisons would be much more effective if prisoners had no contact with other prisoners. It would probably be easier to manage too.

I think you should investigate an incident where Fulk along were her conspirators Went into an inmates cell and assaulted him for sleeping at Noon. I have it documented let me give you KSL the real Officer Fulk. At 1722 on 1.18.2023. The cops went into Antelope Lowside 3 Cell 216 and assaulted him for no reason, he was trying to sleep and the cops kept harassing him. Fulk, Walker, Tulley, Tran, and another cop I don’t know, Sgt Allen watched it. Nolan Osborne ordered it, because Jesse was trying to sleep. That was my witness documentation of one of may events of the Police Misconduct, Police Brutality, and Civil right Violations. All that was brought on because an inmate was trying to sleep and the officers like to obnoxious bang on your window shouting. Which is cruel and unusual punishment. Hours later they attacked the inmate for sleeping. I have other Events recorded where she is directly involved in other Civil Rights Abuses. I think you need to focus more on the Corruption and Civil Rights violations That the officers are conspiring to commit!
