You should be very proud of yourselves that you have no credit card debt and that you only have a small loan for the renovation expense. (Most young American couples are saddled with debt.). The easiest way to be frugal is to not succumb to impulse spending - I always wait a few days before I buy something that is tempting but is not a necessity. So glad you are posting more on uTube.
$3000/month sounds decent for what seems like an upper middle class lifestyle (2 cars, renovated home, entertainment and dining out). That is all after tax spending, of course.
Sounds perfectly fine - I spend 1,500€ a month for my teenage son and I over here in Germany (700€ fixed expenses and another 800€ on food, clothes, hygiene, school supplies …). My home is not half as nice as theirs - way smaller too. I think they build a good existence for themselves. I think they must be high earners - cause I would think Italians only make 1,500€ a months a lot of the time.
Awesome ~ just found your channel. Yes, it's possible to make a budget for less, especially the food. I love fresh swordfish so will always treat myself to that. 🤩
I used to live in italy in the 80's and it was fairly affordable at the time. My long term goal is to retire in Italy and enjoy the rest of my life like i did as a teenager.❤
Haha yes thanks for catching that! There was a time, around Covid times, that gas was 2.25 a liter. I think I remember that as being 11 bucks a gallon.
@HEMI345S lol! I do spoil them with fancy feast and top their meals with freeze-dried meat and gravy. The cats cost me $210 monthly including their pricier dust-free litter.
I live in central Italy Just in front at Sea, i'm single too with 2 Cats in my own house with Garden,NO CAR(don't Need) 2 bike and i spend less than 500 euro a month for living!!! Ciao bella
There are so many bloggers who sell American audience that Italy is so cheep. Finaly someone honest and realistic. I live in north of Italy, and i can tell its real numbers. We as a family of 3 spend something like that on living expenses. Also childcare ( asilo etc.) Would be interesting to compare.
In respect to America it’s cheaper but then again salaries are much higher in America, so it’s all relative. Exactly, as a family with kids there are just more expenses. And I didn’t even get into shopping/clothes expenses 😳
3000€ is what I spend in a big US city or in Switzerland as single and with frugal attitude... 3000€ for an entire family of 4 with 2 cars is suuuuper cheap
Hi! Nice meeting you both! Thank you for sharing your expenses. Where in Sicily did you move to❓ I am coming to Sicily in September for several months, I am registered to go to Italian learning school in Palermo. I am looking for Villages to go and see while I am there, I want to move to Sicily. I would love if you could share. Thank you so much, Susan 😊
I live in Sicily and I think that your budget is realistic for a family of 4 and 2 working parents! Many will spend the same as you (again, with two average salaries) but the sad thing is they save pretty much nothing. At best 2-300€ a month
its nice to know, but the real question is what does it cost to get residency in Italy???? I am looking to move from the United States, but the least expensive places to live have ridiculous hoops and $$ requirements to actually live there.
Can I ask how much your small loan was to renovate your home, because it’s beautiful and I’d love to know roughly how much would be spent to get a home to that level. Grazie Mille
Sorry, hate to be that person but U.S. isn't 10K a month "easy" as you said for living expenses. Unless your living in New York, LA, or the Bay Area. I live in Lake Tahoe, NV, $2700/month as a family of 4.
@@Santindarainitaly O__O My apartment is 70 sqm and in 2023 I payed 246 €. In Rome, not central neighborhood, but not suburb either. How many sqm is your house?

you mentioned you lived about an hour from Palermo?, which location do you live? I am considering moving to Palermo shortly. Can you tell me the best person or entity to contact to get my grandparents birth certificate. They were born in Palermo. Is there a way to contact you directly?
Mamma mia Italy is a little bit expensive!! I live in some Asia country and I do for everything with equivalent of 400 Euro at month , apartment for rent in a building of 20 floors , at month 126 Euro , electricity 12 Euro , water 3 Euro, here we not need gas ,because we are all year in hot temperature daily and night about from 28 to 35 degrees!! I have the car and Vespa, every day I eat fish , generally with 8 Euro you can eat a mixed fish !!
Unfortunately Italy pays very much for gas, and this influences also the electricity costs, because most of the electricity comes from thermic power plants that run on gas. We pay a lot for gasoline also, and this influences a lot of costs, because usually goods need transportation.
Wow, I spend 3300 a month and now living on my savings 😢. I’m totally single renting in Raleigh Nc, car lease, rent food insurance all that totally alone $3300 how can I get a visa and get out of here?? I’m fully fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and English, but I’m not techky, I have tons of years of successful marketing and love the slow phase life….. help anyone advise. And no will not married to anyone just for a visa😂
Just look into it. Visit a few places in northern Italy, central and south Italy before you decide. You can do it for cheaper than $3200 a month. I travel there 3 months out of the year. You can do this. Just try it, why not!

Thanks so much. It’s much harder to take out lines of credit here. In America they make it very easy. 😘😘

€1.80/liter of gas is approximately $7.42/gallon. We do gas math a lot because we road trip in Italy often... Haha!

You can estimate to pay a little less than 2€ per l. A gallon is about 4 l - so 8€ per gallon - which equals to 9 dollars a gallon.

No F way dude. Try that in Florida
An hour to Palermo just like from my town Collesano, where do you live ….. maybe Cefalu’ ???
How much was the nose job ?
Why is trash 80 per month. That seems crazy. Did you mean per year??
It is essentially the local property tax, doesn't actually really mean it covers just trash.
No they are big on recycling, separating trash etc... no worries
We are moving to Sicily. Is the trash price really $80 a month or was that a mistake?
Depends on how big your home is…that’s an average. Yearly we pay around 800-900€
