Big Ern is the man, I'm living out my dream through you sir, thank you.
Best video yet! Love when your talking to the FO about more casual things! Gives people insight into the great SWA community! Keep up the great work Luke and Ernie!
I hope you had a good stop in Nashville and at BNA. We are excited Southwest is opening a crew base in Nashville. It is a great place to live, work and play. Thank you for doing these videos. I always enjoy watching what you have to share!
If you could only see the joy you bring to my dad. He loves Southwest Airlines so much.
I LOVE the CfA milkshakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always get the cookies and cream milkshakes.
Love the way you partner with your first officer! Go SWAL!
Been watching your channel.. love the content,..I’m a Captain with AA..737. I’m curious to what camera you use for your content..id like to start a channel.for hobby which is providing parachute demonstrations for veterans events..I’m a prior Army Parachute Demonstrator….any help would be appreciated Jeff
Thank you as always for the "Jumpseat Pass". I always try to compliment the pilots on the good landings with "Way to grease it!" They always seem to appreciate it.
Big Ern having to slum it in Nashville instead of the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Oahu 😭
Love these videos. We lived in SoCal for many years and flew in and out of Burbank more times than I can count. I still get a little flutter in my gut coming in over those school busses knowing we have to get on the ground rightnow after that. A smooth landing there is truly an accomplishment! Using the rear stairs, especially to board, is the best little secret. I hope to see you on a flight out of Oakland or Seattle someday.
As a passenger, I've always loved flying in and out of the Burbank airport. I remember when the only way to board a plane there was with the airstairs. 💙
Ernie you are a leader and someone I strive to be like one day. Keep doing these videos, they are truly to enjoyable to watch.
Hey Big Ern, I'm looking at SWA as a potential employer. But I've heard things aren't as good as they used to be there. That the QOL and culture have degraded. I don't know what to believe, but I've heard of strikes and that the pilots are pushing for a new contract. Can you respond on those items? Great video as usual. Love the content!!
..always a great day..when our favorite Capt Ern..is sitting right there in the cockpit..and just smiling..to all of us..
Big Ern is like a better looking younger Obama. Love your videos!
I soloed last Friday. It was pretty cool!
You at at Party Fowl in Terminal D. It’s good.
Best bbq on the planet in Nashville. One of the rare occasions I’d go out with the crew.
I love when you fly into SJC my hometown airport. I took my PPL training at Reid-Hillview, which is 5 miles away from SJC. I am old enough to remember the days of disembarking from the rear and front of the aircraft onto the tarmac. They used to do that extensively at SJC back in the 60s and 70s. I find it rather odd that European pilots can film in flight while US pilots cannot. For this reason, I think the FAA needs to pull its head out.
Loved it: thanks for taking us along!
Honest question, do you miss the classics or do you like the current fleet?
An 11! I love it
First comment Woohoo! Keep up the great work Captain
Maybe delete the part where you say you're fatigued.
It's common in a job like being a pilot, railroad engineer/conductor or trucker
Who need to fly Singapore Airlines First Class when for a fraction of the cost you can fly Southwest and have Big F'n Ern as your pilot!
Going...... UP!
Cool videos. I wanted to say my last trip.with Southwest. Was disappointed my flight was delayed. My Return flight. Plane was broke for one hour. You guys at Southwest need work on flight delays. But whats new, even my job were alawys behind. Lol
Hey, are you the captain in BNA that made a wrong turn at "SWA-Speed taxi" and went head-to-head with our jet when you were on the incorrect taxiway? 🤔🤔
Good job making into Burbank without an overrun like Southwest had TWICE in the past.😶☹️
Ah man...I was just through Nashville last Friday...actually arrived at D5 was hoping I would see ya!
Sorry been watching your vids for awhile ( keep them coming) , I know you were guard, tanker but must have missed before you left the guard what was your rank. Just asking cause it took a few years to get 4 bars, I am 1 year away to REE( 15 years in) or find a job on the outside, Active pilot want to see what my future might look like although I have applied to many airlines at this time we are busy.
Ern, when reading the temperature at destination places please inform the temps in Celsius as well, I have no idea what 85 degrees in F means.
Love your videos though.
Going to start my private pilots license in the spring. Super excited to get to flying.
Ahhh, just missed you. Flew in and out of Nashville about 3 weeks ago. Even wore my Flying With Big Ern t-shirt.
It could be nice you could show something of your flights..not only the before and after..Cheers
I think ur the guy in the Boeing 737 Max 8 delivery video. What does the key for the plane do? Is it use to start up the plane?
It would probably be helpful to everyone if maintenance let you know before you arrived that they were taking the bird.
Always love when you document your work day. Are you gonna do another one?
Next layover is San Jose visit Original Joe's for an amazing Italian meal.
The prohibition against filming in flight is that a US regulation or company?
I’ve had great landings at Burbank. Granted it was in a 177 Cardinal 😂
currently flying in us military awesome to see that the transition to the civilian side.
I learn so much from you captain your the best Ernie 💙
I saw you on TikTok! The southwest page, picking up and brand new Max. You’re becoming a celebrity bro
Share that link
@@XX-166won’t let me share the link. Just the Southwest page on TikTok though
Big Ern is the top G
mate show us some toga onwards, that's all that counts
Good evening Sir Big Ern. How are you.
I'm watching this thinking when or if that part 91 in the 73 max video will ever air (pun intended). Looking forward to it
show us some flying mann
show us some flying man
I’ve been to Nashville
Yea, San Jose, my home town airport when I was younger, then I was an Albuquerque lady, now I’m a Denver girl. I skipped the Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, San Francisco and Austin airports, not to mention, Rome 🤯😵💫. Love the videos, and I enjoy it when you mention any unusual experiences during your flights. 🎉
are you real MIKE MEEKS
Burbank looks like it must get a lot of mechanical? 1650m short for A US airport which always seem very generous
Hah the Burbank to Northern California flight, did many trips with Southwest in the 1990's.
You are sooo amazing ! ❤
God bless you all ❤❤😊
Hey big Earn, as usual love your video’s it’s a shame you cannot shoot video for some flight. Maybe someday. I enjoy at least cockpit view when can.
Big Ern. Mister Cool. Love hearing from you. Looking forward to the next adventure. Keep chillin', pal.
Another great video! Cant wait to see the Max pickup video soon. Been waiting for that one. Should be epic!!
Good as always sir, what makes me laugh is that the low coast carriers expect there crew to bring a packed lunch with them for dinner🤣how times have changed.
Another good video as always Ern.
As someone who has flown Ryanair umpteen times, I'm actually more accustomed to using stairs to board an aircraft rather than a Jet Bridge. I think it is pretty cool though since you can get up-close with the aircraft and I often have time for a quick photo op of it as normally you're waiting for the crew to finish the turnaround and clean the aircraft.
I heard somewhere that the likes of a very similar airport like Burbank could never be built anymore as I don't think it meets the FAA's modern safety regulations but yeah it's very old-school and hopefully your roster allows you to go out there soon and I'll keep an eye out for the MAX drop
Thanks as always Ern.
Ever bid a flight to Reno?.That's' where we live.
Thanks Ern Love the flight deck content i try hard to uderstand the pilot talk but i just love being in the flight deck thank you
Cheers kym
Adelaide
Love the new thumbnails, Captain, keep up the great work.
I love how you apply real world to your videos, but I have a question. Is there any similarities between the SR22 and the Jets you fly "at work"?
👋🏻KSRQ/KBNA ☀️🌴🇺🇸✈️
Great video! Thanks for sharing a very interesting time, Big Ern!
Always a pleasure to watch you do your thang!!
Hi Ern is there a FAA or Southwest restriction from mounting a camera in the cockpit while flying. Just watching you taking off or at the start of decent would be simply awesome. Thank you for all the videos. Ken
Hi Ken, thanks for the comment. Cheers!
Whoa!! Deplaning from the back (something I've never experienced on a 737) is a flashback of sorts to the last days of the Alaska/Horizon Q400 Dash 8's here in Central Orygon (ending just a couple of months ago) where a clever traveler would select a back seat in that little turboprop to be able to exit out the back rather than have to sit waiting for everyone to depart from the front...
Thanks for the Ride, Big Ern...and thanks for taking us along with you and a former squadron mate 🙂
I saw on the evening news a few nights ago about the newer planes have a special guard for the flight deck.I will feel better if I fly again.Enjoyed seeing your flight👋✈️✈️✈️
My wife's great, something grandfather was instrumental in the earliest settlement of central Tennesee and is credited with founding Nashville. One of his grandsons became a major Texas Embrsario Circa 1822. Sterling Clack Robertson brought 400 families to pre revolutionary Texas, and his son, Elijah, shortly later brought 800. As we sail along in air-conditioning at the 39,000 it might be good thing to remember the great cost for our shining cities on the hill. Wives & children were buried following Indian attacks, etc.....fair skies & tail winds!
Always love the flying vlogs! Hope to meet you one day in the skies!
