    From the playing lessons I give it’s amazing the amount of times my pupils are about 30/40 yards short of the green. I’ve set up a 40 yard target green on our practice ground. Great video and really useful for all.

    Man. This is golden. I’ve became soooo much better on these half wedge shots by keeping a longer low spot(shallower attack). I had to discover this on my own, by just experimenting. It’s even made my pitching, and chipping much more predictable with my strike. I’m a 3 hc by the way, but I’m always experimenting with things to get better. This absolutely works! Great content.

      Thanks for that comment makes a lot of sense...question? Adam says Good Tour ball do you think balls make a difference and what balls to you like to use

    • @jamiesloan7259
      @jamiesloan7259 Рік тому

      @@jmm1817 I only play soft cover balls. I just don’t like that clicky sound of a hard ball. Especially on chips, and putts. I normally play Callaway Supersoft. Very soft feel, but still very inexpensive. However, they are very low spin. I hit the ball high, so it’s not a big deal on approach shots. And, I’ve learned to account for more rollout on chip shots. The premium balls definitely have more “bite”, but it’s just not worth the money for me. Plus, you’ll have to account for all that extra spin. I was playing a Chrome Soft the other day, and I flew it directly over the pin, only to have it rip back off the front edge of the green(ripped back 10 yards). Even though it looked cool, it prevented me from having a very close birdie putt. My advice is to play the same ball, or at least play the same “type” of ball.

    Never thought about cleaning the club face. It is now a permanent part of my golf game.

    For some reason I have a hard time with a full swing wedge. I keep spraying them to the right which throws off my tempo. This transcends to the short pitch and I get really frustrated. I like your silky smooth swing and am going to work on that against my practice net first then take it to the driving range. You always make it look so easy. Love your work.

      @@Scratchgolfacademy I watched your video demonstrating that and got me excited because I hadn't tried it. I'm afraid my rhythm got worse. Quoting Mickelson, paralysis by analysis. I guess I'm not the most coordinated golfer on the course. I was able to recover my other clubs with a few shots though. Keep making videos. Something has to take.

    • @theindooroutdoorsman
      @theindooroutdoorsman Рік тому +1

      @@sneakerholic8151 I have a pitching and gap that came in my irons set, 45 and 50 respectively. I have a Wilson 56 and a Tommy Armor 60 degree. For chipping I use my chipper which is 45 degrees.
      I rarely use my 60, feels like a waste of money. I originally got it for greenside bunkers, but I've gotten really good at splash shots with my 56 and no longer use the 60.

      I am 64 years old and have always had a decent short game. I have lost so much distance due to a serious shoulder injury that I have had to rely even more on chipping and putting. Like you, I bought a chipper, and it changed my life as well. Over the last 60 rounds of golf, I have averaged 31 putts per round. Probably because I miss so many greens now.
