Cracking video My wife's got one had it almost 6 years now and still going strong! 😊
Thanks a mil, figured I might as well put my hard earned knowledge of these yolks to good use
Thanks for the video, have you ever had to take out the injectors on the car
No thankfully, I try to keep them clean with fuel libricant like the dipethane that I use. I heard from a mechanic that they're a real pain to get out because of their placement.
I have almost the same engine (2009) in my Bipper. My EGR valve failed twice. 1st time water in the electronics causing corrosion. second time the solenoid coil shorted. Now I have permanently closed the EGR valve and made a circuit to let the car think the EGR is switching to the right position. Works fine for 2 years now. Only recently I have issues when accelerating with a cold engine above around 2000 rpm the engine starting to stutter. Also the car smells bad when idling. No error codes in the computer. My dealer has no clue. whats wrong. I think some injectors are bad. Not a cheap fix.
It could be, but I'd check the airflow sensor and post-turbo airflow sensor just to be sure, the poor acceleration was just like you described for me and it was the airflow sensors. Also if your car is the 1.6 engine it'll have a DPF which is a common culprit for issues like this (the 1.4 just has the EGR).
If it is injectors I've heard they are a pain to get out of that engine, that's why I use fuel lubricants like diepthane to clear out carbon from injectors / cat
The engine is the 1.4 HDI without DPF like your's. Today opened the Diesel fuel tank. Tank is totally clean. I did not expected this after 15 yrs . Only in the pickup unit was some gummy black stuff floating around. Drives Ok for now but if this solved my issues I have to see the next days. Thanks for the advise I will clean the airflow sensors. The OBD software reading normal values but it can't hurt to clean them.
@@Bus2000 when my airflow sensors were caked in dust it didn't trigger anything on the OBD either, occasionally I'd get an anti-pollution faulty message and an engine light which would go away (and often the OBD would read that as an EGR range error). For every thing that shows up on the OBD, there's 3 things which won't show up!
@@Gneeznow I will clean them Thanks 👍
Hello, I have the same problem with a gap at the side of the air box. The MAF sensor sometimes spikes and triggers the engine light and code for the MAF sensor. Did sealing that gap in the air filter box fix the problem for you and how did you seal it?
Yep it did fix the problem, I also made sure the pipes at the back of the airbox were more secure since they have a tendancy to fall out of place. I sealed the box with self-tapping wood screws, it ain't pretty but it worked just fine
how do you clean or replace the EGR? where is it? i have a 2010 Peugeot 207 VTi and i get the anti pollution fault - also have a little white smoke constantly from my exhaust, which smells foul like old gas. I may try cleaning or replacing exhaust solenoid at front of engine under dipstick
I'd check your coolant levels first to see if it's burning coolant (if that's causing the white smoke then your head gasket is goosed).
The EGR on my model is at the back of the engine on the right hand side if you were standing in front of the car looking towards it. To get to it you need to remove the air box and battery and get in around behind the engine that way. There's a good few videos out there on youtube for these Peugeot EGRs
a solution for faulty antipollution..please
It can be about 30 different things, in my case it was fouled throttle body and mass airflow sensors. It could also be the EGR valve. You need to plug in an OBD2 scanner to point you in the right direction
My little 1.4 HDI C1 has an issue. The engine hesitates sometimes when accelerating. It happens at idle as well, but at random times. It drops revs as a "misfire". No codes on tester. Any suggestions?
If it is intermittent like you say my guess would be it's the oxygen sensor (Lambda Sensor), those things tend to cut in and out when they start to go, in turn the ECU gets bad readings and messes up the mixture going into the engine.
@@Gneeznow interesting. I was thinking MAF sensor, EGR etc. I'll have a look, guessing there are two in total.
@@GlossaME If it were MAF it would be a constant loss of power, and if it were EGR then it would likely trigger a code. Lambda sensors tend to not trip a code, and also be erratic
@@Gneeznow thank you very much, I appreciate your input as you had your fair share of experience with these engines.
Looking at buying a 2011 1.4hdi 207 .. do you recommend them as a good car... and in all their faults they are relatively cheap to repair?
As in all cases it largely depens on how well it was looked after by previous owners. They are sensitive to regular services, dirty oil in these cars has a tendency to cause blockages in the turbo's oil feed. Check the turbo like I did in the video before you buy it!
I find it cheap to repair, and there's loads of them on the road so second hand parts are easy enough to get. But like I said I wouldn't buy without checking the turbo on it first.
Another big advantage these cars have is they do NOT have a DPF (diesel particulate filter), when those things go wrong they can cost thousands to fix, not having one at all is a big advantage (the 1.6 diesel does have one however)
Got 2 of them 14hdi and none of them are running at the moment . having said that they are a great Diesel car... I drove a toyota diesel for a year in limp mode.. When it come to these car you have to not give a shit.
