- Heya Pals!
This episode we've got some more work from Project Apollo, this time it's speedpainting backgrounds! I've developed this process naturally over time as I think most artists do, to build a composition really quickly, which works very well for pixel art and game dev. Works like this drive my creative choices and make early prototypes of the game look presentable with very little time investment. It's important to create that vision!

Later, pals!
This is probably the best Pixelart tutorial series that I've watched, just because it's so authentic and inspiring.
AdamCYounis, Brandon James greer and Saultoons are the first that i followed and i still get back to their videos for some tips or help in certain that i really need a quick help and they cover everything in between videos. Really helpful and OP Sir(s) they are in Pixel Art.
Can you do a video about how you compose music for your games and SFX
This channel has the best pixel art tutorials on UA-cam. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and knowledge with us. The only complaint that I have is sometimes I can not see the tool selected on the right because of the frame of the video😄
Thanks for sharing your inner process while you work. Invaluable and insightful. Super helpful identifying which aspects you’re considering also, ie composition, blocking our shapes, and your analogies and references are spot on with sculpting and bob ross. I’ve recently rekindled an old passion for illustration and found my way back to it through pixel art. Thank you for your contribution to this medium and it’s community ✌🏼
Hey Adam, I've started watching you a few weeks ago. Can't tell how much you helped me in pixel art. I followed your running tutorials and I was pretty satisfied with my own work. But when I tried to do some other animation like jumping or attacking, I found myself confused. Wanted to ask you if you have any plans to make a video where you create an animation you haven't created yet, so we can see the full process (where you look for references, how you understand the motions and capture that motion for the first time in pixel art.) Thank you so much!
Hey there! So nice to hear I've helped you improve. The "Aerial Slash animation" video is one I'd never done before. I'm afraid the technique I use is a bit hard to learn from because it seems so freeform, but I think it would be a great idea if I made a video where I ease it up a bit and show the basics of how I came to this approach in a more explanatory way. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@AdamCYounis I would love to see this
These tutorials are amazing! I'm learning so much. Thank you!
You are an artist, its more than a tutorial about pixel art. Awesome impressionism touch, thanks a lot ! Thumb and sub from France !
funny you say bob ross, i keep telling everyone you are the bob ross of the pixel world!!!
I can not thank you enough for all the tutorials, i would be lost with out you man!!!
I was trying to do clouds for my game thanks for the explanation!
Glad I could help!
Your videos are better than a lot of pixel courses I've paid for
I'm learning lots of really good tips from this course. :)
Hi Adam.
I discovered your channel two weeks ago, and I wanted to say I made so much progress in two weeks thanks to all your greats advices ! Thank you.
Спасибо за урок, мой друг. Очень мало освещают подобное творчество в русскоязычном ютюбе.
а что это за прога?
This is an amazing tutorial! I like how you can share some of the creative ideas and tricks when painting. Keep up the good work!
Your tutorials really help me a lot, thanks!
I was watching your video and a 'Never gonna give you up' song came up by Rick Astley; which I thought was so troll and watched the entire thing whilst singing along. And after it cut to you saying 'that's quite good' after to your drawing and I couldn't stop laughing lol 😆
Just discovered your channel, I think I saw some tutorial of a run from you some time ago, the few vids I watched so far were really nice, keep up! :)
I know this channel is to promote the pixel program but its one of the more genuine channels. I find most influencers or youtubers are more concerned with ego, making money, or just tools for woke politics.
I admire your passion and your tutorials are very concise without the trendy fluff of the culture.
Thank you good sir.
Adam have you any vids with tips on background resolution and layer selection for parallax 2d games? I am creating a platformer in pixel game maker mv. Keep up the excellent work man 👍
Thank you for your commentary! i am learning so much^^!!
Thanks for sharing this
I wish I had as much motivation as you. I hope one day I can make my own game
Just start now :)
You are super talented and you really are able to share your though process well. Thank you so much! Also, are you using a mouse or a tablet?
Your colors are looking lit, could I steal them? (Probably won't ever use them though because I use my own palette for sth right now that I prolly won't ever finish)
Yo same
nice man I do pixel art on my channel too
Nose por que estos canales con un contenido de calidad no tienen millones de subs, solo pido subtítulos al español por qué no entiendo un carajo 💔😅
I don't know why these channels with quality content do not have millions of subs, I only ask for Spanish subtitles why I don't understand a damn thing 💔😅
Can you do a video on types of pixel art styles please!!!😁
Nice drawing
Hey adam! how you update live the sprite when you are working in unity?
How do I get your palette?
Can you share with us your palette?
Is there any app on android I can do pixel art?
You are using a realy nice palette. Can I download it somewhere?
Not just yet. But I'm considering releasing it soon
@@AdamCYounis That would be nice.
@@AdamCYounis was searching through the comments to see if someone had asked before I asked. I would love if you decided to release the palette
can i buy this background
Nice video! you're very didactic
Give me a tip, I'm creating tiles sets for a college game project, but which would be easier to assemble the entire stage scenario and export to Unity or create tiles sets and create the scenario within Unity?
Could someone please tell me where this wonderful music comes from?
And of course, wonderful pixel art, as always!! Thanks a lot for sharing it with us!
I use a service called "Pretzel" to play music that's licensed for streaming. They have an app like spotify that's free to use. This playlist is from their "Chiptune" channel :)
@@AdamCYounis Thanks a lot!!!🔥
Great video 👍
can I ask what software you used in game development?
for a while there i thought the backing music was sonic
I would love if you made a video on how you made your avatar for the channel.
I saw it and was like eek I wanna make one, (with my own flavor of course) but I'm having trouble because it looks blurry on youtube. :C
if that's your only problem then just upscale it like when you post pixel art like anywhere xd. If you use aseprite you can just change the size to 1000% in the export section, if you use sth different just make a bigger canvas and drag it to a big size
could you tell me at what resolution do you draw? I mean, backgrounds for 2D games...
Canvas size??
Yo love your vids! Is there any way to animate screen shake? Btw new subscriber
Yes! Definitely, I could make a video showing this kind of thing at some point down the line. I love little animations like that.
what was the resolution?
what program do u use to make your art?
Do you use tablet or mouse?
I was opening some random videos when they started to auto play, me pausing them behind, and a conversation when like:
*opens a video, autoplays*
"Imagínate estar solo en el espacio-" *pause* (Imagine being alone in the space)
*opens next video, autoplays too*
"That's quite good-" *pause*
Me: *recalculating* ... xD
I love your artwork, my friend, hopefully we always share knowledge in a work of art.
Greetings hopefully we become friends who always share knowledge and support.
what is the name of the app? 👀
Aseprite :)
who else saw the side of a mans head on the right?
