I like making scrapghans. I just start and decide as I go as to what stitches and colors I want. As I'm growing in my crochet knowledge, it makes it even more fun. Thanks for sharing the non rules.
I thought of trying that - winging the next stitch pattern but I’m too scared of not having the right stitch count at the end of a row. I do wing the colors though. So fun these scrap blankets are! Ty for watching & commenting! Xoxo
Hi Maribel! How are you?! How is your weekend going? Thank you so much! That’s another good thing about scrap-ghans - the yarn colors do all the work for us! 🥰 That bunny was so fun to make and it’s a free pattern. I talked about it in the prior video and the link is there, if interested. 😉 Ty for watching and commenting! 💕 xoxo
Great tips Olivia! I love the moto of this video - you can do whatever you want!!! Creativity comes out of spontaneity, thinking outside the box and not being afraid. It's just yarn and if you don't like the result, you can frog it. Ophelia Talks has wonderful blanket patterns that are great for using scraps (or not).
Hi Sigal! Thank you so much! Exactly! There are no rules! It can be so scary to “wing it” but after you’re done, it is so worth it. Ty for watching and commenting! 🙏🏽💕 xoxo
I love a good scrap blanket or stash busting one , at the moment I making a granny rectangle odd ball blanket with Dk yarn . Have a good week , your blanket looks fun
I just found you from the scrapghan video and subscribed. One of my cutest blankets ever was a Granny square one made from random yarn my friend bought me. She doesn't crochet and didn't understand that one ball doesn't make much so she bought me a bunch that didn't go together. I realize that's what made the blanket cool, I am usually too matchy-matchy.
Hi poodlegirl55! So sorry for the late reply! So glad you found me! I used to be too catchy matchy too!! (And honestly still can be, hehe). But I do love me some scrap-ghans! This one is staring at me from its tote because I keep getting sidetracked with color knitting projects! LOL. Thank you so much for visiting and commenting! XOXO
I did 2 Scrap Star Blankets over a year ago, I so love them specifically for the color changes. I have been considering doing a scrap chevron blanket though.
Oooh That’s going to come out so cute! I saw some on Pinterest that pulled at my hippie heart strings. They made me think twice about novelty yarns! xoxo
Hi Olivia! This was a wonderful post for me to see. I have been yearning to make a blanket to work with my stash. I almost joined in on Tiffany Hansen’s temperature blanket because it’s a sampler, which I really want to make! But I would prefer the freedom of doing a scrapghan. I have a lot of yarn to work through. I would really appreciate if you can do a guide to Ravelry. I only go there to look up patterns and read notes on patterns. I realize there’s a lot there that I don’t know! I just went and favorited your bundle. Thanks again for your wonderful video. Btw a make along for a sampler style scrapghan would be wonderful. I’ll be looking at your other content ASAP ✌️💖
Hi Marina! Yes, yes, I hope you make a scrap-ghan! I thought about joining that sampler make along too but also enjoy the freedom to do what I like, LOL! I would be happy to do a video on Ravelry! It's now been added to my list of to do videos. Thank you for the suggestion! xoxo 🥰
I would die for some of that wool ease I'm collecting it for a project I don't know what it will be I just know I want it to be all wool ease thick and quick. I can't get my hands on as many different ones you have I only have 4 different ones in multiple skeins so far... I'm Jealous😂 lol 😂😂. I love your non rules.
Hi CraftyKat! You will get there I’m sure - just you wait, especially now that you started a YT channel. The yarn begins to multiply. 😂 I’ve kind of been doing the same as you - collecting the super bulky skeins over the years - some of it is single skeins I just loved and had to buy, others were gifts and others are left over skeins from old projects. I’m so excited to see how this scrap-ghan turns out! Ty for watching and commenting! 🙏🏽💕 xoxo
Oooops, guess I should have watched the entire video before messaging you on Ravelry. Thank you for not judging. lol Love your colors. How would you classify that family? I’m getting a feeling of “Earthy Jewel Tones”. I would love to learn more about Ravelry. I’ve wondered what the yarny peeps would do should FB disappear. Not to get into it, but I like Ravelry as long as it remains politically neutral. I’m running out of places to go to escape everyday stresses. 🤣
Haha! No worries at all! I would classify all of my scrap-ghans as “whatever goes” 😂 but I like your description more. If I’m being honest I don’t like to give it a name because then I begin to feel like I have to stick to those colors. And I’d rather be truly free to choose whatever I want for the next color. I know, I’m crazy. 🤪😂 xoxo PS: A ravelry video is in the planning! I, too, value neutral places. 💕

Hi Olivia ❤❤❤
Hi Cheryl! 💕
I’ve been working a scrap busting cal and worked some novelty yarns into it
