I’m actually probably more uncomfortable in the boys locker room since I’m gay. Cause I don’t want to be a pervert and I also can’t just have a casual chat with my naked friend cause... attraction is a thing.
I also hate it when girls will say they’re going to stop dating men and start dating women even though their straight because it’d “be easier”. Like do they not understand the type of difficulties people face all the time from having to come out and just live their life? It’s so invalidating.
I hate when I tell a person who identifies as straight tell me “we’re all a little bi” when I tell them I’m bi. It feels really invalidating as well :-(
I won’t say that straight women don’t have it hard at all but at least they don’t have to worry about receiving backlash from others while in public, having their relationships fetishized, or being afraid of being potentially rejected by your friends or family because of who you love.

you know maybe they just had really awful experiences with guys and have very good experiences being freinds with girls, and hoping that a relationship with a girl would be easier for them because they feel more connected to girls? like, maybe they can't imagine a girl could hurt them the way a guy has. i understand your view, but maybe try to see it from their perspective and don't hate
I never realized how heteronormative my family was until I shaved my head. It's great at helping you weed out those people in your life. I don't care what they think because I've never felt so confident and beautiful.

I used to have very short hair between the ages of 11-13 and the amount of negative comments I used to get ruined my self esteem completely and made me feel very confused about who I was. Luckily I figured out my sexuality by myself but those times were horrible. So, thank you for covering that topic! Love you guys and your videos!
I totally understand. I would often just get short haircuts as a kid because long hair was so tedious and the amount of rude comments and bullying I’d get was ridiculous, even from my dad and family (not my mom though she’s amazing). Now that I’m an adult I’m so nervous about getting a short haircut even though I want to because I’m so insecure about it now. I think as a kid a lot of it had to do with the gender roles and stuff we enforce on kids, and to see a girl who wore glitter leggings and pink skirts while also having a pixie cut was really shocking and incomprehensible to others. Especially since the small town I grew up in is well. Like just now starting to change for the better.

I have a masculine haircut and mostly use vague oversized clothes ,men would approach me on the streets and call me a fag, to be a man, that I will burn for liking it in the ass (I was a young girl) like it was hell, even old woman told my that my family hated me for my decision, I wasn't even gay or queer, I just cut my hair ,luckily now I am at a better place

I have a funny story
When I was in high school my friend groups was the Gays though I didn't really realize it at the time and this guy in my art class asked if I like 'tacos' and I thought he was talking about like the food and so I said sometimes bc I didn't want to seem uncool for not liking a very popular food. It took me years to realize what he was actually asking and I laugh about it now

Because of some of the reasons you discussed in this video I always concened and have found it challenging emotionally when I finally came out again after trying to do what society expected of me church Christian lifestyle as they say. I have been exposed to the pretty heavy conditional acceptance and love but the last 5 years I defend am learning. I really enjoy the psychology videos and content you both share. Two talented and intelligent human beings. Never been one to watch a couple video until I accidentally came across yours and I am so grateful. I will add though now other couples have popped up I watched 3 different ones and honestly I say with as much kindness as possible noone is close to as authentic or informative as what I see and believe you both as a team are trying to achive by being valuable teachers basicly free content for so many matters good bad hapoy sad and real life. If anyone does read this amazing...I do have a question why is it difficult to find a partner whom is old school values in the lesbian community. % of infidelity and unabld to stay long term life partners frightens me.

Thank you for the video. Definitely made me laugh (especially with the Bonus). Interestingly (and I am the first to admit my view is from my personal experiences) each of the examples I would say is a direct result of the approach of a number of main stream church doctrines. They so emphasize the 'do's and don't' of their particular theology to push out individuality from such a young age that the people end up being essentially drones with their questions, understandings and comprehensions. I know it is bad of me but when I hear those questions (and others) my first thought is (as I am patting them on the head) "It's ok sweety. You'll learn.". (gee...after reading my comment I am thinking that I have feelings on this subject) :)

Hi girls have problem and I need help form u I like girls and have my friend but am so scared to tell her dat I love her what can do
(This includes a question for advice which hopefully is okay). I hate it when guys fetishize my attraction to women, especially when they do that then use hateful slurs towards gay men. My best friends roommate is fun to hangout with and we’re slowly becoming friends, but recently I’ve noticed he says homophobic stuff and it just makes me really uncomfortable (mostly when he’s drunk so I can be somewhat forgiving unless it’s about other members of the LGBTQ+). Last night while playing video games with me, him and my bestie Becky he commented on her character saying “no offense but she looks like a d*ke (the lesbian slur), and I really like it”. Then he proceeded to call another person in the game a f**got because of something about their car idk. I don’t think he knows I’m gay since I don’t feel like I need to bring it up unless it comes up in conversation. He is normally really nice and respectful, and was drunk this night but it still got under my skin. My social circle is small so I’ve never really had to ask these things of people before (not to say people haven’t heckled me before). Sorry if this is a bad place to ask this, I just don’t have anyone else I can ask who may understand why it would offend me.
When we are drunk, the truth come out. What we actually thinks.. isn't it. I had never tried drinking yet bt i have listened that fact.. it's true right. So now you gonna know what they actually think about gay people.
Im also an introvert.. I don't used to talk to everyone. Even i like being calm and just thinking.. don't like speaking much. So i too don't have friends to share my thoughts. But you know, it seems easy to express our views on place like here.. because we know.. there are the people who can understand. ..
If you want to continue the friendship, but don't want to out yourself before you are sure of his real opinion of lgbt people, you can just correct him by stating your opinion. For example you could say that there is nothing wrong with men being gay. This way you won't be automatically outed. Also please don't think that he has to be homophobic for saying such a thing. Maybe he just hasn't thought about how that would come across or what that actually means to people. Sometimes we say things we really don't mean.
In any case if you can't reason with him and he really is homophobic, it probably would not be healthy for you to continue the relationship. But don't worry about missing out on a friend, there are so many people in the world, you will find other to have fun with :-)

I came out as bi to my family when i was in the middle of high school and my step mum was like well you haven't had sex yet so you really don't know. I knew at that point, i knew i was attracted guys but i knew definitely wasn't str8 and i noticed i throught girls were attractive so yeah

It’s not something that you decide, you don’t wake up one morning and say to yourself I know today I will be lesbian. Being Lesbian, or whatever gender your attracted to isn’t a choice. I don’t say to heterosexual people when did you decide to be heterosexual.
