I had this replaced and the guy put it in and my car just turning over was on full throttle. He took it back off adjusted and now my AT oil temp light is flashing and it's stalling out. I'm trying to adjust it but I dont have any code reader etc. I am trying to adjust it to a perfect throttle.
Hey bro I rebuilt my 15 kx450f and I never had a fuel injected bike an moved my tps so I got the tool you got and when I tried to set it it wouldn’t go past .45 I checked full throttle it’s at 4.6 how do I get .58 to .61 thanks
I am wanting to know how to reset the throttle position sensor I have put a new one on but when it’s hooked up the transmission does not shift right when it’s unhooked the transmission shifts properly but I have problems with it accelerating and idling
Sounds like it's not set right. You'll have to find the stock setting for it and have a tool to set it. It's very sensitive to movement. You can't do it by eye, the slightest movement when mounting the TPS to the throttle body will affect how it runs.
I ran my YZ250X with the TPS unplugged by accident the other day. Ran it pretty easy for about 5-10 minutes before I realized I forgot to plug it back up. The TPS was not removed just the two plugs were unplugged. Should I be concerned about any damage done? What could be damaged if it was? Enjoy your videos!
@@enisouertani9898 Make sure you don't have any intake leaks. If you set the TPS to the correct voltage it should run fine, a lean condition could be from a clogged injector, intake leak or a TPS set on the lean side.
First time viewer. I'm having issues with a 2007 Honda Foreman ES 4x4. I've had to replace a lot of parts to include the whole throttle body. On this Honda, there is a meter assembly that flashed a code 13 which states it's the TPS sensor. I can't even shift this bike since it's an automatic. Still also trying to figure out if my fan sensor is bad in the engine. I can provide direct power and it spins just fine. I may just add a three way switch to turn it on manually. Will this tool work for this Honda??
Yes it should work with that model. It will be listed on the website. But if you have a tps light, a fan now working, and a no shift, you probably have something else going on. A common problem with those when they don't shift is the shift shaft position sensor mounted to the front of the engine. I'm a huge Honda fan but not a fan of their ES system.
@@TepcoCycleRepair Are you referring to the angle sensor? With this bike I have tried to go in a very logical order on replacement of parts. We both know they are not cheap to replace. I think once that tool gets here and and I can get the TPS to function properly. This has really been messing with my head trying to help someone out. I'm a small engine guy, not a ATV guy. I don't claim anything when it comes to this stuff especially on this model with all the bells and whistles. Thanks for your reply. Hopefully Ill have better news in a few days.

Awesome videos I have a 2018 yz450f electric start just got rebuilt bike runs really good but the idle is beyond high even when I try turning it down or up it doesn’t change the idle does it sound like tps adjustment
I have a 2011 Arctic Cat Prowler that won’t start! I replaced the fuel pump, injector fuel line, spark plug and also drained the fuel. Could this be my problem?
Unlikely, have you checked for spark? Sounds like it's possible a stator or spark related. Also if it sat for a long time you may have water in the system. Just make sure you got everything out of the tank before you put new fuel in.
You'll get all different readings depending on the position. What you want to look for is dead spots where it has no reading or a reading way out of range.
Nice car, but I'm not sure on that one. Haven't messed with many BMW's to give you a well informed answer. Now I will say the way a TPS works, it's certainly possible. I would definitely do some testing on it first.
@@TepcoCycleRepair thanks alot im based in south africa cape town the moment i saw your msg i dug in clipped the tps open and i had a overload of oil in the tps itself i didnt get to remove th tps but all i did was take the oil out and wiped it out snapped back in, still its high but i think i need to drive it for a while and then have a look at it maybe spray some cleaner in it and clean it proper
James McC2.4hum runs good in 1st 2nd and 3rd. It was like this when I got it. The guy said it was the valves and I took his word for it. Big mistake on my part.
Yes, it could if it's off but I would check valves and all maintenance items before this. Low compression could cause a no idle situation. The TPS won't go out on its own and shouldn't need to be adjusted to fix things, just help with performance.
@ Tepco Cycle Repair ; I am currently working on a Honda RC 51 "no start condition". My question is will this tool work on MV Agusta bikes as well as for Nissan and Lexus vehicles ?
Dude it's not because Honda dont want you messing with it it's because they have brain dead engineer's that have never had to pull their vehicle's apart because if these twats were made to dismantle every vehicle they ever designed they'd be making them easier to work on the second they sat back in front of their computers. People wonder why mechanic's charge so well you need to ph head office of that particular dealer and ask them why is it that my complete dashboard has to be removed to replace my heater core or why the whole inlet manifold has to come off to change a crook fuel injector it's a joke
Tepco Cycle Repair timing is good and the timing chain doesn’t seem stretched. I don’t have anything to adjust tps and how could it be the auto decompressor?
Look at your timing marks, make sure they are dead on. I'm suprised you did a head without replacing it. If it was in there with the previous cam I guarantee it's stretched, it's kind of a rule of thumb when you do a top end you replace the timing chain. If the auto decompression is stuck open it will not disengage keeping compression very low. Just pull the valve cover off and make sure it moves freely with your finger. I just fixed a RMZ that wouldn't start, they just did the top end, said timing was good but they used the old chain. I insisted they put a new one in and bam done fired right up. When it's at TDC the lines on the cam need to be perfectly level with the head. Hope this helps you out.
Like for the explanation on how the sensor works! 👍
Nvm I'm just stupid figured it out video help a lot though thanks

Good morning my friend, I need a TPS butterfly sensor for Triumph Thruxton R 1200 2018. I wonder if you can get it for me, to send here in Brazil.

No damage, you're fine. It just controls timing. Thanks for watching!
Might be a dumb question but is the throttle position sensor separate from pedal position sensor
On a MC it's just the TPS. Vehicles have different set ups.
Can you do a video on 2008 Polaris ranger xp tps reset?
If I get one in to work on, I will.
Hello boss
I've made the adjustment and the bike works fine, but my spark plug is very white. What should I do to make it richer? Thanks a lot
What kind of bike is it?

No, check your cable routing and make sure your throttle plate is closing all the way.
What provides power for throttle sensor
There is a 5v battery in the unit. Unless you mean on the bike then it's the battery or stator.

What number should I see when adjusting a 2006 crf450r tps sensor?
What is a throttle position is it carburator?
Fuel Injected, it tells the ECU how much fuel to spray at different throttle positions.

Would this cause a high idle if it isn’t adjusted ?
It could if it's adjusted causing a lean condition.

It controls different things. Only Ignition in the carb. Check out this link on how to for the carb.

I don't think so if it's good in all the other gears. Check your valves.
