I love you Mel xx This happened to me 3 years before your original book and to this day your book has pride of my place on my bookshelf. It helped me to know, that if it could happen to someone as powerful as you, it wasn’t my fault. xx I’m so happy that you and your family are doing so well. Thank you so much for everything you do xx
You’re doing gods work and saving so many young women with this knowledge. Thank you so much for being so open mel b and thank you for having her on your podcast liv!
Oh babe what a brilliant episode. LOVED it and Mel B in all of her leopard powerful get up. Thanks for the insight and info re abusive signs. I got out 7 years ago and never been happier. Freedom at last and work was my outlet too. Love how Mel is changing the world and stance on this for it to be a better and safer place for women. It can happen to anyone. You have to seek help and GET OUT ladies xxx I have listened to her book and it is INCREDIBLE (a difficult read as I had to re-live alot but insightful as she came out the other side).
All this resonates with me. After two really bad 5 yr relationships I stayed away from men for 16 yrs! I have so many PTSD symptoms and have tried a lot of different therapy including EMDR. It feels like a lifelong enemy stuck to me now. I dug myself out of a really dark abyss and started to get myself together as I was becoming lonely and upset with my life. Tried meeting men again but they’ve been love bombing and then start to show their true colours slowly and then sack me off. I have realised that these weak narcissistic men cannot handle strong women who cannot be controlled. I’m 43 now, never been married and have no kids. Not what I ever envisioned my life to be like at all. I somehow still have hope that one day the right person will come along. Hard to believe but u got to have hope.
Women’s Aid saved my life. I came out of a refuge last August and I’m slowly rebuilding my life. I too ticked every one of those on the checklist. Don’t think I’ll ever have another relationship and I’m totally fine with that. It takes time and counselling but I’m getting there and others can too. I’m always here if anyone who watches this episode and is in an abusive relationship and isn’t sure where to turn for help or advice, please leave a comment. I will listen to you and I’ll help you to find advice and support. You are not alone.
What a lovely comment. Your empathy and kindness is lovely to read 😊. I hope after some time you will maybe be open for another relationship as you clearly deserve to have someone care for you the way you care for yourself and others. ❤
Lovely comment. I worked in a Womens Aid refuge for 5 years as part of the 24hr security team. It was an eye opening experience. Fabulous organisation. Glad your safe and re-building x
Finding it odd how this video came up on my phone and it was posted 6 months ago, hopefully I get lucky and others I know do as well - I feel sad that it has got to this point but I know it’s making me stronger and I’m learning very valuable lessons, once it’s over - I’ll never take anything for granted again
Mell B needs to do more interviews her life is interesting. Plus I grew up on spice girls I loved her she was always my favourite one. I admire her natural self-confidence
Mel B is so brave to fight for her life and come out to the public as a survivor. I was a victim of domestic abuse and she knows exactly how horrible ots like feeling trapped and afraid to get out. Mel B you area a lovely strong human being.
Completely agree with what you said about abuse and trauma altering your brain and body. I have a personality disorder, eating disorder, OCD and severe social anxiety due to a history of varying types of abuse. Those that think abuse ends once the abuser has long gone really need to educate themselves!! The brain needs nurturng like our bodies need nutrients to develop and grow without that it wilts, distorts and changes permentaly without help and suppourt.
I was born into domestic abuse and it still effects me to this day. Do try and get your children out of this environment!. People are talking about the woman yet the children come out damage and their damage is normally lasting!.
Something seriously needs to be done, what upset me more that 14 year ago I was asulted by him and he severed my arm archery,😮 was in hospital for 4 weeks, had vain reconstruction, women's aid in south Wales said at that time I was 1 of the worst domestic violence they had seen at that point, sure worst has happened since then unfortunately, but Mel you are so right things need to change
This podcast is so interesting! crazy to think that of all people scary spice had such a difficult time behind closed doors :( more and more women are coming forward now! i can count on 2 hands if not more just how many women that have gone thro these similar experiences that i know of personally. men's bad behavior is no longer in dark or a taboo subject and we need to be loud about it to everyone around and talk about the signs to each other. otherwise we will continue to live in silence and more women will suffer and the next generation of girls will go thro these things too!! we have the internet now we have girl groups now we have ways of sourcing this information now more than ever before.
My Dad was abused by mother for years until he died. He was of a generation that said you never hit a woman, so he never laid a hand on her or even tried to protect himself. So it happens to men too.
Its way deeper than just educating people. Its to do with our own self our childhood our traumas low self esteem n low self love. Its more about healing ourselves before we enter a relationship as if uve not healed from something even sub consciously healing then u will attract the same energy as urself. Being in a physically violent relationship is about 2 people who need help. Not just 1. Being physically hurt is a form of self harm and as fuked up as this sounds many woman are addicted to toxic violent men as its a place where they feel safe as their childhood was same and therefore thats y they stay in the relationship. It all comes down to ourselves
I don't know who Olivia Attwood is - first time seeing this interview but couldn't help thinking (on a lighter note than this serious and important interview) ... if Janet Street Porter had a daughter... Are they related? Anyone know plz? 🙂 Excellent interview btw ... so very much needed; wish all her (Mel's) interviewers and interviews were this deep and meaningful. God bless them both.
Was arrested because my nassasist partner of 30 years called police saying I slapped him and went for him with a knife, totally untrue!! Had 2 female officers from cathays police come and arrested me🙄 for something I truly didn't do!!! I was held in custody for 22hours😢 my soliciter was waiting 2 hours to do his job, but I was keeped to wait longer then needed to be, obviously that made me a lot angry, but keeped my fat head😅, but what concerned me most they gave him power, 😮 and that's what nassasist LOVE
This woman is such a hypocrite. She claims she’s a victim, a voice for victims and girl power, but doesn’t miss a chance to publicly bully her bandmate Geri, diminishing her everytime.
Mel is so authentic and genuine, she deserves such happiness ❤

Literally one of the best interviews with Mel I’ve seen. Great work Olivia

My favourite episode to date. A mix of serious and banter.

U need to heal first. Or dive deep into ur subconscious and heal the wounded baby or child u were. Work on urself then u will meet the same energy.

Mel B is a national treasure! Protect her at all costs! ❤❤

I was born into domestic abuse and it still effects me to this day. Do try and get your children out of this environment!. People are talking about the woman yet the children come out damage and their damage is normally lasting!.
Doesn’t matter if you haven’t spoken to your friends in weeks because of abuse if they are your real friends they will be there for you no matter what
Love these podcasts Liv! Touching on some really important matters. Can’t wait to see more ❤
Mel B is a legend. So truthful and I’m so sorry she had to suffer so badly at the hands of an abuser.
I support Mel and what she's doing so much. She turned out to be the best member of the Spice Girls - a genuinely lovely human being.
Finally a talk show that let her talk! Thank you!
My favourite so far, Mel amazing that you spoke out this is going to help others, Liv your smashing the interviews ❤❤

i love seeing you cook in your videos; your food always looks so good. i also get good ideas for dinner. Also, a movie channel is a great idea.

She is legendary!
we need to improve mens mental health services to save women and kids from going through it.
Well done Mel for being such a bright light shining onto this issue. Thank god you got out and bet he wishes you'd shut up 😂 all the best xxx

I love Mel b her Emma and Mel c are the real ones
Mel B is a really good Mother to her kids but not really good at picking men to be with.

Wow that's terrible
please have sofia vegara on would absolutely love that!!
Please have Amber Davies on! Or Montana Brown!
loveeeeee❤
this happened to wendy williams too. she didn't recover.
I cane from a very abusive relationship..why did mel hand her child back to somebody like him was it the courts that made that decision
❤❤❤❤❤
How could Mel be trapped when she had money. Did she let him have access to her finances?
Stop victim blaming. Did you listen to anything she said?
He took her money
I love Mel B but when it comes to her talking about ANY future Spice Girls plans, I just don't take word she says seriously as she lies so much 😂
She's manifesting
This woman is such a hypocrite. She claims she’s a victim, a voice for victims and girl power, but doesn’t miss a chance to publicly bully her bandmate Geri, diminishing her everytime.
