Good demo and (as far as I can tell), good, crisp technique. That's also close to the speed I practice the form in my kitchen, when it should actually be much slower (but that makes less interesting video viewing). Look forward to seeing more vids, thank you for the upload.
To be able to revert to Rough Power to show beginners whilst possessing Shock Power is truly a sign of a REAL SiFu. The last of GM Ip Shuis inhouse students.
Compare with Sanchin kata from Uechi-ryu Karate - ua-cam.com/video/B7YDkZrJ-V0/v-deo.html Uechi Ryu Karate emphasizes elements of Southern Crane, Southern Tiger, and Southern Dragon kung fu styles It is said that Uechi Ryu descends from Nan Pa Toro Ken (South Group Mantis Fist). If this is true or not, I can not say. However when examining Southern Mantis and Uechi Ryu forms, it does make one wonder, if not very curious. Since all Okinawan Karate tends to be a fusion of Chinese Kung Fu with the indigenous arts of Tuite and Tegumi. The Kanji for Karate in Okinawa, before the Japanese conquered the island, was translated as 'China/Chinese Hand' not 'Empty Hand' though still pronounced the same, 'Kara'. It was changed for political reasons as the Chinese and Japanese were not exactly on the best of terms at the turn of the 20th century.
Umm yeah as the title states , Beginner stage. as the student progresses it will become more internal and hidden. Proper Chows Family lineage. respect.
