Even though i get lost on the technical aspects of cinematography (im trying to read books on this matter) i still enjoy these videos so much. Theyre so insightful to whoever whishes to learn about filmmaking
I don't think Wally Pfister is that great of a cinematographer. I'm not saying he's bad, just that his filmography is pretty average outside of his work with Christopher Nolan. Even then, the cinematography style in Nolan's films have remained consistent after he switched to Hoyte Van Hoytema as his go to DP. This leads me to think Nolan had more of an impact on the cinematography of his films than Pfister.
I'm currently attending the same institute as Ryan did, so seeing you even mentioning it is kinda surreal! Thank you so much for making these videos; they're inspiring and really helpful!
Very informative video. I discovered Robbie with The Favourite. His photography cleverly enhanced the comedy (or tragedy) in every scene, it was a very intense experienced thanks to him. Thank you for sharing some of his technique and philosophy.
I love all of your videos. You put in so much research and work into making them enjoyable, both visually and intellectually. I would love to see video on DP Rachel Morrison
I would love if you did a video on the style of Cinematographer: Bill Pope. Particularly covering his frequent collaborations between Edgar Wright and Sam Raimi.
Thank you for such an amazing work as always! Could you please consider one of the most underrated DP Harris Savides for one of your next Cinematography style episodes?
I'd love to see either Wally Pfister, John Seale, Janusz Kaminski, or Dariusz Wolski. Please can you do a video about these cinematographers, it would mean the world to someone who intends to be a director of photography in the future.

If you watch Andrea Arnold's Oscar winning short and all her 3 full length features(all with Robbie behind the camera) and then watch 'the favourite' you'll probably have a hard time to find him standing apart.
Darius Khondji! Feels like there’s a whole ep. worth about Seven!

His cinematography in Wuthering Heights is sublime, it's more 3D than actual 3D. It's a shame it isn't mentioned in this video...
