Thanks, Taylor. You may want to try SuperKlean's DuraFlow Dairy Nozzle for mastitis prevention. It also lasts longer than other dairy nozzles and is making cows healthier and happier from better and faster udder sanitation. Dairy farmers are loving it too.

I have carried a plug kit for years in my vehicles and a small compressor. Many times it’s just a puncture in your treads. Can’t plug a sidewall but I don’t have to pull a tire to plug it.

Good Morning Taylor and Brent ☀️ Excellent video as always Taylor and good luck with the cow that has the stepped on quarter...those are always tricky and never fun...very sensitive to the cow obviously painful and then hard to get milked out with the injury/soreness and then open to getting the mastitis causing bugs in them too...we have the same issue typically with mastitis following and we use Spectramast and the original udder balm for both the udder swelling and keeping the teat healing that we get from our vet clinic for treatment. Good luck with the tire repair on your truck as well. I hope both you and Brent are feeling better from your previous video and have a great day :) I want to say thank you as well for your responding to your commentors...I think I speak for most in saying it def makes it a more personable experience to get your replies and helps to keep us more involved/motivated to post more comments on your videos as well. Keep farming and keep on with the keepin on

Hi! Yes they can be very tricky to treat for sure. We used Spectramast for years but it got hard to find around here but it worked great! So glad you enjoy watching and thank you for the well wishes. Hope you have a wonderful rest of your weekend!!😀

@@tayfarms We have had the same issue with things getting harder and harder to find...one mastitis treatment that worked the best for us which was called Pursue is no longer available cuz they stopped making it so Spectramast was the next option for us...we have had mixed results with it but as I've learned with treating mastitis from farm to farm what works on one farm doesnt work the same on another. The Today mastitis treatment we have had issues with the milk withholding time going way over the time it calls for on the box...by way over I mean only using the two tubes it called for which if I remember correctly it was 96 hour withhold and we had cows consistently taking 2 weeks before the treatment would be cleared out...our vet stopped recommending Today to her farms due to the withholding time as well. Have a great rest of your weekend as well. Almost time for milking our ladies again soon...they are very vocal about letting us know when it's getting close to time lol

Hope your using a antibiotic tester to test milk before putting the cows milk back in the tank using today medicine we use a delvo tester to test all treated cows and fresh cows that were dry treated when they went dry and we use spectramast dc and lc quit using today years ago had a cow we treated 1 time and after with holding her it took 20 milkings to get her clear togo back in tank

    • @coreykimbel4871
      @coreykimbel4871 Рік тому

@@billbrooke2776 We use a Delvo test kit as well that is purchased from our milk hauler...we had one cow a couple yrs ago that we treated using Today and followed the label of 2 treatments that took us two weeks before she finally gave us a good sample and was ready to go back into the tank. Our vet doesn't even recommend using Today do to the withholding period now and we havent had good luck with it here even curing the mastitis. We have switched to using Spectramast lc for mastitis and Quartermaster with the teat sealant called shutout for dry off and that seems to be working pretty well for us right now

Maintaining the health of your cows and all of the smaller tasks that need to be done on a daily basis. And the fun you can have too. As they say a farmer’s work is never done. Thank you for sharing another great video. I do hope that you can have your own farm some day.😊

Happy Sunday Taylor. I also had an issue when changing out my tires on my Ford. The shop that did the work said I just needed different kind of lug nuts something about them swelling I think....they also had to use a torch to get tires off. Anyway was a cheap fix ($20.00 for all 4 wheels) that way if caught on the side of the road with flat will be able to get tire off myself. 🙂
Great to see Bobby Joe liking the Hydroponic feed. Hope the cost to produce won't be higher than the benefits.
Hope you have a safe and fun week, Deb

Good day. That is called Farmers Ingenuity. Great way to warm gloves up. I love to see you stripping the cows before milking. I kknow it always made me feel closer to the cows whenever I did that. We called it hard quarters instead of Mastitis I love your videos. They remind me of my youth growing up on my Uncle's farm. Great time of my life. I tell my grandkids about that time. I keep saying I am going to write my life down so my kids and grandids will know my life before them. God Bless you and your family and also Brent.

Cool video Tay. The bale wrap part was interesting. Not sure which way your baler goes but blades cutting material isn't always "the sharper the better." For example, cheese doesn't always cut easier with a sharp knife. Your baler might just need an adjustment.

I used the 4 x 5 net wrap Edge to Edge® technology by Tama, which enables the net to maintain its width when feeding onto the bale, so covering the entire width of the bale. It works pretty good in my baler which is a Case IH RS451.

    Hiya Tay,
Thank you for a great video.
The cold is sounding a bit better, if not entirely gone. You are an extraordinary person, coffee was waiting, and you're still sharing with us? We would have waited for something that important, you know. That wrap does look like it could be the problem, and the timing is right for when the grief started. Loved the glove-warming trick, one I may use too.
I loved the cow looking underneath her neighbour at you and the camera, nossy or what? Near the start of the video, talk about a pile of steaming cow-sh1t. My mum-in-laws spelling. So apart from one girl, they are all in tip-top condition? That says a lot about you two and your care for the herd. I hope she's better soon, but with nurse Tay on the job, she will be.
Thank you for sharing with us. I do love seeing your life on the farm. I miss not being able to work anymore; watching you two is a help.
    Stay safe, Steve...

Thank you so much for your kind words. I could watch people working all day long, as long as I was only watching! What music do you listen to? Please don't say it's that country stuff? I used to have my own lighting rig and toured with Tom T Hall and Jeannie C Rilley when they were over here. Why do they have to have a middle initial to be a country star? Strange... But true.
I will admit you have a charming smile; it's always nice to see it.
Please continue with introducing the girls, especially their little quirks; they always make me smile.
Some of the other farming channels I watch are very male-orientated; it's wonderful that you do what is needed regardless. Milk the whole herd, mow the hay and drive the hay into the farm. No sexism with you two; if it needs doing, you do it, oh and fix the mower. I loved watching you brace your leg to get the leverage you needed. You go,
      girl.
Just stay safe, and drink more coffee, Steve...

Taylor, question for you. Does the newer Net wrap have a waxy film on it ? And the old style doesn't ? Reason I ask, is I use to buy rolled hay for my horses and I noticed that some of the net wrap had a waxy feeling to it and some did not. If the new does have a waxy feeling to it, Maybe the wax is building up on the baler knife and won't let the knife cut the wrap. Just a thought. Enjoyed your video, Thanks for sharing.

Actual milking takes a little over an hour. No we buy our cows from individuals or other farms as well. We don’t run Jersey bulls because they are rather dangerous to be around and also we don’t raise many of our own replacements so it is better for us to run a beef bull instead.
