X1 Zero is the Zero Sigma fought, so it's the Zero that first exited the capsule... By those standards, it IS the original Zero, but it clearly wasn't the Zero which Wily envisioned, since both Power Fighters 2 and MMX2 confirm that Wily's blueprints differ from X1 Zero's design.

The statements by original devs may have some weight, but only canon weight, if those statements were made while they were still under Capcom as either employeés or contracted personel. I have to wonder if the replica body Zero might explain the whole upgraded X Buster. Though I guess that opens a whole new can of worms of why Cain has Light's buster blueprints and that X never got that upgrade to begin with.........eh
Hm. XDive names the X1 Buster as the "Military Buster". Which maybe Cain made research on X's normal buster and upgraded it for other Reploids? The First Armor's buster happens to be similar.
Afaik. It was Dr. Cain who originally discovered Dr. Light's lab, alongside with X's sealed capsule. He might've left behind records or even blueprints, that Cain then reverse-engineered. That, or Wily at some point stole the designs for X-Buster, built it for Zero, so now his and X's parts are interchangeable or smth. I dunno.
Keep in mind that X always discards his armors at the end of each game, because he doesn't want to be too powerful and get in over his head, and also to preserve his identity as a peacekeeper, as a fully armored body is more the mark of a warmonger. I would explain this by saying that Dr. Cain found some blueprints for the buster, offered it to X and Zero, and while Zero accepted without hesitation, X didn't want something he believed himself to not need, so he rejected it.
@StressmanFIN It's about canon that Wily copied Light's work in making X to build Zero. X's design overall is similar to Zero's hence being able to incorporate his weaponry. Zero has a suffering circuit. And X Dive's backstory for X-Kai says that Wily used notes for X in making him.
This mind blow. The pieces of the puzzle are making senses because when the X-hunters stole Zero originally body unlike Dr. Cain knowing how to fix it Serges would know how to repair zero body because the rumor is that Dr. Wily mind Serges body so he would know how to fix it.
NGL it took me a little bit to realize Zero had a different design in X1 compared to the other games. The plotline of X1 Zero being a copy body should've been used more within the X series, maybe Serges uses parts of it to create an army of Zero clones
Oh man, that sure is a big reveal about the story! To be honest, it makes more sense that way, to have the X-Hunters steal the original body of Zero, instead of the X1 replacement. I always found hard to believe how they managed to recover Zero's X1 body, considering how Sigma's fortress blew up and then sank into the ocean. xD
i always took the w on zero's helmet being a restraint dr. wily put on zero to keep him from leaving the lab.(love for x5 they used the original design fitting how it was the essence of zero's past trying to awaken him to the ultimate killing machine he was before & would definitely make a awesome figurine with his pipe. :3) that's SO amazing zero in x1 was a copy housing his integrated chip("soul" for robots/reploids,could see when x took zero's parting gift maybe took zero's chip with him.) with the x-hunters taking the housed away original body/the broken capsule was where the fake was made.(really love finding out about the concepts of capcom's series/how different the story was.:3) i did love that sheer brutality zero had in the cutscene going from using a pipe to simply SLICING sigma's arm off with just his hand showing how potentially dangerous zero was physically(alongside the visual of him scarring sigma's face while he was down for a bit before just kicking him around really gives the feeling when wily sealed him away knowing he was too dangerous probably had some regret for it before he immediately died after sealing zero/for all we do know about his fate zero possibly did that to bass succeeding in killing him before wily restrained him.)
There goes my theory that the X1 body was basically an unfinished version of Zero. As my headcanon was that Wily knew he couldn’t finish Zero so he made a copy of his consciousness as an AI to work on Zero, while he finished other tasks (aka Cell from DBZ).
You still may not be too far off. Despite him being completely disgraced. That one dude's theory about Serges being an avatar or incarnation of Wily is still plausible.
@@VelenZaiga to be fair it wasn’t even his theory. It was something the devs themselves implied even in behind the scenes docs (the way it’s written the later is definitely meant to think Wily is Serges but never actually confirmed)
@VelenZaiga Fukunishi (one dev named in this video) said he envisioned Serges as an assistant Wily made in his image with him also talking about Wily doing experiments in seeing if robot bodies can carry memories/characterization/otherwise act like or be someone else.
@edwardwebb5636 Fukunishi actually said that Serges was envisioned as a robot assistant made in Wily's image. He said in that same thread that Wily would have made Serges to think like him for an experiment.
I wonder if this whole explanation of Zero having multiple bodies in X1 is meant to resolve a possible plot hole where in the arcade game Mega Man The Power Fighters, in Bass’ ending Wily shows Bass a silhouette of a blue print for Zero but you can tell from the shoulder pads it’s Zero’s X2 design rather than the X1 design. I just assumed Wily died before he could finish Zero and his X1 design was incomplete.
From X1 i get the feeling that Zero has sort of an elite hunter grade buster and that's why X's armor has the same buster, the way it is named in X dive seems to corroborate this interpretation. I like the idea that Reploids can change busters whenever they want.
Fascinating detail for them to suddenly bring to light. Nice find regarding the original body being put into stasis, this aligns much better with the overall narrative (excluding Dr. Cain's inability to clearly communicate basic information in X2)
I’ve always heard the story that, due to the blueprints at the end of Power Fighters, the blueprint showing X2 Zero was how Wily intended to create him, but never finished it. Serges, popularly believed to be Wily, then had the knowledge to complete him properly once the X-Hunters got a hold of him.
Something I feel like pointing out about the whole copy body stuff in the Zero series: A lot of people make the mistake of thinking that Omega can't be inside of Zero's original body because it looks different. Identical to the copy body that Zero is in at the time aside from some slight differences in color. However, this is because of a misunderstanding. Omega is in fact inside of Zero's original body, he's just not wearing Zero's original armor. It's an upgraded armor that is whatever Zero upgraded to most recently before he lost that body and was put into the copy body, and the copy body was given a copy of the same upgraded armor to match. In fact, Zero's copy body in the Zero series would very likely look identical to his original body if the two were standing side by side without armor. As an additional fun fact; the copy body in the Zero series is actually the result of a retcon. At the time Zero 1 was written, the intention was for Zero waking up at the beginning of the game to be the next thing that happened to him after being sealed away in X6. It's because of this that he later makes a statement to Copy X that although he can't remember for himself, his body can remember that the original X was stronger than Copy X. Zero later returned in X7, and so Zero's unsealing in Zero 1 was reconned in Zero 2 and 3 to have been a different sealing than the one that took place in X6 to account for his presence in further X series games. It seems that him being sealed away in the copy body was likely chosen as a way of being able to distinguish between the two sealings: Once in his original body, and then once again in a copy body. This also implies that the original intention was likely for his armor upgrade to have taken place while he was unaware and in stasis before waking up in Zero 1, but that would have been before the retcon threw a wrench in the original plans and things had to change.
Crazy thing. One reason why I absolutely loved Megaman Zero's design is because it was impo the prefect blend of his Original and Updated designs while giving his unique features more prominence. I liked how his shoulders were rounded again, the 'Less is More' status of his boots and gauntlets, and how his horns were both more defined yet aerodynamic. Also, the slimmer chassis felt like a return to form over the blockier body he had in X2 and beyond. (And losing his 'Z Titties' was an improvement impo) His original design truly never got the love/apprecition it deserved. But in away we kind of got to return to it. "We end, as we began." Never fails to stand true.
I actually noticed it too. Since it's actually scarily similar to Wily's bat-style hair. A small little detail that everyone overlooked that foreshadows who built him.
Returning again, now that the dust seems to be settling... One little trivia tidbit: In Fenri Lunaedge's stage in Mega Man Zero 4, the Z-Knuckle can be used to pick up a pipe sticking out near the end of the stage.
Basically, the replicate body is mostly inconsequential. If I were to interpret the dev's comment on why Dr. Cain sealed the original body, maybe the "danger" Dr. Cain was worried about was the Virus? Can we talk about my Crackpot theory that Zero's "redesign" in X2 was actually Dr. Wi--uh Serges giving him his own armor upgrade like X gets? In this context; Black Zero would actually be his equivalent of X's Gold armor upgrade!
I'm working on a mega man x fan game and what we are doing is having both X and zeros' body's be modular so when Zero or X finds a battle chip, speed chip exedra you can change the function or change how much energy goes into each part to gain new or heighten previous ability's.
So Zero canonically knows how to do a Rider Kick. Or does he?? Y'know, considering that while Irregular Hunter X is a remake of Rockman X1, you can actually hit Sigma with the Hadou-ken here, something that can't be done in any other version due to literally every game since the PSone era having two fire buttons (with the second actually allowing access to the X Buster even while having Irregular Weapons equipped)...
here's the difference between X1 Zero(Zero 1st form) and Zero 2nd form in my opinion. the X1 version is more focusing on long range combat/using buster and he is also using martial arts technique in the X1 remake. the second form version is a sword fighter mainly using saber and saber technique but still using some martial arts skill and the Z buster.
oh i almost forgot,my context about Zero is using pipes against sigma's saber is that sigma's saber is probably the earliest types of beam saber and why Zero can counter sigma's saber is because Zero's power can make the pipe more stronger and more durable or he can just channel his power to the pipe. i call that the original Zero knuckle.
This is honestly mind blowing info that fits perfectly into the entire lore Power battles has Wily showing Bass his Zero with X2 design meaning thats his final product. X1 Zero loses to Vile yet he rocked Sigma with a metal pipe which doesnt make sense unless the Zero that fought Sigma was that much stronger in an original proto body X1 Zero is never shown having issues with the Maverick virus. X1's Zero has a crappy auto repair system because its not his original body. X2-X3 onward, the ending hints at fighting Zero because he got his body back X2's Serges is stated to have a form of Dr Wily's mind. Making him able to finish Zero's broken body. Who knows. Maybe Wily knew he wouldnt finish so he did this as back up. X5 Zero in his original body survives a world changing cataclysmic event without a scratch. He also auto repairs his entire body when hes just a torso. In Megaman Zero 4, Zero does not survive the cataclysmic event because hes in a fake body. 😢
okay,i think we might need X1 to be remaked once more with 4 playable characters with following sequel as well before we get to the long awaited Rockman X9. -playing as X is the true story -playing as VAVA is the noncanon BAD(as*) ending and the rest two playable characters are: -X1 zero with Z buster and the martial arts learning techique -and marty(you know, the mermaid repliroid girl in the manga, and we probably need a new name for her) for aquatic mission side of the story.
That explains everything right there.. Holy smokes. I never noticed all that until now.. But now i really like Zero's design from X1 and from Command Mission.. So Basically Zero was in a copy body while his original body created by Dr Wily was still in repairing then 🤔 fascinating since after his first fight with Sigma.. Now I'm more curious about what i missed behind Zero..
This new information is cool, it does explain how Zero is in a reploid body in the first game even if he was chronologicaly created before X. I like the idea his copy body was completely destroyed, since he did self-destruct willingly y hopes of destroying Vile, it makes sense if his copy body didn't survive. In a design sense point of view, Zero concept was that Zero was the preview of how much X would change into after getting his upgrades, so it makes sense his using an reploid body based of X himself and with similar abilities. But when it came the time to make him a fully playable character the changes in his design and abilities were introduced so to make them more distinct and fun to play the two different options of playing the game
Where did Sigma fight Zero? I believe that Mega Man X6 answers this question: after you beat Ground Scaravich, Alia will reveal that during his past life, he was sent to a forbidden area to get some classified data. It was where X and Zero were found (they were likely in the same general area). Since Scaravich didn't have the proper credentials to be in that area, Alia ended up 86ing him.
Great video and thanks for the new info! I'm a massive Mega Man X fan, so It's great to see information like this discovered. Also, regarding that toe attack... It's very reminiscent of an attack by another Capcom character, Akuma from the Street Fighter franchise. I could see some cross-pollination between teams, and adding some of the sauce from another bad guy in the Capcom roster makes sense to me.
I initially thought the x1 body is his prototype body which was later upgraded to the design Wily had in mind by Serges. The X1 version has a sleeker design while the complete version was much bulkier. The Zero series one went back to the smaller form maybe to look more closer to a human.
The hidden stories are the ones I'm interested in. Like the original megaman being turned into quint, what happens to proto, did Bass try to take on zero and fail (head Canon) what happened to roll and rush, did they get killed when megaman was taken in the future?
Best design so simple and savage. X1 zero has always been the fav. And for the x1 rom, they should give him a dbl buster charge shot for getting x’s buster, and instead of the hado-pipe swipe 😂
Zero saving you from Vile was so awesome! Then he sacrificed himself to save you and gave you his buster. It was so good! So heroic and will always be one of the greatest moments in gaming for me!
I always thought the pipe thing was weird lmao I never found it to make sense that a lead pipe can go toe to toe with a high focused energy friggin beam saber 🤣
Yo how long is it going to take someone to make x1 and x2 playable from zeros perspective with his own story. Like a million rom hacks and nobody's done it. Just zero playable in the same old game
I just had a thought... If Zero's X1 body was a copy of the one seen in the X4 flashback... Would that mean he had no buster at the time hence why he used the metal pipe, thus the busters were added once his original body was upgraded to be completed? Or did he have the X2 and X3 Busters and weren't properly replicated due to the complexities of Zero's body thus he got the Military Buster to replace them for the time being?
I like to think that he had the X1 Buster, it just wasn't shown in that flashback. We see the same flashback depicted again in X5 and Zero had the Buster. I think they didn't show it in X4 at all because gameplay-wise, Zero doesn't use a Buster in that game, so that could have been potentially confusing.
Even tho i do prefer his newer design, (especially his new shoulder pads! they look so cool!) I do like the idea that Dr. Cain did his best to fix his body with the available tech at the time! It gives a mysterious, and lost technology kind of feel to it! Almost like a certain other LEGENDary series! 👀
My theory was that the virus sensed that Sigma's body was more advanced and paralysed Zero so Sigma would attack the crystal and the virus transfered into Sigma, corrupting him. Your explaination does cover how Zero got more powerful afterward... Perhaps my theory just got more ground, thanks to you...
Well I'm sure that people know, I hope they know in the x1 episode apparently he actually never found his XBuster upgrade . Because the original x storyline wanted you to have zeros z buster. Because they give you an actual trophy for it for the Canon storyline and when you use zeros z buster deals more damage compared to Xs buster. Instead x Kai into finding the original buster and ends up using it better making it a hommming attack
I like the X1 design of Zero more, i, actually never really liked most X series' character designs for how over-designed and busy they look, it's hard to memorize or tell what am i looking at really, i don't draw often with references, since i believe it is best to have something simpler to draw with speed, but still not be too plain of course, and i think this does it well enough, it gets stuck in the mind more easily.
I think it the x3 opening zero change back to his X1 design to symbolize that he not the zero that willy wanted he to be and zero shows of rebellion toward his creator he will not only fight against Mavericks, but against his own destiny as well
“Those who sacrificed themselves will never return” guiding one to believe that it is correct for that particular Zero, which was a copy body, perished in the first game. I’ve always preferred the original Zero design. It was a cleaner and simplistic look, fitting the time period of Light and Wily.
Honestly, I still curious about why Zero can’t use Z Buster in Megaman X4 and Megaman X5 basically the weakest version of the Z Buster. In MMX6, Z Buster basically at it golden age like the old time. For anyone curious, Zero’s Buster actually stronger than X Buster but it does seem like the Z Buster can’t spam the shot like the X Buster
Well if that person who worked on X1 and X2 says that Zero was using a pirate copy body made by Cain, it would make sense on why X would later be compatible to use Zero's buster at the time, since technically ALL the Reploids were made by Cain using Dr. Light's schematics for X, and it would also technically make Zero an actual reploid since that copy body was replicated from X's design, and as it was created by Cain then X should have no risk at getting infected by the Zero Virus since it was not Zero's original body, but while all of this makes sense what doesn't make sense is; How the heck was Cain able to make a superior buster to X's base design, since it was mentioned time and time again by himself that X's systems were too advanced for him to understand, yet it is canon that Zero's X1 buster is superior to X's base buster and you can even argue it is better than the Light upgrade, because if you compare them in the only game where they act differently, which is in Maverick Hunter X for the PSP, Zero's buster has higher damage output in the fully charged shot and can take down bosses easier, but it still incorporates X's copy weapon system and can even charge up the powers that X acquires, which like I said would not make any sense if Cain did not understand X's systems, and if he could make a buster that strong that had the copy abilities, then why would he not equip his "best creation" who was Sigma with that kind of technology, but would then do so for the robot that actually almost destroyed his best creation, it just doesn't follow any sound logic if you really think about it, but hey I guess if one of the developers is who said that this was the canon, then even if it doesn't completely make sense, we just have to roll with it...
Fun fact: This was supposed to be megamanx's original design but changed it up and kept him blue. The look was supposed to embody change for the future for X.
I think Zero OG design resembles that weird transition of Robot masters to reploids. He IS the ultimate Robo master after all. After he got destroyed in X1, his resurrection by Wily, I mean Serges made him more in line with the current tech which were reploids. X2 Zero is way more powerful than x1.
Does that mean that the copy body used by Megaman Zero's Zero... Is that body Dr Cain made? Returning to his X1 shell (but updated) to beat his original self
No mention of the similarities to the "horns" on the helmet and the shape of Wily's hair? And I have a feeling that "funny face" was originally meant to more closely resemble a skull before the vertical 'teeth' were changed to a horizontal 'vent' more like the original Gundam.
@@ColeFam I wish I'd thought of it myself, but I can't remember where I'd read it. But you know an interpretation is good when you just can't un-see it once it's pointed out.
i've honestly thought about making my own Zero in X1 hack. though maybe i could touch up the existing hack if the creator doesn't mind. i'll have to learn how to do spriting for snes hacks, but it shouldn't be too difficult.
Huh, never noticed the X1 design on the Zero Virus in X5. That's a really nice detail. I guess it makes sense since the virus existed before his rebuild in X2, so how would it know what the new version of his armor looked like? Edit: My attention span sucks and I guess I just breezed past the entire point of the video lol. I'm leaving my comment up anyway but I'm fully aware now that the planner said X1's body was a copy. Now I have to decide how I want my head canon to decipher that info.
In the X5 version of the flashback, he has a Buster. I think it wasn't shown at all in X4 because Zero doesn't use a Buster in that game, so maybe it was to avoid confusing people? Or it could just be a huge communication issue. But that's what makes these things fun to talk about.
Gotta appreciate how the thumbnail was misleading in the sense that it wasn't meaning that Zero appearing as is in X1 is the onl true one and the rest are lame and instead it was referring to the copy bodies used in the first couple of games.
Zero's OG design is underrated. I"m a fan of it
Same. It makes him more streamline!
What's the difference? Besides missing the shoulders?
Eh I much prefer the newer design
I alway saw it as zero was incomplete design and during x2 wily as surges completed him

Oh man, that sure is a big reveal about the story! To be honest, it makes more sense that way, to have the X-Hunters steal the original body of Zero, instead of the X1 replacement.
I always found hard to believe how they managed to recover Zero's X1 body, considering how Sigma's fortress blew up and then sank into the ocean. xD
Yeah. This definitely flows better
I always liked this design for Zero, so it’s really cool seeing a whole video about it and its unique traits!
I'm giving it the spotlight it deserves!
i always took the w on zero's helmet being a restraint dr. wily put on zero to keep him from leaving the lab.(love for x5 they used the original design fitting how it was the essence of zero's past trying to awaken him to the ultimate killing machine he was before & would definitely make a awesome figurine with his pipe. :3)
that's SO amazing zero in x1 was a copy housing his integrated chip("soul" for robots/reploids,could see when x took zero's parting gift maybe took zero's chip with him.) with the x-hunters taking the housed away original body/the broken capsule was where the fake was made.(really love finding out about the concepts of capcom's series/how different the story was.:3)
i did love that sheer brutality zero had in the cutscene going from using a pipe to simply SLICING sigma's arm off with just his hand showing how potentially dangerous zero was physically(alongside the visual of him scarring sigma's face while he was down for a bit before just kicking him around really gives the feeling when wily sealed him away knowing he was too dangerous probably had some regret for it before he immediately died after sealing zero/for all we do know about his fate zero possibly did that to bass succeeding in killing him before wily restrained him.)
Wily hid himself while he repaired himself?????
I absolutely love the point you make around 10:50. It makes so much sense and it shows you have a very creative and insightful mind.
4:08 which makes sense because it’s implied that Serges is dr. wily’s consciousness in a reploid body
@edwardwebb5636 Fukunishi actually said that Serges was envisioned as a robot assistant made in Wily's image. He said in that same thread that Wily would have made Serges to think like him for an experiment.
As much as I like Zero’s modern X design, I do appreciate the og’s simplicity
It would have been cool if in X6 Nightmare Zero would have been made with the X1 Desing instead of the newer one
Honestly that's been my headcannon too mostly from those blueprints alone
From X1 i get the feeling that Zero has sort of an elite hunter grade buster and that's why X's armor has the same buster, the way it is named in X dive seems to corroborate this interpretation.
I like the idea that Reploids can change busters whenever they want.
Fascinating detail for them to suddenly bring to light. Nice find regarding the original body being put into stasis, this aligns much better with the overall narrative (excluding Dr. Cain's inability to clearly communicate basic information in X2)
I honestly think the pointy bits on his helmet look less like horns and more like wings, especially with the smaller pointy accents behind them.
That's a fun way to look at it. Maybe they are like bat wings, kinda like Wily's hair.
@@ColeFam that makes sense too
I’ve always heard the story that, due to the blueprints at the end of Power Fighters, the blueprint showing X2 Zero was how Wily intended to create him, but never finished it.
(And losing his 'Z Titties' was an improvement impo)
His original design truly never got the love/apprecition it deserved. But in away we kind of got to return to it.
"We end, as we began."
Never fails to stand true.
Thanks for making a video about this! Zero's original design isn't talked about _nearly_ enough IMO, so I'm glad someone made a video about it.
It's just too good!
Wait, the helmet isn't a reference to Wily's hair?
Half-kidding; it is like a more subdued homage than Bass's helmet, but I can still see it. ;)
If you remember, Wily uses his W logo to indicate his presence in a robotic vessel.
I actually noticed it too. Since it's actually scarily similar to Wily's bat-style hair. A small little detail that everyone overlooked that foreshadows who built him.
Z-Pipe? I didn't know Zero's inanimate carbon rod had such a following. In Rod We Trust.
Zero should have been a Wiley kidnapped & upgraded version of Megaman's sister, but I'll take this.
This is honestly mind blowing info that fits perfectly into the entire lore
Power battles has Wily showing Bass his Zero with X2 design meaning thats his final product.
X1 Zero loses to Vile yet he rocked Sigma with a metal pipe which doesnt make sense unless the Zero that fought Sigma was that much stronger in an original proto body
X1 Zero is never shown having issues with the Maverick virus.
X1's Zero has a crappy auto repair system because its not his original body.
X2-X3 onward, the ending hints at fighting Zero because he got his body back
X2's Serges is stated to have a form of Dr Wily's mind.
Didn't even consider the last bit. That's really smart, using the auto-repair as a reason for the real body to keep coming back.
okay,i think we might need X1 to be remaked once more with 4 playable characters with following sequel as well before we get to the long awaited Rockman X9.
-playing as X is the true story
-playing as VAVA is the noncanon BAD(as*) ending
and the rest two playable characters are:
-X1 zero with Z buster and the martial arts learning techique
-and marty(you know, the mermaid repliroid girl in the manga, and we probably need a new name for her) for aquatic mission side of the story.
Now that I think about it Zero's helmet kind of resemble's Wily's hair
Great video and thanks for the new info! I'm a massive Mega Man X fan, so It's great to see information like this discovered.
Also, regarding that toe attack... It's very reminiscent of an attack by another Capcom character, Akuma from the Street Fighter franchise. I could see some cross-pollination between teams, and adding some of the sauce from another bad guy in the Capcom roster makes sense to me.
Thank you for enjoying!
Man!!!! I Never noticed the zero virus having a design close to the original one... also yeah zpipe should be a thing.
It's really a blink-and-you'll-miss-it thing. Especially on the TVs of the day.
Best design so simple and savage. X1 zero has always been the fav. And for the x1 rom, they should give him a dbl buster charge shot for getting x’s buster, and instead of the hado-pipe swipe 😂
I want a model kit of this design.Just so he could permanently be using his Iconic toe attacker.
Yes! They've got to make it someday...
@ColeFam I think there's a mini figure based on this design so there's plenty of references
That makes sense , serges probably just repaired the original to an upgrade form.
I love his mega man x2 &up design
Zero saving you from Vile was so awesome! Then he sacrificed himself to save you and gave you his buster. It was so good! So heroic and will always be one of the greatest moments in gaming for me!
It's always fun to watch Zero demolish Sigma in hand-to-hand combat without even having a proper sword.
I actually like is X1 design best!
I really like the simplicity of it.
That warehouse is most likely where Zero was housed in eternal slumber before they discovered him.
I always thought the pipe thing was weird lmao I never found it to make sense that a lead pipe can go toe to toe with a high focused energy friggin beam saber 🤣
The Z-Pipe knows no bounds.
Yo how long is it going to take someone to make x1 and x2 playable from zeros perspective with his own story. Like a million rom hacks and nobody's done it. Just zero playable in the same old game
Gotta know his story first
@@KamiSquad_X we do bro. We do
@shanegreer1947 facts. Like I've seen people make Zero with a pipe before, I thought it was random. Didn't realize it was canon.
@@KamiSquad_X great fight too
Serges was Doc Wily anyway so ofc he was able to repair the original body
Honestly I've always held a version of this as head canon. So it's nice to see this
X1 Zero was basically a fully completed version of prototype Zero
@@ColeFam Ah that would make sense.
My favorite character in the series
Even tho i do prefer his newer design, (especially his new shoulder pads! they look so cool!) I do like the idea that Dr. Cain did his best to fix his body with the available tech at the time! It gives a mysterious, and lost technology kind of feel to it! Almost like a certain other LEGENDary series! 👀
Cain built the copy in a cave with a box of scraps!
I only remember the X1 Zero and how he was such an interesting character.
You know...that lends a lot of credence to the theory that Serges is Wily's mind in a reploid body.
I think the limitations of the SNES played into the design being more simple on X vs the later games.
Everytime i get to learn something small but new about my favorite character of all time, it always helps make my day 😊
Well I'm sure that people know, I hope they know in the x1 episode apparently he actually never found his XBuster upgrade . Because the original x storyline wanted you to have zeros z buster. Because they give you an actual trophy for it for the Canon storyline and when you use zeros z buster deals more damage compared to Xs buster. Instead x Kai into finding the original buster and ends up using it better making it a hommming attack
So does omega have zero's original body or zero's first fake body?
I like the X1 design of Zero more, i, actually never really liked most X series' character designs for how over-designed and busy they look, it's hard to memorize or tell what am i looking at really, i don't draw often with references, since i believe it is best to have something simpler to draw with speed, but still not be too plain of course, and i think this does it well enough, it gets stuck in the mind more easily.
It would work as a light armor variation (light as in weight)
I think it the x3 opening zero change back to his X1 design to symbolize that he not the zero that willy wanted he to be and zero shows of rebellion toward his creator he will not only fight against Mavericks, but against his own destiny as well
I like that
“Those who sacrificed themselves will never return” guiding one to believe that it is correct for that particular Zero, which was a copy body, perished in the first game.
We still don't know what Zero has been fighting for!!!
Now X5's plot even makes more sense. Now I know WHY Sigma had to recombine the two viruses. Because I understand how they got seperated to begin with.
Fun fact: This was supposed to be megamanx's original design but changed it up and kept him blue. The look was supposed to embody change for the future for X.
I like all desings so far
Zero's shoes kinda look like Sonic's shoes.... I couldent stop thinking about it when you zoomed in at around 7:42
@Yokai_Yuri Robot Masters are not an actual name for Classic important robots.
I do like the skull interpretation. I wish I had put that together.
@@ColeFam I wish I'd thought of it myself, but I can't remember where I'd read it. But you know an interpretation is good when you just can't un-see it once it's pointed out.
Zero always knew the metal pipe was the strongest weapon, he couldn't keep it, otherwise no one would be able to stop him
He had to give the other side a fighting chance
Man, zero can't never be his true self.
i've honestly thought about making my own Zero in X1 hack. though maybe i could touch up the existing hack if the creator doesn't mind. i'll have to learn how to do spriting for snes hacks, but it shouldn't be too difficult.
Lemme know if you're able to get it going!
"Z-Tiddies" I fucking can't bro. XD
I swear that's what their called in the instruction manual! Just..don't fact-check that.
Huh, maybe I'm mistaken but funny no mention about how ViA's shell does lean more to this design.
The virus in X5 is such a good detail. In a game full of callbacks, that's probably the most subtle and best one.
The z pipe. That shit sounds like a one hit quitter
12:44 i thought you saw Zero's bracelets are incorrect.
Bruh i wasnt the only one who thought about zero slowly upgrading hos design piece bu piece in a rom hack
Also zero didn't have a buster in his fight with sigma I think that was added after sigma knocked him out
In the X5 version of the flashback, he has a Buster. I think it wasn't shown at all in X4 because Zero doesn't use a Buster in that game, so maybe it was to avoid confusing people? Or it could just be a huge communication issue. But that's what makes these things fun to talk about.
Capcom. Beating a$$ with pipe for 30 years strong.
Serges is doctor wily himself in a reploid body and so is Isoc.
@OrientalBales Fukunishi confirmed Serges was envisioned as Wily's assistant he made in his image who he copied his thoughts to build.
It was zero in the conservatory with the lead pipe
X1 ZERO APPRECIATION POST 🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Gotta appreciate how the thumbnail was misleading in the sense that it wasn't meaning that Zero appearing as is in X1 is the onl true one and the rest are lame and instead it was referring to the copy bodies used in the first couple of games.
Playing on words and expectations. Gotta keep it interesting!
Bring back the Pipes Zero! (*Pipe.mp3*)
