I love when someone just leaves the original body lines and look of the car and just does upgrades mechanically. This shows respect for the design from that era. You can take a brand new car and chop it up to make it they way you want it but it's not the same car. By leaving the beautiful original body, it really elevates the Caddy. It looks like silk on wheels.💙
This is probably my favorite episode to date. I LOVE old Caddies!! Especially 60's to about 72,73. Now...is this one a DeVille a Calais....? I'm guessing Deville. But with the modifications its a little hard to be sure. Its awesome that they didn't use any bondo. Everything filled with welds. The entire body straightened with hammer and block. That is some serious craftsmanship! So freakin impressive. The use of the exterior trim on the interior...very creative idea. Love it! Great great episode.
It's a sweet ride regardless, some of the same ppl who talk about $$ amounts are the same ppl who would spend thousands on one shoes/clothes article (I definitely do not get that),so,it is what it is,just depends on what you be into, and, what you willing to do to make it happen 🤷🏿♂
theo raptis I will. All I needed was a little feedback and it seems like it’s a consistent opinion to keep the dollar amounts associated with these builds in the content. Done!
i really appreciate the information that I gather when watching your videos. I think you should continue to push the envelope when it comes to video content and quality. I like hearing how much this stuff can run you. (costs on builds) Why? because in a way, It gives us regular guys a source of reference, so when we talk/think to about what needs to be done to our own vehicles, we can be prepared for what it MIGHT cost. Sean, No one else on the internet shares that kind of information with their viewers....and THAT alone, is what makes your videos and content more interesting. I like that the vibe always seems laid-back, casual, and on point. Hopefully someday, one of my rides will be in one of your videos. Until then, continue to keep it real. Later man. Peace
Andrew Phillips hell yes! Thanks for the compliment and input and I’ll continue to detail these cars including dollars spent. I’m one of the regular guys too bro. Looking forward to building something with one of my “expensive” builders soon!! I really appreciate your support and feedback. Truly!
that's why i always say, "ballpark estimate" because there's a huge range from 10,000 to 1,000,000. I believe that it LENDS to the appreciation factor.
I personally like hearing the dollar amounts. Really sends home the immense time and dedication put into one of these cars. I love that blue, what color
I'm interested in the dollar amounts, keep letting us know, I understand these cars cost a fortune to build when you pay pro's at the top of the game to build them, Keep the cool vids coming mate and I'll do my best to spread the word to friends about your channel
AdeladeSky's 2018 awesome! With so much freak out about dollar amounts I felt compelled to just talk details in this episode. But I’ll get back at it and I promise I have so much more cool car content coming. So many amazing customs in Southern California!
Would love to scars with see a restomod on a 63-69 Buick Riviera. My dad ( Miss him so much..) had a 63 and a 72 Riviera. One of the best designed cars in an era when a Human sketched and designed cars with other designers and visionaries.
Not trying to hate, it looks amazing really tho...However 2000 hours and He didn't get one guy to spend 40 of them on the engine bay, it looks like that? The engine bay is as scrappy as fuck, wires hanging everywhere? Why bother going to all that trouble on the outside and interior, if when you open the hood it looks like it's been set on fire and put out with a golf club? I really like the stuff you put out Shawn so this isn't a diss, it's just a nag at your mate to finish the engine bay, it's a fucking embarrassment!!! Peace and Love and more great cars, Bless you Shawn!!!
Not hating in any way, beautiful car. But 2 1500 watt 5 channel amps is not 15kw, it's 3k (300 watts per channel or 250x4 + 500x1 each) which is absolutely enough for a bangin system. Regardless it's an absolutely amazing build. I think it's impressive enough that exaggeration is not necessary.
If you don't believe me search for 15kw demo vehicles. It takes a LOT for 15k. Multiple batteries, alternators etc. And it produces a system which is painful to listen to. Please don't send hate, it's just the truth.

No marker lights on the '67 Caddy or any Cadillac let alone any GM for that matter... they officially appeared in 1968 and yes that's one bad mother shutchomouth!
ok, guysI heard him mention $$.I haven't allowed myself to even dream about cars for a very long time BeCause of the money,it takes high quality cars to happen its the way of it , it's the same thing as any top shelf item if you cant afford it put it out of your mind. it hurts I know all to well but that is a reality of high end builds get the money and get ready to spend even if you are a crafstmen yourself you are gonna dump a dumptruck full of money. if you don't have the money thats the first thing you have to fix. you cant change a light bulb with out it, don't complain go get the money. nobody gives anything away of real value get over it. i know it hurts but get over it. the last place you come to complain about prices is the custom car world. those days are gone. entirely to many factors come in to play if you want cheap power invent a magic wand. the only other option is to crap gold bars. being and over grown juvenile is a luxury not a right. as the old refrigerator magnet ones said the only difference between men and boys it the price of their toys. if you can just swing the cost of the car you can't afford it. don't be a fool for passion.
Nice! Me being a cadi guy for life and building my own from the ground up I can really appreciate that car. Love the color and detail. Shawn was that a sema build?
Jeff Daggs yep. Then it did the full show circuit including Good Guys Del Mar, Grand National Roadster Show, etc. Do you still have the Caddy you built?
AutotopiaLA Yes still a work in progress. Just did the motor it’s a 472 bigblock .30 over,10.5-1 compression,Milled heads,MTS cam,ARP rods, mains, head bolts, Street demon carb, port&polished heads, manifold, headers,Dual exhaust, High lift MTS valve springs,HEI distributer,MSD heat hi output ignition module,Eldelbrock high rise manifold, high flow mechanical fuel pump,ARP engine bolt kit,MTS aluminum valve covers,Lokar trans kickdown,Engine driven air compressor,Fully built transmission,Airbagged beast now working on interior then paint. It’s on my instagram and UA-cam.
I like the car and the video ! More detail about the build would be nice. What kind of air ride and any modifications to the frame. I have a 1968 Caddy Convertible so I would like a lot more details. I like to see the prices also and it could be broken down between parts and labor cost or parts and labor hours. How much were all the parts for the air ride ? How much were all the parts for the stereo and where are the speakers located ? For people who want to do some of their own work on their car a parts list would be nice. Any issues making the wheels and tires fit? On the paint how many coats of color and how many of clear ?
Great questions and I’m sorry we didn’t get more of the details. This was pretty early into our shooting and still hadn’t figured out our format. Now we go crazy on details
Sinister actually means left handed; because the Romans hated left handedness. Hence the negative connotation with sinister. Left handed=sinister ; right handed=dexter
I love that color and that beautiful Cadillac. I know the lowered look is all the range but it looks like it rides like a buck board now cause ya'll were kind of bouncing in your seats. I had a 67 Fleetwood when I was a 16 year old my dad bought me for about $600. I think it had a 472 CID motor, power vent window front and back and would pass everything but a gas station. Seeing this Sinister brought back good memories.
My Pap had a 68 4 door hard top Coupe DeVille, when my sister was 4 years old she was in it pretending to drive, pulled it outa gear, it drifted down through the yard and slammed into my Pap's 65 c10 pickup and thankfully my sister was unscaved, my mom was just walking out the door as it was happening and started chasing her on foot! My sister still remembers lol!
@@AutotopiaLA hell that happened back in 1976, the DeVille's grill was busted out and it drove the 8 foot bed 2wd c10 into the corner of the porch of the house my parents currently live in, my grand parents are gone and that's my dad's home place! It didn't hurt the vehicles very much at all but the Caddy did drift about 100 feet before impact
Love this car. I actually just saw it on TV last week on Bitchin' Rides. I used to have an 85 Buick Regal almost this exact color, with a white pinstripe and white vinyl top. 350 rocket engine, straight pipe exhaust and little 15' chrome wheels. Yea, it was a while ago when 15"s were in style lol
Another great video, that thing is total bad ass! Some people just don't get the amount of time and attention to detail it takes to end up with a finished product like this. Those are the ones who question the money aspect. It can be never ended on a one off custom. The only thing I'd have to change is that red interior. Red interior just looks cheap or cheesy to me. Just my personal opinion...And I'd like to see a posi rear end in it, even if it's an "airplane gear".
Chuck Grace funny about the red interior. Some love it and some don’t. I’m nuts about the color combo but I love red interiors. Sexy to me. I’m with you on posi especially when leaving stripes vs stripe 👊
I'm hopefully picking up a 66 Cadillac deville on sunday and this video has me really excited about it. I obviously won't achieve what you guys did but this video really hit the spot thanks for the content and all the hard work and pissed off wives that it took to build this Cadillac 👌
Hope you get it. I didn’t do any of this car though. This was all done by my friend Rick that was in the video with me. Can’t take any credit for this car other than shooting and editing it. Good luck on the 66!
Cool content! I just subscribed to your channel brother! My dad had a 68 Cad Coupe de Ville same body style but it had a 472 cu. in. motor, I love that body style. Sinister is fabulously done!
looks like it hit a pebble on the street and broke a pipe, and one more burn out the tires are gone!! haha SWEET RIDE.............if it comes off the ground.
true, but i'd like to see it with some better tires and better stance, to me, it would be insane. I do looooooove the car, and with that interior, simply outstanding. The hidden speaker idea is BRILLANT.
I like hearing the dollar amount. Easy to jump extreme $$ real fast with a full build. Your channel should have at least 100k subscribers. There are to many car people not to be subscribed. I love the channel keep it up
I HAVE SEEN BLUE CARS WITH RED INTERIORS AND THOUGHT WHY? BUT I MUST ADMIT, I LOVE THIS ONE! SO GLAD TO SEE NEW CARS IN BLUE ON THE STREETS INSTEAD OF WHITE/SILVER/GRAY/BLK. BEAUTIFUL JOB, ALWAYS ONE OF MY FAVORITE YRS, MY DAD HAD A '69 COUPE DEVILLE, METALLIC BLUE.
I concur with the majority in asking for the cost breakdown. I really appreciated the explanation of the otherwise 'stock' looking bumper. A very subtle change, but one can assume it took a ton of work to make sure it so smooth. To the neophyte like myself, I'll bet the 'show quality chrome plating' cost a bundle as well. One suggestion, could you do a more detailed evaluation of the car? It would cover the assumed upgrades to make it handle at today''s expectations. Chassis, brakes, engine refinements all would be included. Thanks for considering this lengthy comment!
It's a driver. I like it. I think at some point he can return to the drive train and do something special. Like a newer super charged Cadillac motor with an 8 speed trans.
the only thing....wheels should be as smooth as the body. they have angles where none belong. think centerline type smooth. otherwise...damned nice build!
I love when someone just leaves the original body lines and look of the car and just does upgrades mechanically. This shows respect for the design from that era. Killer build. Screw guys crying about 150G caddie. On the cheap paint been 40G.
Rod 000 another guy that understands the world of one off customs!!

Third Street Saints (Saints Row for non-gamers) color. This Caddy is impressively drool-worthy.

Thanks for the sub!! I love this car. The color. The name. Just a cool build.
My first impression that it was a 65 caddy but your explanation of the build cleared that up
WAAATTT AAAA KOOL CAR BAT IT NEDS MOR HP . NESS ANADOR 250 HP. SOU IT COOD BE . ASUPER CADY. .🤗👽👍💪
49 nine cents is riding on blades. Never understood those low profile tires. Other than that old caddies were cool
Anyone who thinks these cars have bonds is a complete block head and doesn’t know jack about cars
I want to buy a new Kia van to drive my 3 grand babies around. I wish I could have this car instead.
looks like it hit a pebble on the street and broke a pipe, and one more burn out the tires are gone!! haha SWEET RIDE.............if it comes off the ground.
01REDEYEDDEVIL it’s pretty well set up. And I love that he drives it!
true, but i'd like to see it with some better tires and better stance, to me, it would be insane. I do looooooove the car, and with that interior, simply outstanding. The hidden speaker idea is BRILLANT.
How many hours pisses him off. He's like a million. But 18 days so yeah. Lots
What a beautiful car. Great use of contrasting colours. Nice subtle mods.
Tough Garage agreed. Tastefully done and still fairly over the top with colors and materials used.
Its got nothing to do with muscle cars but it a good one off an Austin Mini David Brown they need cover whats in the engine.
Jairo Cabrera would love see it. I’ve seen a few Mini’s done really well for canyon slaying.
Zero body roll, how sick is that
He built a great one here. Looks and drives great!
Y love it the cars cadillac is the verie bad ass cars is one motors ford 429 hummm sooo good motors
Priceless beauty. outstanding thought-out workmanship. Truly special.
Agreed 👊
Building a car like that,, dollar amount don't matter. Thanks man .
I need a car with that blue. Beautiful
Hurricane Sam such a great color and with the red interior! Beautiful.
Awesome car shawn. Absolutely love everything about it. 12 k shawn that’s great news. Keep up the amazing work
Ross Lynn thanks Ross and thanks for being there from the beginning with me/us on the channel and the growth. Loving it!!
I’ve gotta 67 but it’s not set up for that. 😂
Hmm.. With a little math that 1250 amps..... That sounds made up.....
Still binge watching... :-) the boys are tossing back a few and fogging the room so why not? Peace.
I like hearing the dollar amount. Easy to jump extreme $$ real fast with a full build. Your channel should have at least 100k subscribers. There are to many car people not to be subscribed. I love the channel keep it up
Thank you! I’m looking forward to a million subs…currently 277K and pushing daily!
My bad I was drinking I meant a million wtf lol
@@cameronvanlandingham9721 😂😂😂🍻🍻
Damn! What's there not to love? Perfect hanger "Sinister". Serious "Badass" car!
Anybody did suicide doors on one of these. That would be car for it.
So basically someone paid six figures to ruin an all original 1967 Cadillac.
That’s one way to look at it. Another would be that someone out there built one of their dream cars?
I love that car,it's one of my favourites so far mate cheers👍🏻🇬🇧
I love it too. Very cool build and that paint is amazing
I stopped the video the second i saw a one tire fire. Really??
Those wheels are disgusting
Alex Arnold not for everyone. I think they fit the color combo and style.
That car is awesome looking but it rides like feces.
Badass Cadillac
👀...🔥👍😍👍🔥
Thanks for showing that amazing cadillac!
It's a driver. I like it. I think at some point he can return to the drive train and do something special. Like a newer super charged Cadillac motor with an 8 speed trans.
I think he’ll keep it old school although I’d love to see posi on it
Should’ve painted it black jmo
the only thing....wheels should be as smooth as the body. they have angles where none belong. think centerline type smooth. otherwise...damned nice build!
why no enginebay shot? i think its the most important part on the car
Its not as pretty as the rest of the car so we left it out. Sorry
