Awesome to see the Gas Monkey Garage Hellcat Dart again, it's been layin low for a while, since that episode / build off really. Didn't think i'd be seein it again anytime soon, refreshing to see it again though. Glad its in the hands of someone who will give it the recognition it deserves. Chris seems like a really down to earth car guy. Great episode.
Chris is still my favorite mad scientist engineer artist who makes the rest of the world seem like it's moving too slow in comparison. My grandmother owned one of these and would be shocked to see this one were she around today.
@@juanh7268 dude, my grandmother drank two six packs of Schlitz beer a day and chain smoked Chesterfields and Camel non-filters and loved hot rodds. She's have loved it.
It gets hot in SoCal! A non AC heat generation monster like that "daily" is real gear-head/artistic devotion! I love that Chris says "we" about the build every time. It's fun to work for a guy like that.
Chis has to be the most regular guy builder would be a great guy to just hang out with and be just one of the guys ! Thank you Chris for sharing your passion for cars with the world !!! 👍🏻🇺🇸
Depends what type of mopar enthusiast you are I'm old school, we have 11 67 to 71 mopars from factory 318s to 418 wedge and the all mighty 426 500 HP is plenty for me

Great Video> I ordered a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger with the 340 ( 2 dr hard top).I remember telling a guy who used to do some dray racing on an old ariport runway. I I was telling him that this thing really goes. He said, pop the hood, oh he says. you have the green motor. Usually they came with a red motor. He said the green motor is hotter than the red motor. I had just got married & started a family, so had to sell.. To this day i regreat selling it. I remember, i took it out one night & took to 115 miles per hour in 2nd gear. All i know is that thing was incredible fast.
Had a 67 Dart GT. Medium Copper Metallic, originally had a 273 4bbl, with a 904 Trans, I installed a 340, Stl Crank, 10.5-1, ported and polished heads, LD4B intake, Hooker Super Comp Headers, Holly 750 dbbl pumper. Mancini Racing Kevlar Clutch pack, Manual Valve Body 727 with a 3g Stall Converter. 3.91 posi 8.75 rear with a relocated Super Comp Leaf Springs via Mancini kit, and adjustable Pinion Snubber. Loved this GMG build, cool improvements to that. Love it!
Wow, your 273 sounds like it was awesome. My dad's 66 Coronet was born with a 273 and when I inherited it I rebuilt it but stock like it came from the factory. Still a 2bbl but with a mild Isky E-4 cam and stock compression. It's not fast but it's reliable. One day if I take it out again it will get high compression and a 4bbl.
I really like this channel showing rough around the edges cars..... so much more meaningfull than the pristine gems that one rarely sees and never drives.... Excellent content. Well done!
This is so cold blooded and I have talked about doing this swap before, alot!!! I'm wanting to build one too I really really like this build.... It goes hard bro.
In Australia our version of this car is a pacer….it’s super collectible but only ever came out with a hemi 6. Awesome car but no shock when it’s owned by mr Ruffian
Gas monkey broke all the ground rules against the Roadkill guys on this car. It was supposed to be stock format, nothing more than moving the leaf springs inboard.
Love Chris and Ruffian. That’s a cool car, as a fan of Gas Monkey from back in the day I love it. If I was Chris I’d probably ditch the glide and go with a turbo 400 with a gear vendor for a 4 speed
Ok, I think that this was a perfect match. Car is actually very cool. The craftsmanship is excellent. The not restored look is very appealing to me. The ease of doing burn outs. Has the look of driving on " ICE " . So that's very important to the cool factor. I'm all in brother?!!!
Been a fan of this channel for a good while, awesome that we swill be seeing your car on here. Cant wait, I like ALL classics 79' or older but im a Ford guy first a foremost, cant wait to see that Foxbody my favorite of all mustang models. Will have my own classic custom rod one day watch and see. My dream truck is a 72' - 74' F100 shortbed 2WD. But I have other ideas/alternatives in-mind also.
Hey,, IF Chris Aston is impressed,, WHO could possibly be unimpressed with the job Gas Monkey did when they put together this little Dart. Personally I am a fan of the MoPar V8 Dart's. I bought a 1970 Dart Swinger off the showroom floor that year and loved it. Like a fool I traded it off in '73 for a Polara wagon to haul our 3 kids around but never forgot that little 340 single 4bbl, TorqueFlight beast and all the street races I won with it.
I'm thinking he'd be better with the hellcat 8 speed instead of the powerglide and gear vendors. The whole reason I bought an LT4 for my 70 c10 was because i wanted the 10l90e. When it's done it will be insane.
My first car was a 72 Swinger with a blueprinted 318. Everyone called it a pig farmer or Granny car until they rode in it. Won a good bit of money in Central Texas early 90s. I wrecked it at 90 and ruined my car. Still miss that car.
Always liked those 67 Darts. I believe that 67 was the best year all around for muscle, even many other cars. Collectively they just seemed to look the best across the board. Of course there are other great 👍 years out there don’t get me wrong, just love the 67 year all around, IMO.
Really happy to hear credit given to gas monkey. I really dont get why people hate Richard and gmg. They are doing well and stay in their own style. Not trying pretend any better than they are.
Cool build ..well done all .love it 😊 I do love a modern motor in an old car it must take a lot of the hassle of breaking parts out the way . Keep well everyone.
That was my first car in HS... sadly didn't have the HellCat in it though. I had to settle for a "lesser" V8 but it sure was a lot cooler then all the Civics and Preludes everyone 3lse was driving in the mid 90s.
Props to Dodge - they really made a impressive Engine.
No longer Dodge.
Chris is the man he definitely knows the direction to take a car and make it a beast

I had the same dart in high school (76) it had a whine too it was the axle bearing
Man that thing moves.... I love how calm Chris is completely ripping it up.

Very kind words. Thank you. Will keep on trying to build cool stuff! 😁
your favorite artist, why? For destroying classic gems like this beautiful Dart? If your grandmother saw this destruction she would be very angry.

BEASTLY! Lawn Dart! (looks like a fun backyard toy but is really lethal).
Absolutely SICK dart!! A Fox chassis built by the Ruffian team... I am ALL IN for that. I hope Detroit Speed does you right with an IRS setup

Actually one of the better fast n loud builds.
The talent this man and his team demonstrate is mind blowing!
Chris' Galaxie is still probably my favorite
thanks for explaining trans brake that's always been a mystery completely
Love these type build cars.. Drive and Enjoy! No Polish needed! .Don’t worry about getting in dirty or scratched at the shopping mall parking ha ha

Single wiring harness, engine mounts, etc...
To swap into a (A Body) ..

Wow! My first car was a hand me down 63 Dodge Dart with a slant 6 and push button transmission. This build is 🔥.
Good on GMG for building an amazing car...great episode.
This thing is SICK!!!
Super cool to see Chris from Ruffian again on the show guys...bringing all the fun!
Can't wait for more with the fox body job.
Gas monkey broke all the ground rules against the Roadkill guys on this car. It was supposed to be stock format, nothing more than moving the leaf springs inboard.
Loved seeing this GMG creation living its best life! Thanks😊
Anything hellcat powered is a must watch
Love Chris and Ruffian. That’s a cool car, as a fan of Gas Monkey from back in the day I love it. If I was Chris I’d probably ditch the glide and go with a turbo 400 with a gear vendor for a 4 speed
My favs are the roadster shop, and Steve strope
Yet another amazing car, but made way i love it. Bare minimum of blink, and full focus on pure American Muscle fun! 🎉

So cool, Chris still loves the barebones classic hot rods. Looking forward to the build
That Dart is the right amount of menacing 😄

What a crazy build. That big hellcat motor in that basically a shell of a car. I love it.
My Dodge Dart was nothing like this. But was fun to drive. Nostalgic and awesome ride👍🏻👍🏻

Id do T400 and GV. Has too much torque for 8 speeds, nothing but smoke.
