Loved hearing your impressions of this masterpiece and personally relate to much of it. To me also, this really is a spiritually themed work, much like their latest one, which ought to be engaged with in its entirety.
I had something of a nde during and after a bike accident years ago and your comments relating to this theme, particularly about the aftermath, was very perceptive. To me, the aftermath is attempting to relate the meaningful encounter with Reality of the nde with ordinary, conditioned life world experience - the actual conscious journey, path, to return to and regain one's wholeness lost, individuation (in the Jungian sense). For me, though, regaining the Wholeness means seeing, uncovering, recovering non-dual Reality through the seeming duality (a metaphysical mind or spirit in contradistinction and conflict with our physical bodies and life world) of our embodied conscious experience.
Interestingly, Maynard said in an interview that Reflection was his favourite song on the album, partly because they approached its creative composition in a more spontaneous, less Tool-like analytical, manner. So it isn't suprising to see him finding such a creative outlet with A Perfect Circle, particularly with another masterpiece, Thirteenth Step, two years later. Even the album title is suggestive of the path of individuation, going beyond the twelve step therapeutic programme to regaining our lost Wholeness...

Watching this really gave me the vibe you genuinely enjoyed it which is the most satisfying thing for me when watching reactions! I love this Album - brought me through some tough times and also really enjoyed this content! I'll keep checking put your channel after this!
Tool is my favorite band. This is possibly my favorite album of any band. Probably OK Computer by Radiohead stands right next to it for me. But I love your reactions to these guys. Although you’re a newbie I can tell you get it. More so than I did when this band first possessed my soul, as I was only 17 and not so well versed or well spoken. But they changed my perception of all music. Not just music that’s potentially Tool related. They opened me up to things that have nothing to do with Tool based solely on their creativity, musical genius, extremely relevant lyrics, and their refusal to compromise. Please keep going. Aenima and Lateralus are probably my favorites but the 2 that come after are masterpieces in their own right. Be good 😎

Tool is about the journey. It is a religious experience. I love the eastern and tribal influences.

Awesome reaction vids. Loved both. The AEnima album from them is just as good. My personal fav. And def Tool is like the Pink Floyd of hard rock/metal. I hooked onto Tool when their first full album Undertow came out almost 30 years ago and have been hooked ever since. It's almost all I listen to. Tool and Maynard's other 2 bands A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. Their just on another level. Hope you continue the journey. Cheers!
