Good review as usual! FYI the servo saver is adjustable and definitely needs to be tightened down a few turns. That will fix most of the servo/wheel turning issues you were having.
The steering rack and rear hub carriers are already available in aluminum for the Kaiju, which uses the same suspension components. Steering rack - part number RER13330 Hub carriers - part number RER13327
Sorry AJ! I watched the whole video and forgot to comment 🤣 as always I hit the like button! WOW! So AJ, this car is one I personally probably won’t get but man! You made it look good!!! The more I watch you bash the more impressed I am. Stellar job all the way around my friend!!!👏👏👏👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🏆👊👍💯
Awesome review AJ! Would love to see you review the Losi Super Baja Rey 2.0 in the future, seeing how you like larger trucks, that might be a good one to get at some point
Let's be honest, a major factor for why so many people, especially so in Europe, are excited for the Rival MT8 is due to them being sick of being ripped off by the pricing of Arrma and Traxxas. - Typhon 6S is £529 (SRP £620) which is equivalent to $652 (SRP $764) - Fireteam is £669 (SRP £780) which is equivalent to $824 (SRP $961) - Infraction is £699 (SRP is £799) which is equivalent to $860 (SRP $984) - Sledge is £759 (SRP £840) which is equivalent to $935 (SRP $1035) - Maxx v2 is £599 (SRP £660) which is equivalent to $738 (SRP $813) - Xmaxx is £1089 (SRP £1260) which is equivalent to $1341 (SRP $1552)
It is a more reasonably priced vehicle to be sure. If upgrades allow us to make it as tough as those other brands we'll definitely have something. For a stunt truck the thing is well balanced and heavily over powered. It's a good choice unless you skate park it. Nothing stock deals with that very well. Thanks for the comment. 😎👍
Great review as usual! I think you've convinced me I'm good sticking with Arrma and the Maxx/XMaxx platforms though. Doesn't really seem to move the needle forward in terms of durability.
I had bad luck with this car. It felt like bashing 15 years ago when you'd break something every time you went out. Cool platform I just wish they had spent a little extra money to make things not break. I would have happily spent another $50 on it to not have it falling apart every time I use it
Great review AJ. I can't believe you didn't break any arms! Everything you had problems with, i had the exact same issues! Went with the kaiju arms and work much better. I really like the truck. But the plastics are way too stiff! I learned that from you!
Good review, I was thinking of getting an MT8 but seems kind of small for 1/8 scale. I'd like to hear your take on the Corally lineup, like the XTR and where that'd fit in on your list.
nice review, thank You. The servo has enough torque, just tighten the nut of the servo saver 3 turns. The transmitter is a weak point. After a few times the steering is not controllable. Try to move the steering tyre up an down, the servo begins to jump. Greetings from Germany.
I've finally picked one up for myself, it should be here in a couple of days & I'm really looking forward to it.!! 👍 👍 👍 I didn't realise that they come with the upgraded arms & turnbuckles, that's fantastic because I was going to buy upgraded arms to fit straight oug of the box so that's saved £20 or so.! I only paid £300/$350 in a black friday sale. You'd have to pay £150/$180 just for the Hobbywing brushless system so it's a real bargain imo. As far as I know, once the upgrade kit is fitted the MT8 is a bit of a tank, especially if you're only going to be doing light to medium bashing (10 to 15 foot jumps) which is what I mainly do.! Thanks for the fantastic video, please stay safe out there mate & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️ 👍 👍 👍
You are saying parts are available ? More and more shops in Europe are getting rid of support for this vehicle. I myself really want it but this exactly is stopping me. I feel forced to get a second arrma or a traxxas rc :( And i don`t want any of them. I just want something that feels more like a monster truck and is not crazy expensive. It has to have independent suspension. Let me know if you have some tips and thank you for this video !
How did you get it so clean 😂 Did you replace any parts with aluminum? I know when the servo is off it moves easy but when it's on it shouldn't turn on it's own. Then again the wheels and tires are so heavy with so much torque they will overcome almost any servo
The Sledge is a serious basher with high performance, while the MT8 is sort of a stunt truck (shorter wheelbase). The question is: which one will serve your needs better?
I think this truck is a great bargain at its current price of $349. Just not for me. Now if they really wanna get rid of existing stock later on and it goes down to $299 it's gonna find its way into my collection. I'm not sure it's a better truck than the latest addition $299 Redcat pValkyrie.
I was going to buy this RC. But I hav seen other videos that plastic parts breaking. It's sad for a company that make awesome cars !!! Better of buying Arrma outcast !
That's a fair question. I like to think of it like this, although I love chocolate ice cream, it's not the only flavor I eat. You never know how good an RC is going to be until you test it. I know the Maxx is awesome, but I didn't have to get rid of it to get the MT8...Neapolitan ice cream has three flavors in it. Variety is a spice you sprinkle on everything to make it more exciting. Thanks for asking. AJ
lmao the max is overpriced 4s with tiny wheels, bad electronics, worse handling and plastic drive axles that break. You need to put even more money into it to make it 6s and match the MT8 performance.
Good review as usual! FYI the servo saver is adjustable and definitely needs to be tightened down a few turns. That will fix most of the servo/wheel turning issues you were having.
Thanks for the info! 😎👍

Awesome!!! Thank you. 😎👍

We appreciate that! Thanks for checking us out. AJ
I really enjoy your review style videos. Great enthusiasm. Thanks AJ.

Thank you, brother. 😎👍
i love this channel, great content! You seem like the type of guy id drive my cars with haha
I appreciate that!
Thanks cool video. I pre-ordered in Jan an recvd in March. Fun truck.
Right on! 😎👍
Great channel 👏
Just found you !
Awesome review AJ! Would love to see you review the Losi Super Baja Rey 2.0 in the future, seeing how you like larger trucks, that might be a good one to get at some point
Interesting. Thanks for commenting. 😎👍
Cool truck l may have to grab this one. You could probably tighten your servo savor. Good video brother. 👍👊🏻
Awesome review, always a pleasure watching your channel and i eagerly await the next one. Stay safe rc brother.
Thank you so much. 😎👍
Once again an other very informative vid 👍. Thank you.
My pleasure! 😎👍
This truck is on my radar of ones to pick up
It will be better when upgrades become available to beef it up a bit. 😎👍

Fair enough. It's not a super tough basher, but it's still fun. 😎👍

I get it completely. There are parts of this truck that definitely need beefing up. I only hope upgrades become available. Thanks for the comment 😎👍
I had the same issues with the Arrma granite and for that reason I won't be getting another Arrma RC.
Great review AJ. I can't believe you didn't break any arms! Everything you had problems with, i had the exact same issues! Went with the kaiju arms and work much better. I really like the truck. But the plastics are way too stiff! I learned that from you!

I’ve been waiting for my XTR for 2 months. I’m getting worried about getting parts when I need them.
@@AJJAMStudios Damn that's a long time, I'll stay tuned. Thanks for the reply!

Yeah from the chassis out, it's the same parts as the kaiju. Hubs and everything. Rc hot spot has a few videos on it. Check him out. Good content!
Definitely good to know. Thanks 😎👍
Have you thought about showing a list of your top 10 when your adding a new car to the list
Thanks for the suggestion 😎👍

How you getting on with alloy hub s are they really good

what servo would you suggest? I also need upgrades for my 4s Kraton an Outcast. Those servos suck as well
Am extremely disappointed they don't even sell alloy hub set in uk
Nice truck AJ where is that orv park at
Washington 😎👍
It's on sale or $349 right now!
Did you ever find an aluminum hub, for this?
You can use the Kaiju aluminum hubs they're a direct fit.
So she’ll I pick this or the salage ?
The Sledge is a serious basher with high performance, while the MT8 is sort of a stunt truck (shorter wheelbase). The question is: which one will serve your needs better?
Steel spur gear? Can you change gearing?
Yes you can change the gearing. The red cat cnc spur is supposed to fit. Search: mt8 spur gear on eBay. You’ll see. Thanks for asking 😎👍
do they have upgraded parts yet?
Unclear. I haven't been able to find any yet. Hopefully there will be some before the Brutal Review comes out. 😎👍

I was going to buy this RC.
But I hav seen other videos that plastic parts breaking.

Better of buying Arrma outcast !
Why would you get this truck when you have the tried and true Traxxas Maxx.
That's a fair question. I like to think of it like this, although I love chocolate ice cream, it's not the only flavor I eat. You never know how good an RC is going to be until you test it.
