Thanks for the reupload of this and all of the interviews with the voice actors recently. Vergil looks really exciting but not to the level that I'll buy a next gen console (only bought PS consoles, but Xbox has advantages) in the next few weeks. Appreciate the theory crafting and discussion of your growth in the scene. DMC5 was my favourite game last year and while the honeymoon period has ended, I'm sure I'll continue to enjoy it for years to come even if I desperately want mods to keep my interest. DMC3 and 4 are more likely to be my focus in the short term but I don't want to sleep on the other games or other series. There is so much to learn and more importantly so much to teach.
There's one thing they could have added to Vergil - a new style similar to Dante's Trickster (i know it's kind of absurd considering Dark Slayer but I'll explain). Since dmc3 I feel always a necessity to escape certain attacks during fights but Vergil just doesn't have this option, especially during boss fights where he has all attacking arsenal but primitive escape/retreat variability. With Dante's Trickster I always the full control of my character movement - I decide to which angle I need to move, how fast I need, when on ground and air. Even in dmc4 se I often don't have any options with Vergil to escape some attacks to the direction I need (huge problems in air even with DT possiblities - there's no way to escape enemy attacks in air), for instance, when fighting against Berial, when you do tons of damage in air in close contact with him, doing lot's of JC, when he does that huge explosion move, I literally have no efficient movement to escape that explosion, even with DT back escape is not enough (especially when your DT bar is empty) - you ether prevent all your attack 2 seconds before the explosion so you could run to a safe distance, or you try to use Beowulf attack to hit the ground before explosion hits you which is super inconvenient. & It's so weird that we are talking about a character that specializes on speed, movement & instant teleportation. Skystar is the best thing that ever happened to Dante's mobility & I don't understand why someone as Vergil still doesn't have such, at least, alternative own Skystar.
Vergil's Air Stinger is a solution but you have to accept to miss the attack. Otherwise Vergil has a Dodge Trick on the ground which is a directional omnicancel Trick on the ground. So it's kinda unnecessary.

@@RedgraveKyo but air stinger works only to enemy direction which is the opposite of what I need :(
