The Jimmy Dore Show Good reporting, but in failing to report on what the DNC has become, a business, you're still not quite there. The Democrats are no longer a political party (though obviously they trade on that history as any brand will), they're simply the paid political and legislative arm of corporate America. Their job is to maximize corporate profits while giving voters as little as they can get away with, because the less they give voters the more profits increase.
Think of the Democratic "party" as a business with the DNC as its Board of Directors. You can no more persuade DNC Democrats (like Obama, the Clintons, Pelosi, Schumer, Perez, etc) to do more for voters than you can persuade Goldman Sachs to sacrifice profits for the betterment of the populace, generally.
Consider for example what Obama did on his way out the door, giving tens of millions of dollars to Blackrock while giving the appearance of compassion by pardoning a trivial percentage of non-violent drug offenders. Look at the entirety of Obama's presidency in this light and you'll see a very consistent pattern of Obama doing *_the least_* he could get away with in order to defuse public outrage or desire while continuing to masquerade as a conventional Democrat.
Obamacare was the quintessential example of giving the public the least he could give them at the lowest cost to his donor-owners while deflecting and defusing public desire for real change in the form of universal health care.
The reason I point this out is that by referring to Democrats as a political party at all, or by treating them as a political party in the traditional sense, you're making fundamental errors in framing the issues and problems we face.

I did as well, full-well knowing my vote meant NOTHING, quite literally, in a state, due to the electoral college, had already been claimed as a victory for Trump prior to the election (putting it simply). Voting for Hillary would've been just as worthless as a result. So people who tell me I wasted my vote DON'T GET IT. OUR VOTES are worthless as long as gerrymandering and the electoral college exists. They literally do not count if your "state" is looped into an electoral college victory. My vote was literally "not counted" against all of the others, it was pre-processed into a "losing pool" of votes that did not "add-up" to a national total.

I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only left-minded person that doesn't buy the Russia bullshit. I told most of my friends early on that Russia is an excuse for Hillary being a shit candidate, and they called me a Trump supporter. I dated a woman who told me I was a sexist because I voted for Bernie in the primary and voted down ticket on election day. (Berine overwhelmingly kicked the shit out of Hillary and Trump in my home state of Oklahoma on Super Tuesday.) I'm happy to have my Russia skepticism validated.

I don't get it, why US is going along with this. Russia is using its USSR legacy hardware, modernizes it and maybe some new tech, but mainly focuses on defense. For every dollar Russia spends on defense, it can credibly offset 40 dollars of US "defense" spending. This is simply because defensive posture is cheaper; it costs Gorillion dollars to operate aircraft carrier, it costs fraction of that to operate a credible anti-carrier cruise missile system that prevents US using carriers against Russia, China or India. And china and India are doing the same, they are literally bleeding US dry, by making cheaper and modern missile system to counter big lumbering hunks of iron, the US navy. And US cant even go to a total war with either China OR Russia because nukes... so regional conflicts, like Syria, are turning to total money sinks for US military. All the US might, achieves nothing, as long as Russia, Iran and China backs Assad because US cant use its military without escalating to war with nuclear powers.
In hindsight, this is how US defeated USSR, by bleeding its coffers dry in cold war arms race, now i guess its the turn of the last dinosaur on this planet to die, the US military. You cannot justify the spending US does on military, without actually achieving its geopolitical goals: whats the point of having biggest army if you are repelled by order of magnitude smaller militaries with M.A.D. backing it???

My take on the last year or so is that he prevented something that would've gotten worse, with no end in sight, if Hillary had won. I think it would've been full-on "enrich the virtue-signaling oligarchs" in their seats of privilege, at the expense of everybody else, from insider stock tips to sweetheart-deal speaking gigs, to not-even-thinly-veiled pay-to-play going on in plain view.
I LOVE the venom and hatred of the president being spewed. He is VERY MUCH on notice, as ALL presidents should be, that we are watching, and some of us hate him so much we'll make shit up and BELIEVE it the next day. All presidents should be under this kind of scrutiny.
I think we're discovering that things got lax, because the same crew got used to having their own way for too long. A 2-term presidency represents close to a decade of the same guys, who all know each other, doing favors for one another, from insider stock tips to sweetheart land deals, to not-even-thinly-veiled pay-to-play taking place in plain view.
And we see a pattern of lawless behavior (and relaxation of compartmentalization of intel at Obama's discretion) that was ignored, if it was in the right cause.

Interesting commentary. Much of it I agree with. However, the concept that Bernie Sanders is an "anti establishment" and "authentic" candidate I find laughable. As soon as he got paid off and purchased his 3rd house, he fell right in line with HRC. So much for core values.

I am from Germany, I only now realize, how strikingly similar the situation is in the Western countries, the Democratic Party would be analog to the SPD in Germany, which is supposed to be left and social, which became corrupted and carried out neoliberal policies which harmed the poorer people in Germany and Europe in general. Then this most traditional and well respected of all German parties, which used to struggle against the Kaiser and against Hitler in the old days, blew up and split into a minority real-principles party (Die Linke) and a corporate majority party (still called SPD). Guess what: the majority party, once the biggest party in Germany continues to go down for years and is about to become a minor party. Look at what's happening to the Labour Party in Britain and now the crisis of the Democrats in the USA. Listen people, the problem is international and we need to fight this internationally!

Its been an amazing journey outside of my echo chamber. I recommend it for everyone, whoever side u r on. One huge thing i have learned is not to follow narratives, all they are is emotionally manipulative stories to keep you on the team. Hey Jimmy, I work at a school district in Oregon. 75-80% of my colleagues are over 45: we are all Bernie supporters. Most baby boomers I know are Bernie supporters.
This might actually happen as today, July 23rd, Texan Rep. Louis Gohmert introduced a resolution that would ban any political parties that support slavery. It would call the removal of symbols, items, and mentions of any political party that supported slavery or the Confederacy.
This would include the Democratic Party. Who opposed Lincoln, the president who ended legal slavery, A REPUBLICAN, back in the Civil War days.

I'm in my 60's now. And I"ve been subjected to anti-establishment candidates my whole life. It's nothing new. One day we'll be so fed up, and actually get a true anti-establishment candidate that will win. But it hasn't happened my whole life.

One of the most important things that happened in recent times are whistleblower websites like Wikileaks.

Recntly I watched Benjamin Netanyahu, Isralei PM, being asked outright, "Does Israel have nuclear wepaons". He babbled on and like every politican never answered the qiuestion. Netanyahu creates uncertainty. It is like he is saying, "We might, we might not". By making EVERYONE feel insecure and think twice about attacking Israel he peddles uncertainty and uncertainty is a valuable product. It also makes those nations who israel considers its enemies, like Iran, want to pursue their own national security, by buying arms, spying, etc etc and developing nukes. It is one big racket.
These are all things somoene somewhere , which some banker has financed, is ready to supply at a profit. Most likely some Israeli company has benefitted somewhere along the line producing these products. It is what Israel does and why it has the largest amount of technology start ups in the world. It sells such technology to all and sundry including Russia and China. Some people say Israel stole a lot of it from the USA and improved the design and function and onsold it. Israel has bene doing that for decades. As afr back as the 1970s I remember reading an article in Rolling Stone about how Israel stole the blueprints for the F series jet fighters and made them betetr and faster and more manouverable!
The uncertainty we are sold by corporations doesn't only keep arms makers and dealers richer but most other multinational corporations richer as well. Uncertainty about our kids future is sold to us as life insurance, uncertainty about health is sold as health insurance, uncertainty about having a job is sold as salary insurance. Do not under estimate the psychology of uncertainty. It is the most valuable product corporations ahve. It keeps everything ticking along.
And politicians, like Netanyahu sell the inherent incertainty of national security by being ambiguous.
We do not have leaders. We have national Corporate CEOs selling us fear and uncertainty and the means by which to help allay them.

As a democrat in NY I voted for Trump in the election. During the primaries I voted for Bernie Sanders.
It is not about left/right or corporate money. Why doesn't anyone point out the obvious: Politicians who come out of nowhere and become popular are politicians who are not 100% pro-Israel, but only maybe 90% pro-Israel. This is true on the left and on the right. Ron Paul had passionate support because he was not 100% pro-Israel. Bernie Sanders had huge passionate support because he was not 100% pro-Israel. Trump won because he is not 100% pro-Israel. Jeremy Corby won huge in England because he is anti-Israel.
Not wanting open borders is not xenophobia.
