I am now super tempted to replace my ceiling fan/light combo in my office with this light given that I never - ever - use my fan/light combo in there. I have a great HVAC system that is connected to my Apple Home via Sensibo and my recessed lights are all Phillips Hue lights. I very much like notifications via colored lights and the ring makes it that much more noticeable. The white light can be great for when I just need a quick grab of something from the office and need not turn on all 6 recessed lights. Plus, with the wiring and mount already there, it should be easy to install. Your thorough reviewed is helping to push me over the decision edge. Getting this final review from a lighting expert put it over the top. Thanks!
Hello Dr. Cole, thank you very much. I really tried to be thorough as a lighting guy. I was enjoying the color temperature control for adjusting the lighting for filming a smart lock video. The Ring is nice to have, it really is a good notification light. I can see it being a good fit to replace your unused ceiling fan. I thought about doing the same thing. It opens up more uses than a fan that barely gets turned on. Let us know if you end up getting it. I will say the install is really easy. Especially when you have the mount already there. Setup in the apps took longer than the install. Have a great day.
Do these have dim to warm capability? I know halo has cheap recessed lights that do, but have no customization. There are high end recessed lights than can, but are crazy expensive. Im patiently waiting for an economical light that has customizable dimming and color curves and programmable adaptive color. Hopefully it will happen sometime this century. 😂
Hey Craig, thanks for the great video.. Quick question: When I open my light color in home kit it doesn't have the option for Adaptive lighting. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Hey Craig, long time subscriber and Love the channel. I was wondering if you know of any decent outdoor smart bulbs that work with Apple Home. Thank you for all you do.
Thank you very much. I really appreciate it. I do not know of any good outside lights that work with Apple home. There is definitely a whole in the outdoor lighting space. I can really only think of Philip hue outdoor lights that works with HomeKit and Govee lights that do not. But Govee is making more Matter devices and outdoor lights. I would keep an eye on them.
After switching to the new M3 hub, I couldn't re-bind the T1M. The T1M Light says turn the light on/off 5 times. I wasn't thinking to do it RAPIDLY. That was my issue. This might help someone else.
How does this compare to Govee's ceiling light?

Nice review! Do you know what the difference is between the T1M and the L1-350?
L1 is just a basic ceiling light, no RGB ring around it.

Hey Craig, awesome video, it is a product worth considering, especially for entryways.

Is the T1M act as a zig bee repeater ? If it does it’s an interesting feature.
