You'll enjoy the HOF. I'm partial to football but you'll appreciate it. They used to have an awesome hof rookie card collection on display, not sure if still there. Enjoy!
I also arrive on Tuesday afternoon flying in from Orlando. I look forward to seeing you again. If you like music, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is great to visit. This is National #10 for me, and my third time in Cleveland.
Since you will be able to see items on Tuesday could you make a note of where you see the PS postcards and DK hof autos. I'll be there Wednesday early afternoon and hopefully bump into you while you're still there
My wife and I are doing Canton Monday and RnR on Tuesday. Have done baseball and hoops, gonna be a blast! Quick question, how early do you think we should get to IX to pick up our early-entry passes on Wednesday?
Do you know anything about the theives from the Dallas show? I can’t believe they think they can move any of those. Also....what cards do you need from 1979 Topps ? I built a NM-MT set years ago and have some commons left.
Here's what I would do as a goal...considering what just happened. I would MAKE SPECIAL EFFORTS to keep my shit safe and not be ROBBED. I would also make efforts to not get SCAMMED. But hey....do what you will. Ultimately, the REAL question is...WHAT is THE National doing for security and prevention of theft?....unlike Dallas (although one can argue, it wasn't really the show's fault.....). THAT'S the ONLY Q&A anyone should be asking. And yes, years ago I did the National as a dealer in Cleveburg (twice)....and sure enough....the one dealer lost a signed autograph of some HOFer...... Fortunately, no one stole anything from us.... PSA consistent? About the ONLY thing consistent is their slabs, and that their grading prices continue to rise.....certainly NOT their grading abilities.
can i ask why do u say on wed u get a dealer pass at the national ? just curious… and can I ask what does that provide you on wed that is special ? I’d think most dealers r not selling at deals at the very start of the show..
I’m an avid collecor… i never go to the national due to it being in the HOTTEST humid time of year… I’m on the east coast and the chantilly and philly shows in the spring and fall is where I go…. dont think I’ll ever go to a national...
Mike, Great list of cards on your list. 🍻. I’m also looking for the t202 Hassan Cobb w/ Jennings. Still holding off on the 41 PB Joe D as it‘s last one needed for his run of “mainstream” releases. Love all the Perez Steele HOF signed postcards. This will be my 1st Nat since 1988 when my father took me. I’ll be bringing my 15-year-old son to Cleveland so will be following him around for 99%. This will be his show like my dad did w/ me in ‘88.
Best of luck to you at the show! Suprising I actually have two of those on your list. I looked at a few Doby cards last year. I think its a great card. I remember Scott Reindeer Studios picked up a nice one.
On the wait list for The Diamond King hoping somehow I get a ticket. Excited for the UA-cam event Thursday night. I cannot wait for the National. Good luck finding your want list. I usually only have one or two I specifically target. Love the double Cobb Mecca want to get that one someday but kind of looking for a Tinker/Evers/Chance Mecca at The National. Wow amazing how close you are on your 4 decades set congrats.
I actually said that the obsession with comps is ruining the hobby. And the playing the percentage of comps game. There always needs to be some starting point for the negotiation of buying a card, but it is not the end all be all.
No. I’m not setting up. Why can’t you go to the national anymore after your son goes to college? And I don’t really do the trade nights, so no real Tips there. Sorry.
Mike, love the update on the four decade set! You're getting close. Have you thought of one day making it a five decade set by adding the 40s? I bet you already have most of them. Have fun in Canton, I went in 2019. I've been to all four (baseball, football, basketball and hockey). Would like to go back to Cooperstown though cause it's been around 30 years since my last visit. Hopefully you come back with some great cards from The National.
Sounds like the makings of a memorable week. I'm biased toward Cooperstown, but I wasn't overwhelmed by the Football HoF. But that was over 20 years ago (2002 I think). I really enjoyed the Hockey HoF by comparison. Look forward to seeing you in Cleveland.
Looking forward to seeing you again Mike. As you know I’ll be staying at the same hotel as you. Hopefully we’ll have some time to hang out together beyond the YT get-together.
When I go to shows i’m not targting cards… I let the cards come to me.. at the recent chantilly show I just waked the floor and a few cards came to me I wanted… one was the bob cousy rookie card i saw on the 3rd day sunday… did not see it the other days.. not on my radar at all but saw it was so good looking in a PSA 6 and bought it...
Good luck on your Fab Five! Enjoy your National Week.
Mike, looking forward to seeing you! 3 of your 5 priority cards are fairly high on my desired card list as well, my collecting brother! 😊👊
Good luck Mike. Hope you find at least 2 of your top 5. Sounds like a well planned trip.
Fingers crossed!
Always appreciate the videos. What are the details for the Thursday evening event you guys are hosting?
You'll enjoy the HOF. I'm partial to football but you'll appreciate it. They used to have an awesome hof rookie card collection on display, not sure if still there. Enjoy!
A great list, cannot wait to see them at the meetup!
Assuming I can find some of them. LOL

I’ve been to the rock n roll hall of fame twice. It’s cool.
Wish I was able to go this year. But I wish you luck 🍀 on your targets
Thanks Adam

I will actually probably not go to the show on Tuesday

@@collegehoopsguy At least two hours early
I’ve driven from Cleveland to the hall of fame. Not bad at all

I know that they are going to get caught.
I just picked up both of the 79’s that I needed. They are on the way.
Hi Mike. It’s going to be an awesome time, I’ll see you soon pal.
See you soon Stephen

You would be surprised how many deals I get on Wednesday morning before the doors even open to the public
Well Mike we are aiming for the same cards 😂😂😂 both JoeDs and the Hassan Cobb but I would take the walter as well. See you there dude 👊👊🤙🤙
I am sure we can both get them. Lol

You are missing out Lee. It is as much about the experience as it is the cards
@@BaseballCollector What if the experience at chantilly and philly are great experience though?
@@ACD1994 I have been to Chantilly and it is great. But it is not the same as the National. The National is on a whole different level.
Appreciate you sharing this Mike!
Good luck and can’t wait to see you
So fired up for the National! Will keep my eyes out for the cards you’re hunting. See you in Cleveland!
Thanks Josh. It takes a village to build a great collection.
Is this the last time the show will be in Cleveland?
Hopefully so.
Who knows?
Gave a video like. Great targets for the National! Good luck picking up those awesome targets.

Ooooh prewar 😍
See you in Cleveland Mike!
See you there Jake. You getting any autos this year?
Great rundown Mike. Hope to say hi again this year. I will be looking for 1932-1935 Zeenut PCLs (very specific and weird, I know)
Good luck on your plan
Thanks Peter

Hi Mike, looking forward to meeting you at the National. Hope you pick up some of the cards you're looking for. I am working on my list also.
Whatever you do don’t think about comps when purchasing a card. Remember it’s ruining the hobby.
I actually said that the obsession with comps is ruining the hobby. And the playing the percentage of comps game. There always needs to be some starting point for the negotiation of buying a card, but it is not the end all be all.

I've wanted to go to the National and get into the Topps Q&A since I saw you get that Alonso in 2019.
I hope you find the cards you want Mike. Looking forward to seeing you again.😁
